In town from Cincinnati Visiting in-laws and realized by hair needed cut, bad. Decided to get a cut while I was in town and I lucked out on find Ron's. Such a cute salon that feels very high end. They were able to fit me in without an appointment. Ron himself cut my hair and it turned out great and he's so personable! Would definitely come back next time I'm in town and need a cut. read more

LOVE RON!! My ombré turned out amazing. I'm not from the area and am pretty picky about who touches my hair....my friend has beautiful hair and goes to him so I took a chance. So glad I did! He is adorable and really knows what he is doing, if you need a expert-I recommend him. If you want a Brazilian or bikini wax, go somewhere else. More on that later. I cannot vouch for hair services; I did not have one done. I went on Thursday evening. The staff was courteous and friendly. I was greeted promptly and offered a choice of beverages (including wine) upon arrival. As I filled out my new client paperwork, I observed a clean, well organized salon. The decor was updated and the space open and bright. The hours of operation are convenient for working people; they stay open til 8pm some nights and have Saturday hours. The service prices were reasonable. Now to my wax: This was my first time here after going to the same waxer for over 2 years (I moved from another state). I had a French bikini done, which removes more than an American bikini but less than a Brazilian. To summarize: I've been getting Brazilians for over two years from the same waxer, and never once had a complication beyond normal waxing side effects. The first time I went to the waxer at Ron Wilson, she removed a lot of skin at the bikini line on both sides, rendering me in such pain that I couldn't wear underwear for 3 days. Read on for the details. I was taken to a separate room for esthetic services. The adjustable table faced the door, which could create privacy issues if the esthetician had to open the door for any reason. It was locked to prevent intrusions, however. The table was covered in paper (like the doctor's office) and the room was clean. The wax started fine. Wax was a good temperature, strips were clean, sticks weren't reused. Things went wrong when she got to my bikini line (right where underwear elastic sits). Mind you, I had 1/2-3/4" of growth, but wasn't Chewbacca. The pull was exceptionally painful, then she asked if I'm a bleeder. I said I wasn't, and that my previous waxer made me bleed only once. I looked down to see blood flowing from the bikini line! I'm ok with some blood from follicles, which is normal, but my skin was gone! She put gauze over the area and proceeded. Things were fine until she got to the other side and pulled skin off again! I was bleeding profusely from both legs and certainly could not wear underwear. The areas where my skin stayed on were fine, although I was in serious pain. She was pretty rough in cleaning me up when finished. No big bandages were available, so she taped cotton balls over my wounds. I was still bleeding and the table looked like I'd been stabbed. I couldn't wear underwear for 3 days due to the pain. If this had been my first wax, I'd never get waxed again. I won't be returning. read more

I had a very unfortunate experience after I had my hair colored at this salon. I had the owner call me after I left the salon and conduct himself in a very disrespectful and unprofessional manner. Due to the condition of my hair, he implied that I rejected suggested services to ensure that my hair would not become more damaged and to maintain good condition of my hair. He suggested that I told his stylist how I wanted my hair treated, which was categorically not true. I was not offered any services for this treatment while I was at the salon, nor would I have ever rejected any services if they were recommended. It is unfortunate because I was pleased with the hair coloring that my stylist performed but I would never go back due to the way that I was treated after I paid for my services. read more

Long story short...Had an appointment with the owner (Ron Wilson) for a color and cut...Was early for my appointment, as I was waiting, I was watching Ron finger dry this girl's hair (note that her hair looked terrible!!, in my opinion...plus he was drying her hair the same way I do when I don't feel like doing my hair...mind that I was going to pay $140.00 for this?) that was my first sign....That bothered me, if you're paying for a "blowout/Style you want some brush action!!! It just turned me off the way he was handeling her hair...So I asked the girl behind the counter, why is he not using a brush to blow out her hair? Before anyone could answer, Mary the man/girl behind the counter yelled at me: Then let's cancel this appointment,this isn't going to work out, I was cool calm and collective...and went to walk out, When Ron who was working on this poor girls hair yelled out what's going on, Mary the he/she yelled: She wants to know why you're not using a brush to blow her hair out...Then Ron yelled, get out, how dare you question me!!! Lol...I was leaving anyway....Very bad customer service!!! They could have handled it very differently !!! I wouldn't let them touch a hair on my head!!! They were very rude and extremely unprofessional!!! Stay away!!!! read more

I travel to this area of west Virginia every few months for work. This particular time I needed a hair cut and decided to give this salon a try. All I read were good reviews so it had to be fine right??? Wrong!!! Arrived at 645, 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment with Scott. No one greeted me. No one even acknowledged me. After about 10 min I was asked to fill out a new client form. Still no hi, how are you. Very cold atmosphere. The form asked for preferred stylist. I wrote Scott cuz that's who I was scheduled with. My confirmation voicemail even said I had an appointment with Scott. After sitting for another 15 minutes I was Informed that Scott would not see me? Why? He was standing right there. It's not my fault he got behind. The girl informed me she could do my hair but she didn't look competent enough to groom my dog. I asked why the couldn't call me to inform me of this since I had left a Christmas party in Huntington to get there. No answer. Then I over heard they were voted best salon!!! Hahahhahaa. How with this horrible customer service? I know a ton of people in this area and I hope word gets out NOT to go here. If customer service is this bad, I'm glad I didn't get my hair cut here!!! read more
