Beautiful, well-appointed building, lobby sitting areas, restaurant, etc. Staff were friendly and very accommodating with bag storage, delivering bags to our room before we returned, restaurant recommendations and more. The rooftop is big with pool, bar and a number of seating areas for a 360 view of the city. Relaxing place to sit with a drink. Spa in basement is nice with all amenities. You have to reserve use and it's capped at 30 mins. Rooms are decent size allowing for suitcases and still moving around room. Bathroom is clean and has everything needed including heated towel rack and bidet. Although robes weren't included we found some at spa we used for the remainder of our trip. Lobby is very spacious and comfy, and there is live music in Thur-Sun. Great place to relax with a drink after exploring all day. Breakfast was extensive and a nice start to each day. Included made to order as well as plenty of ready made options for all palettes. The Not as Good We reserved both a superior and classic room but couldn't tell the difference for an additional 130 euros. The front desk said the superior had "more light." Potentially but not sure that was described as difference for what we paid. The rooms lack power outlets. Nothing by bedside. USB by desk but no USB-C or Int'l plugs. We had phones plugged in behind chairs, tea kettle sitting on floor, laptop in bathroom... The subway is underneath the hotel and even though we're on the 4th floor it was loud with lots of vibration. We had Do Not Disturb on for our entire trip but staff entered regardless and made up room. Not a big deal but surprised us and meant we had to put our belongings away every time we left not knowing who would enter when. Overall it was a pleasant stay and we would come back but many hotels we passed by looked like good options as well.

When my husband booked, he was able to add some special touches for our anniversary through their booking options. Once I walked into the room, there were a dozen long-stemmed roses, champagne, and chocolate cake! The room was very nice and looked out to the street. Our package also included breakfast each morning and the hotel also has a rooftop restaurant as well as a spa. I definitely felt pampered durning our stay.

Location was excellent, did not have to take public transit or taxi anywhere except flight/train station with our luggage. Loved the breakfast, although sometimes our orders got mixed up, perhaps because sometimes a few members of the party weren't there and that could've confused the servers. The breakfast area is quite bright and spacious. I felt very welcome. A server offered to pack some food the day we were leaving since our taxi had arrived. The Punch is a beautiful place and we took advantage of the pool table. Chocolate mousse was very rich--raspberry sorbet was an excellent addition to cut through the richness.

There's some things were true and we love that the location is convenient to Gothic Quarter & El Born area it's walking distance to everything we'll give it that. The Rooftop is only on the 10th Floor enough view to enjoy, the ambiance is super nice specially @ nite when the fire pit is lit. During the day, it was too hot and at nite it was a bit windy when we were there end of April. The pool is simple and definitely just for display, maybe 12 people can fit standing, lol. The food wasn't bad and not cheap, Mediterranean flair. The lobby bar was nice and service friendly. Also just FYI, there's no specific drop off hotel entrance so you just stop on the street, you have to have the cab get the bellman to help with the bags. The hallway and elevator was too dimmed and the rooms are tight but we like the peekaboo shower and the bench window. There's a speakeasy bar on the 2nd floor which was nice and they offer apps as well and craft cocktails were awesome w/ great service. Basically, you're paying for the location convenience but compare it to other Edition Hotel it's not but I guess it depends on location space wise but we expected more for the value/price. They did offer champagne at check in & a welcome fancy chocolates in the room, which is a nice touch and should be a standard at this price point in every hotel.

The location is truly unbeatable - just a block away from Plaça de Catalunya, a couple of blocks from a major metro stop and several main bus lines, a few blocks from great shopping and with good casual food scattered throughout. It's a great central spot for sightseeing where you're primarily relying on public transit, but also quiet and safe if traveling solo. I booked a signature room through my travel agent, and was delighted that they allowed me to check in a couple of hours early AND upgraded me to a signature balcony room. The hotel is very cute snd colorful, with modern design. The room was clean and pretty spacious, and the balcony was such a nice touch! I liked opening the windows every afternoon and sitting on the chaise and reading. There are refillable water stations on each floor by the elevator, which was a small but big perk to me. Awesome water pressure and temperature, kind, attentive service by staff, and incredible rooftop bar made this a fun place to kick off my stay in Spain. Small gripes: As a short person was the bathroom tub was a bit tall for me to climb into and out of. There was not a true fridge/freezer in the room; the staff was kind enough to store something in their freezer for me but it felt too out of my way to ask them to do it too often for me. The lobby bar drinks were fine but nothing to write home about. Overall though this is such a great hotel and I'd absolutely stay here again. It feels luxe but had very reasonable rates, even right after Easter which is peak tourism. The rooftop bar is very much worth a visit, beautiful views of the city and a fun, lively vibe. I cannot recommend this hotel more!

I had thought having our hotel in this area would have been a mistake, knowing about the pickpocketing and protests from locals regarding tourists. Yet I found it so convenient to many attractions within walking distance, just a block away from the metro station, souvenirs in the shops, with late night spots if you're hungry, and being close to a few markets. The room was spacious and modern. We slept well in their comfortable king bed. We were given slippers and a bathrobe along with the typical amenities like hair dryer, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. There was even a bathroom scale! Something I rarely see in hotel rooms these days. Our package deal included breakfast at their daily buffet. And it's one of the better buffets that actually has a made-to-order-eggs table. I love that there's a personal chef for those who like their eggs a certain way. They had many Spanish cured meats, cheeses, fruits, salads, pastries and bread, cold cereals, yogurts, coconut chia seed pudding, churros and chocolate (though it was not like a churros shop), and even congee, blended smoothies and power green drinks as well as fresh squeezed juices. We were impressed to see a few different items changed on a daily basis to keep the buffet fresh and new. I liked it better than the buffet we had in Madrid, despite it having a better hotel rating. The front desk staff was super helpful when we needed a family metro pass for 8 trips verses getting an unnecessary unlimited pass. That saved us money! She directed us to the metro station up the block and had us buy a family T pass. This was only €12. You would scan and let one person go through first while keeping the pass to scan yourself in. You can scan multiple times because it is for a group and not an individual pass. If I visit Barcelona again, I wouldn't hesitate coming back to Le Méridien! It was perfect for all our needs!

10/31 Le Meridien…read morewas born with the idea of providing Air France staff a place to stay when transiting during the Starwood years. Now, as a Marriott owned brand; Le Meridien continues the French spirit within their walls. Purpose: my first ever Transatlantic cruise in Spain began in Barcelona, and I was able to book a stay with this Le Meridien property in the center of town and 10 minutes to the cruise terminal. Location: Plaza de Espana is roughly 10 minutes by foot, nestled in a baroque building, and foot steps away from major transit lines, shopping, dinning, and entertainment. The cobble stones were very, well cobbly; considering that construction on the curbs lining the walkable streets were on-going. Conveniently 30 minutes away from and to the Barcelona airport by way of shuttle. At First Glance: you will find the main entrance to the hotel after making a turn into an alley way. Bell staff are eager to assist with luggage when making way up the marble steps to enter the hotel. The lobby is flanked with a cafe and seating area to the left. Men's and women's restrooms are in the center of the lobby, while to the right sits the front desk/concierge/bell desk and to the far right are the guest elevators and hotel restaurant. I found that the design of the lobby is reminiscent of; can I say classic French (think - semi translucent glass, red oak, black finishes, and velvet furniture). The Welcome: the registration agents were quite cheerful. It was roughly 11am and I was fully aware and prepared to hear that our room was not ready. The agent assured that I'll get a call as soon as my room is ready. Our luggage was collected, stowed, and distilled waters were provided to us for the long day ahead. We received a call back with the hour, though we did not return until later in the evening. The Room: the same design language seen in the lobby is carried out through into the guest room. A small balcony, while doesn't seem to allow a single person to walk onto, it does open to provide fresh air. My only caveat for the room was that the glass door to the bathroom wouldn't close entirely but that the room was spacious, clean and functional. While our room was assigned to the 2nd floor (3rd floor in actuality) we did not hear too much street noise. Having traveled for 18+ hours and being extremely tired; being able to sleep in a comfortable bed was much needed. The Next Morning: as a Bonvoy Platinum member; I opted in receiving buffet breakfast for 2 in lieu of welcome points. European hotel breakfast hits differently in comparison to those enjoyed in the United States; variety being the biggest draw. I came into the restaurant with my eyes wide open and scouring all of the hot stations. Everything offered was absolutely delicious. There cherry on the top; a mimosa station - a game changer. We bided adieu to our one night stay at this Le Meridien hotel, thankful for a full nights rest and looking forward to a future stay whenever that may be.

The issue I had was with the woman at the front desk Thursday evening around 6:00. She was very abrupt and impatient when I asked her to change a 10 euro for 10 coins. She snaped I only have a 5 euro and 5 coins! I told her I needed the change for tipping. She repeated the same thing abruptly. Ok, I understood that but to snap back at a customer is unacceptable! I just walked away and thanked her. She was at the front desk with another gentleman who I wished I had asked instead of her. After my stay here I would not return. I spent a lot of money here and can't justify putting up with a bad attitude. The lift is really slow so if you're in a hurry it will test your patience! When I was checking out the guy at the front desk on Tuesday morning at 5:00 was very unprofessional to say the least. I was in a hurry because the lift was so darn slow and my ride was waiting early. So, I proceeded to give him the keys and told him I was checking out. He said you need to pay for breakfast. I did. Then I told him again I had to go! He raised his voice at me. I told him he was unprofessional. He said, you're unprofessional. I told him I was going to do a review. He didn't care. I told him to shut up! He said, ya ya!

The Barcelona boqueria is, in my opinion, the best market in Europe, within a two minute walk of Hotel Turin, on a quiet, safe street. They hotel room had its own thermostat, to adjust to your preferred temperature, which was necessary on the very cold night that I was there, the room was simple, but adequate, the bed was comfortable in the hotel was quiet for sleeping. The breakfast was very very good, with a large selection of fresh fruits, breakfast meats and cheeses, cereal, eggs, breakfast meats, and home cooked breads and pastries. Highly recommended. Quite reasonably priced for the excellent location. The safe in my room did not work, and there was no plug in the bathtub to take a bath. I had to take a shower. However, I imagine a phone call to the front desk could have fixed both of these issues. I simply didn't have time to make the call.
