When we moved to the Prince George area I called around to many schools in the area. Jennifer was…read morethe first to call me back. The kids here enjoy a bully free zone. They are able to dance and never worry about being bullied. The instructors here are all great.

This place is a nightmare- their competition dancers are fine, but the rest they couldn't care less…read moreabout. Their tap classes are a joke, utilizing the same moves from Kinderdance to advanced. Their gymnastics classes don't even get to flips, just cartwheels, and their jazz is average. Ballet is good. Her business is kept afloat by a few key families which you'll notice during their end of year recital because they are in 6-8 dances a piece. There is a heavy focus on costumes, props, and wandering around the stage rather than ACTUAL dancing, and their recital gets very boring very quickly. But that's just the icing on the cake- don't plan to use your card to pay for anything besides the classes- almost everything is cash only. Their teachers play favorites, and those that didn't departed abruptly in the middle of the year surrounding a few rumors that were less than kind about the owner. Regardless as to the truth of said rumors, it is quite obvious that there is a LOT of drama going on and it is significantly, (and detrimentally), affecting her business. There are several costs at various times that crop up out of nowhere- can't be in the parade unless the OUTER layer says Dance Kraze, have to wear the right colored tights (and if your class has two outfits, it's different colors for each), super expensive & poor quality pictures, etc etc. The end of the season is BRUTAL in unexpected expenses, so just be prepared. It's also run through her friends and family, which probably has a lot to do with the expense. With perhaps one exception (Thank you Jason), her event staff is indescribably rude and disrespectful, in addition to being inconsistent. Gods forbid you say anything about it, because they will get in your face and try to power play you to get you to cower in submission and retreat. Or ignore you. Or try to walk through you. Not a place I will ever be returning to. And yet the biggest problem is the fact that the recital was held in a school with LIVE CAMERAS and there were girls CHANGING IN THE HALLWAYS WHO WERE NOT TOLD, DESPITE the fact that the dance studio was informed. Well beyond acceptable to me. We will most DEFINITELY not be returning next year.

We loved our lessobs with Dancemasters, and had a great time learning our wedding choreography…read more Scheduling was always flexible and easy and package pricing was reasonable. We worked with several instructors and also attended group classes (free with our private instruction packages), which covered everything from the basics of rhythm to turns and variations on several different steps. Dance masters is really a community and even other, more advanced, students were even willing to help while my husband and I practiced our form. We met a lot of great people over the course of a few months and truly had a fun time. Throughout the process, we worked with Katherine and Rock to select a few steps that fit our music but allowed us to remain natural and not seem "too choreographed." I was taking father/daughter lessons out of town at another studio simultaneously with my lessons here in Richmond and not only were they twice as expensive, but they were much less fun. Dancemasters kept our lessons to 20-40 minutes a piece (with practice at the end), and I found that to be the sweet spot for leaning without becoming frustrated with yourself or your partner. The only con that comes to mind was that there were a few times when the studio was very crowded and we were completely unsure not of where we were supposed to be practicing/felt rushed out of our scheduled lesson time. However, I would still recommend Dance masters not only for their wedding choreography but also for a fun date night out!
