From the second we arrived at the dock, Charlie made my friend and I feel completely at ease. One of my favorite things about him is that you can tell from the minute you start talking to him that he's not out to exploit the sharks in any way. After tagging over 2,600 sharks, Charlie really just wants to share his knowledge with you and provide a deeper understanding of these animals. His heart is completely in the right place, and he is amazingly authentic and kind. And as for the actual shark-diving experience, it was genuinely one of the coolest things I've ever done in my life. We had EIGHT sharks around us total, and after a while, they came right up to us! I was nervous at first getting into the water, but after a while, you realize that the sharks are just more curious than anything and far more interested in the fish we were giving them. I could have stayed in the water ALL DAY. I would go back again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Charlie, for your kindness, patience, and natural teaching ability. I had the best day, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is considering this amazing experience!

We legit were hooking into 2 and 3 fish on a single rig. I caught sport fish until my arms were tired. After an incredibly active morning we switched over to Black Sea bass and were hooking in left and right. His deck hand was supreme and attentive to keep lines in the water. On the boat ride back she cut the fish into filets and bagged em up! He also offers shark fishing, shark dives, champagne sunset tours and a plethora of other oceanic options. The mate, Matt, kept us entertained and both were so knowledgeable on the area and it's fishing holes. I have been on other charters in the area, but this was by far the best trip. A mixed bag here. The whale watch I went on wasn't very fruitful. There were only a handful of…read morewhales and no dolphins. And the whales that we did we see weren't very close. Apparently, there was a school of tuna close by, and the whales were feeding on them below the water according to the shipmates. Now, that isn't exactly something within their control, and it's not like I was expecting the whales and/or dolphins to pose for pictures. Nonetheless, I was hoping for a little better of an experience. It's about a 4.5-hour experience with about 45 minutes of actual whale watching and the rest of the time spent getting to the spot and back. You can't really here anything the captain is saying unless your directly under the speaker. The trip could be a little better if they played some music on the way and back, but again, you wouldn't be able to really hear it that good. Having said all that, all staff encountered were pleasant and friendly and it was a pleasant ride to and from. Overall I would say it probably wasn't worth the price ($70). If I had seen more whales/dolphins I'd probably feel different. And again, I realize it's not something they can control, but it does have to factor into the rating.

A group of us went out on the Drifter in June of 2013 and I have to say I was quite impressed…read more Capt. Rich put us on the fish almost immediately and kept lines tight just about all day. The other thing I really liked about this boat was that he has 2 fighting chairs, which came in handy as we frequently had 2 people fighting fish at one time. Great fishing can make any captain look good, but what impressed me the most about Capt. Rich was how he reacted when things started to slow down. Whether it was changing rigs or changing spots, you could always tell that the captain was hard at work to keep us in the fish, something he was very successful at. This was my first time out on the Drifter but it certainly won't be my last. If you're looking for the perfect fishing boat and a captain who knows how to keep his clients' lines tight, I highly recommend you give the Drifter a look.

Fortunately the captain of the boat my family was on was prepared and kept them safe. When Reel to Reel turned at the last possible second he then waked the boat. This is horrible and he is a danger to anyone on the water. Next report will be to the Coast Guard! Stay away from charter.

Don't bother Tuna fishing with these people. Went on an 8 hour trip looking for tuna, all we did…read morewas troll the entire time. The Captain didn't even bring any bait on the boat to try and hit tuna that were deeper while other boats were announcing over the radio they were hitting tuna ~75 feet deep. Literally only used topwater lures. None of the 6 of us guys who booked the trip even touched a rod the entire time, would not recommend.
