    plenty of storage
    Daniel C.

The Garland is a boutique hotel that has retro vibes of old Hollywood, maybe from the 60's and 70's. The rooms and amenities are all updated however, and if you want to be close to Universal Studios or Studio City in general, this hotel is excellent. They even have a free trolley that runs hourly to/from Universal Studios and a LA bus terminal. Our 3-night stay during Memorial Day was great - comfortable rooms, beds, and friendly service. Rooms had plenty of storage space and charing ports, and wifi is free and fast. They also have an agenda of daily activities like group exercise classes, LA hot dog/taco nights, and classic movies next to the pool. Their main restaurant, Front Yard offers a daily breakfast buffet and ala carte brunch, lunch, and dinner. The only reason for the -1 stars is that their AC is an older, in-wall unit that gets loud when turned on. Outdoor Parking also isn't cheap at $50/night with in/out privileges but that may be typical for the area.

The Garland is a really nice hotel. It is kept up very well. It looks brand new despite being here at least a couple decades. They offer a courtesy shuttle to Universal Studios daily. I enjoyed the courtesy of the front desk staff. There is a very nice store right near the front desk. The lady was actually very helpful with an issue we had with the double decker bus we booked. She saved us and some guests from Australia some annoyance. The room was modern and we had a sort of garden/patio view. We were able to check in a few hours early but that is based on availability of course. I highly recommend staying here if you want to be in the West Hollywood area. It is a very charming hotel that was owned by Beverly Garland and now owned by her son.

Stayed here for three nights in March 2026. The hotel has a great vibe and they do a great job of keeping it clean and beautiful. Check in is fast. They throw a speech at you and send you on your way. I have broken down my thoughts about each area of the experience. Pool area: kids loved the movies by the pool with the pool noodle. They do a great job here with two spas (adult and children) lots of seating and towels. Trolley: really cute and a great way to visit universal studios. Caution it leaves both locations before the advertised times. Communication is terrible here by the staff. We saw one group call an uber because they were afraid of getting to the park late. Gym: covers all the basics, water station, good amount of weights and machines. The Lobby Bar: not worth your money. We ordered a salad, tacos with a side salad, some drinks, nachos and cookies. The cookies are cold and taste like chips ahoy (8 for $10). The salads are really small and are dry. The nachos were okay, just didn't taste like anything. It was a convenient dinner option but wouldn't do return. Parking: it's LA area they charge you to breathe the air, overpriced like everything else. The spots are small and as a result our car got hit with visible marks. Rooms: nice, nothing special or different overall but the air kept the room cool, the towels were plentiful, the beds were comfortable. That being said I would stay here again. The location and price worked for our family in addition to the fun family environment where our kids felt welcomed.

I had the pleasure of staying at The Garland. The front desk staff are very warm and welcoming. We were able to check in several hours before their actual check in time. This is based on availability. The room was modern and comfortable. But let's take a step back. This hotel opened in 1972 by Beverly Garland, the actress. Sadly, she passed away and now her son is in charge. The hotel is well kept and maintained so nicely. The pool and hot tubs seemed very clean. It was too cold for me to go in with my Florida blood, although the pool was heated. Many people were enjoying themselves in both the hot tubs and pools. They also have movies under the stars on Saturday nights. The Garland gives a free shuttle ride to Universal Studios and Citywalk. They also do walking tours to the Brady Bunch house, which is about 0.4 miles away. They have a very charming store that sells all sorts of nice things made in Cali. There is also a nice bar and very nice restaurant on property. I would say the only sort of downside is the location. It is not bad but for what we wanted to see in L.A., everything is a little farther than we wohkd have liked. I would still stay here again because this is one of the most charming hotels I have stayed at.

Ehhhhhhh pretty mid experience. Kind of a retro vibe which is cute. Room was clean and bed decently comfy. My real complaint is the noise from the highway. It was SO LOUD in the room as my balcony door faced it. Also, there is NO coffee shop on site. You can order to go from the restaurant. I had a burger for dinner room service which was small and came with weirdly over seasoned fries. In the morning I was told I could get a cheap tea bag to go from the restaurant. Thanks I'm good on paying for that. I wouldn't stay here again personally but the staff was very friendly.

Hosted a private 40th birthday brunch

I hosted my husband's 40th birthday brunch at The Front Yard and truly had the best experience. The Tangerine Room is absolutely stunning , such a modern yet eclectic space with a cool 70s-inspired vibe, plus a beautiful outdoor patio that made the event feel so special. You can easily customize the space to fit any aesthetic or decor vision. Most importantly, Victoria the events coordinator was incredible throughout the entire process. Planning a big event while balancing work and small kids can be stressful, but she made everything feel seamless with how accommodating, responsive, and helpful she was. The food, service, and staff were all amazing. Highly recommend for anyone planning a larger event! And ask for Victoria because she really makes the whole process even better !

My daughter and her family stayed at The Garland last summer and raved about its chill vibe and family-friendly atmosphere. Last month, I finally joined them for a trip to Los Angeles, with Universal Studios being the main focus for the kids. I booked two adjoining rooms for our family, and upon arrival, I knew I made the right decision. We were warmly greeted by Ami, whose exceptionally friendly demeanor was noticed by all of us.The decor is a perfect combination of retro, tropical, and chill. Our rooms, although basic, were spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds. The only hiccup during our three-day stay was the elevators; it seemed like one or both were out of service for repairs. This resulted in two of us in our 70s having to climb six flights of stairs on two occasions. That said, I know the staff did their absolute best to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. The pool at The Garland is a massive highlight. The grandkids practically lived in it whenever we weren't out on an adventure. Pool noodles are provided for the guests, and during the nightly poolside family movie, the kids watched the films while floating on them. The entire pool area offers an array of comfortable seating--from lounge chairs and booths to bar stools and outdoor beds. I think we sat in every single one of them throughout our stay! Having a poolside bar was incredibly convenient, especially when we wanted drinks and appetizers delivered right to our spot. There are two restaurants on the property, one casual and one slightly more upscale. The prices were very reasonable for the area, and we found the breakfast quite yummy. One night, kicking off Pride Month, the Tangerine Lounge hosted a drag queen film screening with fun festivities. I'm so happy I joined in! Brooke, the marketing manager, enthusiastically invited me into the lounge, making it a memorable evening. The hotel also features a great gift store where I bought three souvenirs for my grandchildren. The woman who runs it has worked there for 30 years and says she's loved every minute of it, which speaks volumes about the staff. Another huge bonus is the hourly shuttle to Universal Studios The Garland Trolley Schedule, and the driver was an absolute blast.Should I visit Los Angeles again, I would absolutely stay here. Highly recommended!

Amazing hotel! Great service for sure we will go again! My kids loved the pool! The shuttle was so convenient to go to Universal Studios!

A friend of mine from La Cañada stopped by to say hi on a Saturday morning, but Sis and I were achin' for some breakfast, so we grabbed her and headed to The Garland to enjoy their indoor/outdoor scene. We'd had dinner and breakfast before but this time we went for the brunch and my friend was super impressed. She's the Los Angeleno, but she'd never done the Hollywood scene before and this place, being a stone's throw away from Warner Bros and Universal Studios, emanates that glamorous vibe. We had fun soaking up the fun, seeing all the pretty people with money, and hanging out with bacon hanging out our mouths. I don't see that friend anymore since I moved away, but I was glad we took a moment to do something a little different with her. Love you and miss you, Esther!

Love the vibe of this place. 70's decor with modern conveniences. Stayed on a super rainy weekend. The lobby was packed with people playing board games, having a drink and just catching up. The layout is really warm and inviting with dark woods and orange earth tones. The bar staff was amazing and the views make you feel like you're not in the urban sprawl of LA. I can't wait to come back again.

Wow! We had the best experience at this family owed boutique hotel. Lots of Hollywood history to be had. It's a private family friendly quiet hotel. From the outside you wouldn't even know it existed. Above all, the staff is friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and willing to help. The rooms are clean and modern. I'm told there is a shuttle service if needed. There is restaurant called The Front Yard. We will have to try it on our next visit. Gilbert at the front desk is the best. Dominic was nice enough to show me around the hotel and explain some of the hotels history. Thank you for making our stay inviting and memorable. We will definitely be back.

The Enchanted Manor was the first place we looked at and we both felt that it was the right fit. Georgia has created a little oasis in her back yard that we felt fit our vibe - lowkey, but classy. We had booked originally for approximately 60 guests, however once all the pieces fell into place we were closer to 50. Unfortunately our guest count dropped below 50 just after our window to let Georgia know, but she was kind enough to offer us the price difference. We applied that balance towards renting some heaters and lighting the fire pits as the weather got colder than anticipated, as well as to handling the trash. (Pay attention to the contract, you are responsible for removing trash or there is a fee.) One thing I didn't realize before booking was that there is space for a kitchen, but it needs to be built out for your event, so make sure you consider that into any costs. Georgia was really helpful and responsive to all of our questions (we had so many) and anything that we couldn't do she had very reasonable reasons. (For example, at one point I thought I'd like confetti, but she explained why she doesn't allow that on her property which made total sense!) The weeks before I became worried that there wasn't enough decor, so we bought some items that we ended up returning. Once the rentals arrived, combined with the lighting, everything was beautiful as it was. Though there is excellent lighting, I would recommend watching your step as we did have a few tripping incidents (that were not alcohol fueled in some cases) as the ground changed. It was more due to the way things were spaced and we'd have to make sure to look down as we stepped around things, but we managed to survive. We've started to see some photos and everything looked beautiful; it was a romantic but relaxed vibe which was just what we wanted. I worried it wouldn't feel like a wedding, but it did. Georgia was a gracious host, our guests enjoyed her home (we made sure to tell them that they could rent it as well for an overnight getaway) and we can't wait to start reading her book. She gave us the sweetest compliment after, saying how kind our guests were and how that spoke to who my husband and I were as well. We stayed in touch after the wedding and I hope we meet again in the future for events or just a dinner to hear of her adventures! PS - her cats were big hits all around, too!

Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, enjoying a romantic date night, meeting friends for brunch, or simply treating yourself to an unforgettable meal, Ca' Del Sole delivers every single time. A realtor I recently worked with to sell two properties wanted to catch up and present me with a little something for the opportunity at Ca' Del Sole. I'd driven by this place since I often worked in the area or used the streets as a shortcut of sorts, while this was relatively close to his office in Studio City. Opened in 1994 by restaurateur Rudolfo Costella and fellow Venetian Master Chef Antonio Tommasi, the idea was to offer a glimpse into the atmosphere, cuisine, and culture of Northern Italy and a Venetian country inn in the center of the San Fernando Valley. Costella has since expanded his empire with a few more restaurants in Phoenix, AZ and Southern California, respectively. Would I feel at home under the guise of the warm Northern Italian sun!? PURCHASE(S) Breads & Dipping Sauce (COMP): Fresh puffy warm breads and an olive tapenade dipping sauce was a beautiful way to get this lunch started! It was refillable, but we were good. Peroni Nastro Azzurro Pale Lager Beer 5.1% ABV 12floz Bottle ($7.00): Amber honey color, honey malty aroma, light body, light bready malty flavor, clean effervescent finish, and a light malty sweet aftertaste. An easy Italian birra! Squash Blossoms 3pc ($21.95): We shared this lovely appetizer that was airy and lightly fried with a creamy sauce bed. I loved this creative healthy dish! Minestrone Soup Bowl ($13.50): Loaded with a bunch of fresh vegetables and a low-sodium broth, this was hearty and simple, but I liked my realtor's soup more. Asparagus Soup Bowl ($13.50): My realtor let me try his soup, which was an odd nuclear-yellow color, creamy, light, and silky smooth - heavenly! Shrimp Fusilli ($23.95): Homemade green fusilli and medium shrimp in a buttery creamy sauce topped with grated cheese, the portion was smaller than expected, but each bite was blissful, and I used the bread to wipe down my bowl! Salmon Farfalle ($23.95): My realtor let me try his heaping entree portion of thick chunks of tender salmon and velvety pasta in a butternut squash sauce - yummy Valet Parking ($7.00): Cash only, there weren't any other onsite options. SERVICE Once we arrived for our reservation, the lovely young hostess sat us in a relaxing cabana outside in the back patio where we were greeted by a friendly older gentleman server armed with menus and glasses of water. We took forever to order (sorry!), so he went over the specials, which we pretty much ordered from. Our drinks and bread basket arrived quickly followed by the appetizer, then our soups, and finally our entrees all spaced out as they checked on us regularly. Everything was casual and professional - grazie! PARKING ($7.00; valet only): They had a private lot. Otherwise, I should've done what my realtor did and parked along the main drag of Cahuenga Blvd. with meters - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A deceptively large layout once you entered the waiting area with a separate bar area nearby, an indoor dining area off in another direction, and then the amazing outdoor dining area with its mix of cabanas and open-air tables among plants and trees. Obviously, there was plenty of natural light outside (I couldn't say about the inside) while various electric lights covered the rest. It had a very European relaxed feel. I saw a TV in the bar area but couldn't recall any background music other than the street traffic. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I was so happy to finally try Ca' Del Sole and couldn't wait to return, especially to try their Happy Hour (MO-FR 5pm-Close in the bar lounge area only; everything $5.00). The food was awesome, the menu selection was vast, the prices were a touch elevated, the atmosphere was European casual, and the service was top-notch. Plus, I preferred to support small mom & pop businesses whenever possible (sure, they owned a few other restaurants). I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $127.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

Omar and his team are among the best in this business because they truly care and want your event to be successful. They are a literal dream to work with. They offer a beautiful space that can be transformed into just about anything with state-of-the-art A/V systems and screen projections. They are able to offer many things in-house that you would otherwise have to find with outside vendors. Their kitchen is top-notch and the bartenders know how to make your guests happy. They are flexible and easy to work with from the first moment you meet them. On top of all that, their prices are reasonable and the quality you get back is worth what you pay. I am so grateful to Omar and his entire team for being such a pleasure to work with!

Unacceptable: Racism, verbal abuse, and physical aggression from staff…read more I had a terrible and completely unacceptable experience at Candela La Brea. Due to an Uber address mix-up, we ended up at this location by mistake. Upon arriving near closing time, we just asked if we could come in for a drink as we believed this was a bar: After being told it was a private event, I calmly tried to explain our Uber mistake. Instead of handling the situation professionally, a female staff member completely lost her temper. She started screaming at us, talked to us terribly, and physically aggressed us and telling us to go away. Given the unprovoked hostility and the way she treated us, I strongly believe her behavior was racially motivated because we are not from America. She tried to physically attack us. Her actions were so completely out of line and unwarranted that even several guests from the private event came over to apologize to us for her deplorable conduct. No one should ever be subjected to discrimination, verbal abuse, or violence over a simple misunderstanding. I highly advise avoiding this place, customer service, safety, and basic respect are completely nonexistent here. To make matters worse, I didn't even say a word to provoke her, she completely misdirected her anger at us just because of other people standing nearby. Being targeted, screamed at, and pushed when you haven't done or said a single thing is completely unhinged. She literally screamed right in our faces: "Hell no! Get the fuck out of here!"
