They're painfully understaffed, don't have air-conditioning (or even a fan), and are wildly disorganized. I thought I had an appointment there to get my nails done on my birthday. When I got there, I said I was there for my appointment, and they sat me in a pedicure chair like they were expecting me. At 48 minutes, one of the two employees finished with the manicure they were doing. At 49 minutes, they apologized for it taking so long. At 50 minutes, another guest walked in the door and their manicure immediately started. It was pretty obvious I was going to be sitting there sweating for a very long time if I stayed, so I left. It wasn't until later that I realized I had gone to the wrong place and my appointment was actually meant to be somewhere else. Look, I fully acknowledge that that was my fault. I messed up. BUT, if they didn't have time for me, and they didn't have an appointment on the books, why check me in? Why not say they weren't expecting me? Why seat me? They turned away lots of people who showed up after me, so why not me? If they'd said something, I could have made my other appointment, and actually gotten my nails done. But instead they wasted my time in an uncomfortably hot place. Instead of having a cute mani-pedi for my birthday dinner, I sweated my makeup off for nothing. read more

I love getting my nails done at Studio Spa in Hood River. Lana is always so wonderful and the staff there is always friendly, and do such a great job. I also love that I don't have to have a back up color!! To me that's huge because I've been places where I landed on my fifth pick before it was an available color. Got 2 haircuts there yesterday for my grandson (4) and myself. I can truthfully say, these were the worst haircuts I have ever had. Despite frequent directions, which they ignored - who knows why, they chopped up our hair. My poor grandson, the really butchered his hair! My wife stood next to them and kept telling the barber(a term I use only because he said he was) just kept ignoring my wives pleas to not cut the top of his hair - just trim the sides. She even asked him if he was hearing her - he was rude and said he did. If he did, then why did he ignore her directions? I have gone as far as to ask for a refund thru my credit card company. Terrible. Employees make no attempt to be friendly to customers. It is hard to communicate with them. A customer sitting next to me told the nail tech that she wanted her nails shorter and the tech said "no, these look better". My nail tech was clearly irritated with another employee and sheleft the building in the middle of my nail services so someone else came over to finish. My nails look like crap. Me and my boyfriend went to get our nails done here and we are very disappointed. We came an hour before close, but they had told us to wait another 30 mins, which would be no problem, except they were so obviously rushing through our nails so they could be done. They sliced me twice with the razor blade they called a nail file and seemed very unapologetic. Not to mention the fact that they left lots of excess acrylic underneath my nails. I believe that this is the worst nail service I have ever received. Lumpy gel polish applied thick and gloppy; uneven lengths; filing was quick and left a jagged angle instead a smooth curve that follows the shape of the finger tip; poor nail prep--my cuticles were just as dry and snaggle-toothed as when I arrived. I attempted to share my concerns, however, the tech just kept repeating that my nails looked pretty. I'm pretty upset...I came to get a pedicure thinking I was only gonna be paying $35 and ended up paying $51. I asked not to cut any shorter and the person that was doing my nails didn't listen to me. I got a French tip and the lines aren't even straight at all and I feel like they should be for the amount of money I ended up paying. The shop itself is fine, clean with modern equipment, but there aren't enough people working to cover their appointments and their treatments are substandard. We had three appointments at 11:00 am and only one of ours had been started by 11:30. We were pretty relaxed so we waited. Terrible. I hate this place. They charged $40 to do my nails and my husband who can't even remember what mascara is would have done a better job. Two of my nails have smooshed designs, one of them is literally crooked, and they're all placed in a weird way that cause everything to get caught on them. This place is just awful. I should have researched it before going. My 11 year old daughter wanted a manicure and I got a pedicure. I think because my daughter is a kid, they skipped a lot of the manicure steps. She basically got a file and paint. My pedicure was incomplete as well. The heel grating was too quick and then she never went back and pumiced or buffed my heels. As a result, the skin on the bottom of my feet is snagging and tearing. The foot bath water was cold (not even luke warm) and then i was charged $63 for these two services. I would say this is by far the worse pedicure I have ever received and I will never go back. I got a gel manicure and asked for it extra thick due to my nails being very thin, the lady working said okay no problem and assured me she would do that. Well, her baby was fussy (I get it daycare is expensive but her hubby didn't even look busy??) and she rushed through. I'm only giving them one star because I can't give them a zero I went to go get my nails done today asked for a coffin shaped nails medium length and I told the lady I wanted my nails not to be narrow when she was working on my nails I notice she was filing down the nail and ended up looking more like a stiletto tip instead of coffin when I asked her why she was overfilling the nail she said it was my fault because my nail was too small I said I did not like it I showed her a picture of what I wanted and how I have gotten my nails done before and other people have never had a problem with it I decided not to get color on them because I was so dissatisfied with the nails and she got mad got up and left. I am truly disappointed with our last experience at Studio Spa on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. I scheduled an appointment for 4 of us to get pedicures at the same time a few days in advance. When I arrived there were 2 nail technicians there. Fair enough, it's a Wednesday but I should have been advised that they don't have 4 nail techs available and would do 2 of us at a time. The young male nail tech was playing a video game on his cell phone when we arrived and hardly put the game down the entire time we were there. He stopped in the middle of my friends daughters pedicure to play games on his phone TWICE. My friend said "excuse me sir, could you work on my daughters feet?". No apology whatsoever. It's as if he truly sees no issue with his unprofessionalism. He was on his phone so much that this extended our time spent there because we were waiting for our pedicures. He was playing on the phone even while at the sink to rinse tools. Un-freaking-believeable! I will not be back.... read more

I went to get a pedicure which was subpar. Messy toes when I was done and a five minute massage. I had a shellac manicure as well, they couldn't find the color I originally wanted so I had to pick another one. The first round of my nails were so bad I asked them to redo it. Clear shellac all over my fingers and the color was very uneven. They were kind about redoing it but I probably won't be back. read more

Had a set of French Gels done two weeks ago for mani and pedi and it has been the most beautiful outcome I have ever had. They are holding up superbly even though I have been on the job doing nails myself. I couldn't have asked for a warmer more friendly atmosphere. This place is Terrible. I was met with a very rude young Asian woman. She was highly aggressive with my manicure and she proceeded to cut my cuticles so badly I was bleeding. She then tried to put some solution to make it stop bleeding and continue the manicure but I stopped it stating I did not want her to work on me anymore. My nails were left in rough unfinished condition and she still charge me $20. When I questioned it she said that was what it was for a manicure even though she never finished a manicure. I told her I would report her to her owner and she said fine go ahead she didn't really care. I've been here before and it's gotten worse and worse and worse as the years have gone by Don't bother to even walk in there. They also own the salon down by Safeway. Studio Spa is the only place I go in Hood River to get a pedicure. It is reasonably priced, the owner is nice and the pedicures consistently meet my expectations. The best part is the special pink butterfly chair. My daughter gets a pedicure along with me because it's cheaper than a baby sitter and she loves getting pampered too. I hoped my experience was a one off but it looks like that's not the case based on the other reviews here. I've been here before and had a decent experience but today was not so good. My Pedicurist was very friendly but I think she finished the job in about 7 minutes. I wasn't sitting there long enough to relax let alone let my feet soak. She started scrubbing my heels before they'd even touched the water and now, an hour later my feet are the same callused, beat up, summer sandal wearing feet of a kayaking mountain biker that they were when I entered. Complete with a messy polish job and $30 less to spend on beer. I'll be checking out Dove's down on Cascade next time I feel like pampering myself a bit. read more
