Just a tremendous experience during our recent sunset cruise. Aboard one of their 12m boats, it was…read morea great way to view Newport from the waterside. The crew was exceptional and provided not only sailing tips but also facts and trivia about the city, places to eat and the America's Cup races. The boat is not overbooked or crammed with passengers which adds to the specialness of the trip. For those wanting, there is the opportunity for hands-on involvement raising the sails. Pro-tip: While water and seltzer are offered, you can bring your own white wine, beer and hard seltzer aboard to enjoy as the sun sets.

I was looking for something different to do and came across America's Cup Charters. We opted for the daily 2-hour ticketed sail. Our 12 meter yacht was the 12 US 17 Weatherly, which is a legend and one of the three surviving wooden America's Cup defenders in the world. Bruce, Erica (the skipper), James, and Rebecca were super nice and extremely knowledgeable about the boat, sailing, history, and landmarks in the area. Erica had great command of the vessel and was able to make things fun while still ensuring the safety of everyone on board. Due to Covid-19, America's Cup Charter is limiting the number of people included in each tour and requires everyone to keep their mask on. I felt completely comfortable the whole time. I highly recommend the private charter and daily ticketed sail.

Such a fun way to celebrate a friend's bachelorette weekend!! We did a 4.5 hour ride on The Heron…read morewith Captain Cameron and his fabulousss first mate Kristen (Kiki) and we had simply the best time. For starters, THEY HAVE A DOG AND HER NAME IS TOLA AND SHE IS SO CUTE AND FRIENDLY AND SO SOFT??? So we were immediately off to a great start. Then, Kiki gives us our safety briefing which was quick, thorough, and punctuated with a round of rum punch that she brought to all of the guests. Kiki really came in clutch with some fabulous Kate Chastain energy (for those of you who don't watch Below Deck - that means she's fabulous, gorgeous, friendly, and very good at her job) and she took such great care of us. The ship itself is a beautiful and impressive double-masted catamaran that we got to learn about during our voyage. The bean bags all over the main deck were SO comfy, they had blankets to keep us warm when the wind picked up, and the deck had two big cutouts that were covered with this neat rope-rigging that was woven tight enough that there was no danger of falling through but loose enough that we got to see the water right below us! We dropped anchor in a super cute little bay where we hung out, took pictures, enjoyed drinks and a very nicely-arranged charcuterie board, and even though the water was freezing Kiki brought out the "Lily Pad" which is basically a giant floating mat we could all sit on/hang off of in the water while we paddled around! Can't say enough good things about Kiki who was so fun and brought such a lovely vibe, and even took our phones to get pictures and videos of all of us having fun so that we could be present and engaged with each other! If you want a five star sailing experience in Newport, do yourself a favor and book with Heron Luxury!!

The experience boarding, sailing, swimming and paddle boarding made for the perfect day with friends. We brought catering, which they promptly served and allowed us to sit comfortably on the bean bag chairs in the sun. Our glasses were never empty and we can't wait to return next season. I was extra impressed with Captain Cameron's navigating during the Bermuda Race launch that week as we spectated amongst hundreds of boats. Highly recommend! Thank you for the memories, Heron crew!

I wish I would have done more research because Captain Mike is 100% a scam artist!!! Do not book!…read moreHe said he would be in Boston to provide a sunset sailing in May 2019 and then the week of my vacation he said he would only be in Rhode island at the time I specifically told him I'd be on vacation. He said he would mail me a check for refund and has been avoiding me ever since! I'm still disputing the charge with my bank! Unbelievable!! I can't believe he's still in business!

I was a victim of racism/racial profiling while vacationing in Rhode Island. Here is my story:…read more I booked a private yacht through a company called Brady Yachting. I told the Captain ‍ Mike that I would be bringing along my 15 year old sister and my 3 year old son. He said it was fine. I spoke with the captain several times on the phone and via email 2 days before, the day before and the day of the ride. First of all, he expressed how he knew for a fact that I couldn't afford the $350 yacht ride. He kept reciting this over and over to me. I was very upset because the hair that's currently on my head is over $500. My baby shower was over $10,000 and I can afford pretty much whatever I want. Just because I am a Black/African American woman doesn't mean that I'm broke and can't afford a lil $350 yacht ride. I was and still am very appalled. It's plenty of African Americans making 6 figures and making more than their Caucasian friends. Caucasians aren't the only bread winners in the world. I would never judge someone over the phone, just because of the color of their skin/race. Then he went on to criticize my name and ask me if he could call me something else for short because he didn't "care" for my name. He asked me "what kind of name is that?" and "why did me and my sister have the same name? (my sister's name has one letter different than mines). I said a quick prayer because I didn't want to go on a yacht with a racist bigot. The Lord heard my prayer and at the very end Captain ‍ Mike canceled my trip. His excuse was that I wasn't truthful to him. He said I never told him I was bringing my 3 year old son. Which was a bald fact lie I told him I was bringing my son from the start, I even asked him was the yacht kid friendly? ‍ he also stated that he was a reverend. God would never call a prejudice person to do His work. You have to love ALL people to be a Christian and do God's work. I would never recommend Captain Mike/Brady Yachting to anyone. I don't condone unprofessionalism, racist, ignorant behavior.
