Despite the other reviews I have to admit that my experience was stellar. The barber "Nadar" was very patient despite me not knowing exactly what I wanted & accommodated me in every way once I made a decision. I have to admit that this place is above a normal barbershop. The waxing & the back room facial is what set this place apart. Extremely clean shop with someone constantly sweeping will offer reassurance to people. I do recommend making an appointment but I called & received service the very same day. I wish they would have a shop closer to downtown is my only drawback. read more

This review is for Nour and the barber and the shop. I'm from Orange County, Ca and when I found out I was visiting Chicago I knew I had to book an appointment. Nour has made it easy to book the appointment. He uses Booksy which clearly shows you when he's available and what services you want. The minute I walked in I was greeted by all the barbers and they told me Nour was running a few minutes late. I look around it was a simple shop but clean and well taken care of. Everyone was having a good time. The minute he shows up, treats me like a king and listens to what I want. Tells me not to worry and got to work! I'll tell you this, I don't think I've ever been happier walking out of a barber shop than I did with Nour! The guy is a genius! It comes natural to him! I wish he lived in OC instead of Chicago. If you're in the area or visiting Chicago make sure you visit him! You won't regret it. I drive about an hour for a haircut every 2 weeks. Im a very hard to please person when it comes to my haircuts and beard lining and my boy Christian always gets me right. Ive gotten my hair cut by Tony, Nader, and Nour but Christian is my guy. You just cant go wrong at this place. I have to agree with the previous poster. I too sent him a text after looking at his Instagram page. He simply replied "ok". I drove two hours too get there and walk in to a bunch of Arabic music super loud and no one even says hi. Then I wait for an hour and a half until he comes over and says to see his other barber. This guy Nour has no idea how to run a business. I was watching him with an American customer and the guy was speaking in Arabic the whole time not paying any attention to his customer in the chair. read more

A month ago I wanted to go there so I called them up to make sure if you have to schedule an appointment or if it's a walk in type barber shop, they said no you can walk in. Walked in then walked out with a great cut and service. Expected the same when I came today but sadly no. I was waiting an hour , not much people. So I thought that was unusual. I wanted to use the restroom so I did. Walked out and they asked me "hey bud, did you make an appointment?" Was frustrated an left. Mistakes they did : 1: first time I called I ask them if it's a walk in type or you have to make appointments. I was never informed that there are specific walk in hours. 2. If someone waiting and your unsure they made an appointment you ask. Instead staring at them and letting them wait for an hour or more. 3. I run a start up, ran multiple business, and I am 16. The thing that sucks about this review is how much I wanted to LIKE this barbershop. I scheduled an appointment, even called to confirm it, and later received a call that I would have to move my appointment one hour ahead because they were "running behind". Never had a business call and ever say that to me ever before. The barber was chill, but he constantly was talking to other barbers, showing them videos on his phone, walking across the shop to talk to other barbers, and leaving me unattended. I felt like I was at a BAR or CLUB instead of a place of business. Barbers were wayyyyyy too casual. Wasting so much time talking: probably why they were running behind. Because my barber was constantly talking to and being distracted with other barbers and customers, I felt that what could've been a 20-25 minute haircut turned into an hour hair cut. This place isn't ran like a professional business at ALL. Plus, they don't accept debit/credit cards (there were no signs or anything indicating that they only accepted cash). And they don't have change for your cash. A lot people nowadays don't carry money with them anymore. If you only accept cash, at least have change ready on hand. Overall the fade was pretty well done. It's just the entire experience that has left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Was reffered to the shop by a friend who saw them on instagram and i am suprised at how well the business is managed, i walked into the barber shop and was greeted by one of the owners named nour, and he suprisingly had an opening at the time. I sat into the chair with no idea of what i wanted to do with my hair, and he was very helpful with the suggestions, and we agreed on an undercut, and a face wax for my beard. The cut i was given was a masterpiece, he is a virtuso at what he does, i got compliments on it by multiple people that day. I would definently reccomend going to studio cuts. If I could give them zero stars I would -__- but then again I just think I just got a fucked up barber (I believe his stupid ass name was Juan) So to start off I'm a woman who went in to get a hair cut (this was my first mistake because obviously they don't have much experience cutting women's hair). So I made an appointment for Thursday ( 2-16-2017) at 10 am and my barber didn't show up until 10:30. Mind you he never once apologized for being late. He also seemed to have an attitude as well. Just not welcoming at all and I should've left at this point, but I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt (my second mistake). I show this man TWO PICTURES of the style I was going for and he decided to do the opposite. I recently just cut all my hair off so going from mid back length hair to no hair at all is a drastic change. So this is something I'm still getting use to and this man decided to give me a masculine haircut. I wanted a tapered cut BUT not to the point were you can see my damn scalp (I wish you could see the pictures I showed him -__-) and he also pushed my hair line back way too far! I was devastated and it was also my birthday the next day too! So I was even more disappointed because I was going to look a hot ass mess on my birthday!! I legit looked like a fucking boy! He just acted like he didn't give two shit! He was on his phone texting just ignoring me, not even trying to suggest ways to fix it or even trying to make me feel better. I legit started crying I was so upset. Who the fuck acts like that!! That told me right then and there that he didn't want to cut my hair in the first place because he didn't give a damn that his client was upset with his work. But that's ok because that's why I didn't pay his ass! I've never in my life done something like that before, but I don't think it's fair for a business to treat me such a way and still expect a payment! You're not going to show up 30 minutes late, be rude, fuck my hair up, not give a damn about it, and think I'm still going to pay you for your services!! If he was nice and understanding I would've still paid him even though I wasn't happy with his work, but that obviously wasn't the case! He was just a complete asshole and I didn't appreciate that! Once again who the hell acts like that!? I wasn't even being rude towards him either when I clearly had a reason to be. Yes, I was irritated that he was late (who wouldn't be) but I wasn't showing it, which is something I also regretted since he wanted to have an attitude with me! This whole experience was just one big ass disappointment and nothing but a waste of time! They're suppose to be this amazing ass barber shop who does amazing work and this is what I get! I traveled all the way from the south side of Chicago for nothing. I definitely learned my lesson when it comes to trying out new barbers/barber shops (my third mistake)!! I have been getting my haircuts from this place for a couple months now and what I can confidently say is that majority of the time you will be pleased with the results. However, this place is VERY unprofessional. If you make an appointment with the main barber Nour, who is also the owner, expect to wait at least an additional 15 minutes at the time of your appointment for him to either finish joking around with his employees, eating, taking videos of other clients haircuts, or taking pictures of the shop and posting them on to social media, before he is ready for you. Also, while in the middle of him giving you a haircut he will randomly stop to do other things. Also, a lot of times they play music way too loud and can get annoying. The rest of the barbers are 19-20 year old except for the other owner. Overall, if you value your time and would like to be treated respectfully I would go elsewhere. If you don't mind waiting for him to call you to the chair on HIS own time then this is the place for you. The one positive you will get from getting a cut here is that you will be happy with how you look afterwards. read more
