Customer service isn't there at all and I seriously don't understand what it would cost more to change the room when I didn't touch anything in the room. Like what the hell!? Then the bugs in kitchen didn't help along with mold and a broken air conditioner. No heat all air on all the settings and I couldn't turn it off. It was stuffy and it was a smoking room with no ashtrays. The furniture was all scratched up and the tv only worked in a certain setting. Stood here for a last minute trip to Universal Studios and it was the grossest hotel I have ever stood at.. We paid $90 for the room which is still pretty high for what we got. The room we paid for had BLOOD splattered on the restroom wall and also in the closet that is right outside the restroom.. The shower had mold, our sink had hair in it in plain view, and the toilet barely flushed. The walls were dirty with visible spots from the entryway. Luckily it was just my husband and I and all we needed was to sleep a few hours and no use for the kitchenette it had. Totally not worth it as no one deserves to stay in a room with blood on the wall . read more

This is the absolute disgusting place to stay. Hair on the towels, used pillows, rude service. The smell is awful. My boyfriend and I left for a few hours to go see things in LA and came back and got ready for bed. Then around midnight someone tried to open our door. They gave our room to other people and they acted like we weren't in the system and asked us to show the receipt when they are the ones who gave us the damn keys to the hotel room. I don't recommend ever staying here. My boyfriend and I had to go to target to buy pillows and towels because they wouldn't give me a refund and we didn't have anywhere else to go last minute. read more

First, if you are thinking of booking this through Hotels.com, DON'T. Our reservation, confirmed through Hotels.com, didn't actually make it to Studio 6 (I looked at their automated registration screen), and the Hotels.com agent had no idea why. According to the front desk, this was coming with Hotels.com bookings. Also, the price is the same as is advertised on Hotels.com, so you might as well book straight with the hotel. Pros: Centrally Located Cheapest Available in the local area Good stores nearby to provide all your basic needs Front desk service was as good as it could be. AC unit was noisy, but fully functioning Cons: - Lots of noise, between the AC unit, being right off the main street, and neighboring rooms. - Weird room layout. The TV was a whole different room from the beds and too small to make out. Also only 1 chair, so... there's no way to watch the television conveniently, if you want to do that. - Not a great area, though it didn't become an issue for our one night stay. - It's honestly just a trash room. Found a bed bug on one of the pillows. Inspected the 2nd bed to see if there were any, and it appeared clear, but there were sticky smears on the mattress. Cigarette burns on the sheets in a non-smoking room. Likely haven't been replaced in ages. Door to the bathroom was jammed and wouldn't close. Water discolored ceilings. Woke up in the morning to bug bites on my right leg. Wished I'd checked the reviews here, and not just on Hotels.com, before I got the room. This was absurd for over 100$/night. If you're desperate for a place to stay and dirt broke, bring your own sheets and pillow and you might be all right. Maybe. Otherwise, stay far far away. read more

I have been in this property for 2 weeks, and all the staff has been great. Housekeepers super friendly and ask if anything is needed when they see me since I dont require much and we clean and most times get our own supplies. The management is very professional and any issues get carried out rigth away. They do get some characters but what hotel doesnt, sometimes we have great neighbors and sometimes you can hear them talking on the phone late. But 75 percent of the time is quiet and calm. I like the location since is easily accessible to almost all freeways. They respect your privacy and room while your there. One of the best places I've stayed here in the van Nuys area. read more

If your not picky then this place would be great for you. We arrived and I had great customer service. He had gotten me a better deal since we only stayed for 1 night. The rooms looked like the pictures. Our room smelled really heavy like cigarettes. We had reserved non smoking and that's apparently what we got. Found multiple cigarette burns on the blanket. Bed was squeaky. The TV didn't offer many channels. You had to pay for ice.. The parking lot was very small and it looked like shady things happen because every time we tried to park, someone would drive up to meet another person. No common courtesy to leave space for others either. I had good customer service, but I don't think I'll be returning again. read more

I will tell you why.... first it started with the parking there was no parking space and we parked across an emergency exit! I stay at this motel a few times a year. The owners are nice and the staff is friendly. Its a great price for getting a full kitchen with fridge and even a small two burner stove top. Mind you it is in Van Nuys so be prepared to be getto adjacent. They sometimes have roaches but only one ot two because they fumigate regularly. Its a great value for the rooms you get. read more

Cons: Booked a room for the weekend, got there at 3 (check in time) he said the room wouldn't be ready for 15 minutes, so we waited as did 4 other people. Came back he said it'd be another 30 minutes started to get annoyed. I asked him why the room was ready and he said she just started cleaning it. He was rude and seemed like we were bothering him. So we came back 30 minutes later and he said it'd be another 25 minutes. I was upset at this point I asked how long it usually takes to clean a room. He said I don't know I don't clean them. We're busy, you go ask her, he checked me in and point me to the room I was assigned. I go up to see how much longer it was going to take and the maid is watching TV. I asked her how much longer and she said 30 minutes. So I then stood there and watched her as she cleaned ever so slowly and it seemed as if she just started. We finally got into out room around 4:30. The room is what is to be expected from motel 6 they all generally look similar. Small kitchenette was nice with dishes provided. The fridge didn't work but the freezer did. That night at about 1:30 a.m we were woken up by some guy (our neighbor) who came out yelling at some lady, she sounded drunk and he sounded paranoid. They both yelled at each other, outside the room, at the top of their lungs for about an hour until she left, then he continued yelling at whoever he thought knocked on his door. He finally went back into his room. The next day we left for a while, left a "do not disturb" sign on our door but when we came back the maid had been in our things were mixed up and messed with. And the remote wound up under the bed. We then decided to check out early. People are hanging in the alley where the parking is. Seems sketchy. Price was decent, and location was good. read more

Wifi pretty bad and useless half the time. Got a non smoking room wreaking of smoke. Aired it out all evening. Gaping crack in bathroom will yield a big bug attack tonight. Pray for me. Booked last minute on web once we arrived there were meth heads in the parking lot and shady guys sitting in their car scoping out the place or simply up to no good, nevertheless I proceeded to the office counter to take our chances the angry Indian guy was so rude I finally said that's it! Wish there was a negative star rating. We booked the hotel online for a 2 night stay last week. When we checked in to the room, we found cockroaches in the kitchen area and on the bed. Yes - on the bed. These were live cockroaches, not dead ones. I promptly went over to the office to report this and was calmly told by the staff there that they knew some rooms had issues and they were completely booked so they will gladly give a refund. I think he assumed that the last minute hassle of searching for another hotel would deter us from leaving. Unfortunately, we were not ready to share the room with cockroaches. It took us an hour to book in another hotel and almost a $100 more per night. They did give the refund promptly, though. read more

Con's- blankets had cig burn holes, have to pay for ice and it didn't work, parking area is real tight fit and limited parking. Over all I felt it was well worth it for the price. No stars! My husband and I checked into this place around 7:00 pm. We initially reserved a nonsmoking room with a king size bed, on the 1st floor, since I am handicapped. Unfortunately, they had failed to read the comment request from my reservation. After we checked into the room, we realized that the A/C was not cooling the room. We had to buy ice and a fan to cool the room. The room was at 98 degrees at 1:00 am in the morning. We were not able to sleep with our windows open since there was no screen outside our window. The tub was clogged for almost a week to where we had to take an ice bucket to remove the water from the tub while showering. The refrigerator was not cold enough to keep our drinks cold. We had to place our water bottles in the freezer to keep them cold. When we complained about these ongoing issues we were given a whopping $5.00 credit for 2 days. Not even enough to cover the taxes for the room. What a joke! And of course, when the items were taken care of, we were told to check out because out room has been rerented. Lastly, we were told to pay cash for the few days we were going to stay. They were not going to accept my company credit card. I was appalled. The place is full of drug addicts and prostitutes. The manager Johnny will let these people stay there but, recommends for them to keep low. If he receives a complaint about them or if one does not provide him with any party or sexual blow favors and tip him extra in cash, he will cause them trouble. My husband and I were told this by one of his employees and a few other guest staying there. One of them appearing to sadly say no older than 18-20 years old. Do not stay here! Frank the night auditor will hack into your computer.The management team here are scandalous and filthy crooks. Worst Hotel. Roaches!!!!!!!! My luggage and all my belongings are out on the porch in freezing cold hoping if any roaches crawled in they will be killed. Long story short, reserved a room with kitchenette but there was A LOT of roaches so we asked for a refund to go to another hotel, they said no but they switched us to another room with NO KITCHENETTE and less roaches that smelled like cigarettes. The place was dirty, everything old! The floors dirty! The mattress old dirty and cigarette burns. It's just nasty. The owners or workers are JERKS!!!!! They simply don't care. They have no respect and are rude. They acted like they never heard about the roaches but after speaking to him longer he said they treat for roaches so they know they have an issue but simply don't care. TRUST ME - YOU NEVER WANT TO STAY HERE!!!! Stayed here in June of 2014 and from top to bottom this place is the worst. Danielle who stayed in May 2014 has it right - the customer service - wait what? There is no customer service. The people are incredibly rude, when I told them the headboard in my room was falling off, they wanted to either charge me for another room (because they had no maid to make up my room to sell to some other poor soul), or I could leave. When I told them I would leave, they claimed they literally couldn't give me a credit. I stood my ground and eventually got another room (and was not charged). During our "discussion", I couldn't understand him through his accent and had to ask him to repeat himself a couple of times. He then proceeded to ask me if I spoke English!!!! One time I came back to the motel and my key had been turned off... I had to go downstairs at which time they asked me when I was checking out. Ummm..... Sunday - the day it said on my reservation and the paperwork I signed when I checked in. You can't turn the air/heat on without standing on something because they have them high on the walls with no remote and I had open plywood as my bathroom sink base! In the room before I got moved, I had shoddy plaster from the floor to about 1/4 of the way up the wall in the bathroom - unpainted. It looked like a kid had been playing with mud and stuck it on. The large bin for the trash for the motel is in the back of the parking lot (where my first room was) so at 4:30am, I was awakened to the trucking beeping and dumping sound. The trash bin doesn't have a lid so when I went to throw something away before getting into my car, the stench and flies were absolutely disgusting. Nothing in the world would get me to stay here again. read more

Um...drug deals in the back parking lot? So this car pulls in at 6:30 am when I'm getting ready for work and he's blaring a certain type of music, no respect for anyone sleeping...there is NO WAY MANAGEMENT doesn't know he's there...he hangs out for almost an hour and while I'm drinking my coffee and getting ready...other cars pull in and he gives them "packages" and they give him money which he quickly counts and then puts in his trunk (I can't see what's in the trunk from my room). I actually closed my curtains and looked out through a crack because I didn't want him to see me watching. I was so obvious something shady! ...on to the room....scary? Towels were thin/rough/scratchy. Also, I found two cockroaches/bugs crawling across the floor. I slept on a beach towel I brought with me on TOP of the bed. I was scared of the bed. I was glad I only had to be in the area 2 days and one night. read more

First off the people running the establishment were very nice people. They got us 2 double beds instead of the 1 Queen bed we had originally booked. That's about as good as it gets. We got into our room and it was not clean. There were piles of dirt and hair on the floor. It had clearly been swept but left in a pile. The bathroom SMELLED like pot everytime you turned on the light/fan. The air conditioning unit also smelled like pot when it was on. It was hot and stuffy and we could not sleep with the smell of pot. The windows were hard to open and when they were open it was so noisy we couldn't even hear ourselves think. We had planned to stay 2 nights but we had enough of the nastiness by the second night so we ended up leaving at 11pm. There were holes in the bed sheets, and the bedside table drawer handle was sticky. Overall our experience was horrible and we paid too much for it. Never again. This place doesn't even deserve 1 star rating. read more
