They sent a older male rep. to our home who was clueless - very confused, re. what we were looking for (open top & bottom & split in the middle plantation shutters). He proceeded to make up an estimate sheet which we received by mail later (via mail), and still the estimate was confused. The official owner/salesman must have thought our sale wasn't worth his time (not big enough of a sale) to bother to come out himself, and instead sent this older man, instead. I have to say, I felt sorry for this older man as I thought he should have been retired. So, we wasted a good portion of our time we could have used on some other impt. project. We went elsewhere to get what we needed.

The quality was great, and Rick even went above and beyond to reinforce it so the same tear wouldn't happen again due to a plastic piece inside the seat. I went to another shop first who said it was impossible to fix it, and the only option was a complete new cover for $800- for less than a quarter of that I've got it taken care of. I would recommend taking your auto upholstery needs here.

That all sounded reasonable to me. We made an appointment for me to come in and pick out fabric. They have lots to choose from. As I narrowed down what I was looking for the sales lady helping me called to get prices - the fabric I liked the best was $92/yard. I needed 18 yards for the large piece so the cost of the fabric alone would have been $1700 plus cost of labor at least $1400 = $3100. I was also told if I found fabric at a lesser cost they would charge me a $15/yard cutting fee to use fabric I didn't purchase from them. That all sounded fishy to me. Bottom line I was able to source the SAME fabric from another fabric store in Lockport for !/2 the price these robbers were going to charge me. That store also gave the name of a few upholsters that they recommended - one which I hired to do the work. So now labor is cheaper, estimated less fabric, purchased a different fabric that I like better at the Lockport store at an even better price and this guy will not charge a cutting fee. I am getting the work done for almost 1/2 of what these theives at Upholsters Unlimited wanted to charge me. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF. Shop around you will be happy you did.

Traveling trough town in our RV, our largest blind broke. It is an accordion style blind and we…read morewere sure the strings had broken and that it needed restringing. We needed a quick repair as we were not planning on being in town more than 2 days. Called Sonic Blinds and explained our problem. They agreed to try and repair it if we could get it in quickly. We dropped it off and told them what we thought it needed. They quoted us a price that seemed quite fair., even at more than $100. When we went back to pick it up they explained that their tech had checked it thoroughly and that the wall mount that holds blind strings in RVs had failed. While they didn't carry the RV part,the tech took the time to "make" a replacement mount so we could be on our way. We were already thrilled with their service and honesty, but then they refused any payment from us, as the blind was not really broken. Just wish we didn't live clear across the US and could make them our go to people for blinds. You can feel really safe using them!

And they still didn't respect it? Totally unacceptable. The owner of the company basically told us they rush the big jobs so they can get to to other jobs that day and come back to finish the work at ours. ruined a few windows and brand new door while installing and ruined walls, told us the painters can take care of it. We didn't even have painters lined up.. totally disappointed by the professionalism and quality. But like I said, they were way cheaper than going with other companies. So you get what you pay for

If you don't have a truck or SUV, forget getting to work in the morning. And I am not even talking about your driveway, which you have to plow or shovel out yourself since it takes them forever to get to them. I am talking about your STREET!!! Streets are not plowed at all overnight and they don't start plowing until after 6am in the morning. And it is a slowwwwww process. I have an SUV and got stuck on my street this morning at 6am. No one plowed our streets all night. Got to the main road and it was fine. Extremely frustrating to pay $1600+/month and are told that plowing is not included and it is a courtesy that the company provides......even though town plows cannot come onto the property because it is privately owned. So if the property doesn't plow.....you are pretty much out of luck getting out. Beautiful townhomes, awful in the winter.

I've been contemplating whether or not to write a review about my experience with Pleasant Meadow…read moreTownhomes and decided it might be worth a read to those coming from out-of-town -- or needing to decide on a home sooner than later. *I will preface by saying my review is based on my interactions (mainly email) with associates who work at Pleasant Meadows and not as a renter.* After living in the Oklahoma City area for two years, my husband and I -- along with our two tots -- are moving back to the east coast, specifically, the Buffalo area. He recently was offered a job in the area that has our family moving much sooner than expected ... like, within a couple of weeks. Because of the urgency of needing a place to say, and because we've never lived in western New York (we were closer to NYC in the past), I frantically began searching for the best places to live that would be close to his job. I stumbled upon Pleasant Meadows and moved it to the top of my list as they have town homes you can rent. Not knowing the area and having to reintroduce ourselves to snow meant we did not want to rent a personal home and have things go south. When I first inquired about a 3 bedroom/2 bathroom town home, I was told by the associate none were currently available. I later inquired about their 2 bedroom/2 bathroom ranch homes and much to my surprise, heard there was one that is under construction and would be available around our desired move-in date. It was around these first emails that it was explained to us that a deposit would be needed to hold unit (a small portion of which is non-refundable) with the bulk being applied to the unit once we move in. The next sentence stated that people with a certain credit score would not be required to submit a security deposit. It was finally explained to us after a few emails and receiving the renter specs that the initial deposit is actually an application fee. We were asked to overnight a check for the application fee and submit our application to lease the unit, but thankfully, I was able to convince the associate to allow us to have our bank issue a check that would take a few business days. (I don't know when the last time was that I wrote a check as we operate electronically.) Things were pretty smooth over the course of the week that we worked with the associate. We turned in the application, proof of income, copies of driver's licenses and whatever else they required. Once we started looking at the lease, there were one or two line items that were interesting -- including a mention about needing to have blinds hung within a few days of moving, otherwise PM would purchase and install at our expense? (It's been a while since I lived in complex run by a property management company, but I thought this is included??) During that same time, a place we were originally looking at in Williamsville had a few 3 bedroom town homes open up with a special that priced them close to Pleasant Meadows. Comparing the extra space we would get -- including a basement -- and having continuous hardwood floors on the entire main level, versus the carpeted areas at PM, we decided to pull the trigger on the unit in Williamsville. Within a couple day's time, I sent an email to the associate working with us thanking her for her help and informing her that we would be moving forward with another company. That was six days ago (and counting). Today I received a call from a lady who I think might be the property manager asking whether or not we would be ready to move in soon. I'm not sure if our associate passed along the email I sent (that's been the only communication we've had), but she wasn't informed of the decision we made last week. When I inquired about the money for the hold, she let me know that all of it is no longer refundable. What irks me about this whole situation is not that the a line item mentioned this bit of info towards the bottom of the application, but that it was not mentioned in any emails with Pleasant Meadows or the renter specs. I also don't think alluding to the fact that I "sounded desperate to get a place," is quite professional -- especially when I never dealt with the female associate on the phone before. Because if I did, she might know that we were moving to the area from the middle of the country and only have a few week's time to decide on a place we'll never see until we get there. So yeah, I was trying to move and make decisions sooner than later, and I guess if that means I sound "desperate" in her eyes, so be it. At the end of the day, we lost out on a couple hundred dollars -- which the lady on the phone mentioned "wouldn't go very far here anyway" -- but it is what it is. I'm sure local residents wouldn't have issues like this because they can make decisions in person and likely wouldn't be on a time crunch to move a four bedroom home halfway across the country. So in line with Yelp's three-star description, my experience was OK.

In 40 years, I've had to replace only of the original 32 I had installed. And this was not a fault of the window but of the old house's window frame shifting on the weather side. They sell quality windows and doors, use experienced installers, and are well organized. DEALING WITH THEM IS SO EASY. When you phone, a company person answers the phone and responds to your need. DONE! Their follow-up repair service is also excellent. They respond, however small the problem.

We decided to go with Big L because they are local and felt like we wanted to support the "little" local company. We signed the contract and off we went. Our doors came in, were installed. They stiffed us on the first installation day, but then showed up unexpectedly a few days later. The problem is, the doors they installed were the wrong color and not what we ordered and the hardware was wrong. One screen was slashed from top to bottom. This wasn't evident until after they were installed. Our house is architecturally significant, and the installer had to create new holes and install hardware where there wasn't hardware before. Big L indicated they could just swap out the doors and get us the right color, but that that would leave us with holes and damage from the original installation. Not optimal. After MONTHS of badgering us for payment, but not making any effort to remedy the wrong hardware or ripped screen, we paid a reduced balance, and are left with doors that don't match our house, aren't what we wanted, and without any service to make it right. Oh, and the screen on one of them is still trashed. I wouldn't recommend Big L. There are lots of small companies out there. Try one of those instead.

Once I realized the need for a shed in our backyard and once I realized that I no longer have the time to purchase and construct my own shed I made the choice to spend some time online and driving around the area looking at different shed builders who would handle my project for me. I visited the usual Home Depot / Lowes etc and a couple of other places in the area before I took a chance and drove down Main St into Clarence to visit Homestead Designs. Their lot is located not too far from the Great Pumpkin Patch so certainly not somewhere that's convenient to visit but after not being wowed at other places I figured why not. After walking around their lot and looking at different designs I walked into the office and the gentleman who worked their was extremely helpful in explaining the different options and taking the time to walk me around looking at various sheds. I left impressed and after spending a few more days doing research decided to head back and order my shed with them. The process was simple and I was in and out of the office in about 15 minutes. He helped me pick my style and siding, along with making sure the shed matched the color scheme of my house. I happily paid my deposit and was told about 4-5 weeks for delivery. Throughout the process after, Heidi ( I believe she may be the owner ) was awesome, She made a small billing mistake which she corrected instantly and was extremely helpful in helping me provide the less than helpful village of Depew with the documentation needed for my permit, along with communicating to my landscape company the requirements for the shedpad.....she was AWESOME. Overall if you're looking for a company to build a custom made shed in Western New York I don't believe you'll find anywhere that's as impressive as Homestead Designs. They weren't the cheapest, they weren't even the most expensive but even if they were I think I would still be happy with my choice.

But I reached my…read morebreaking point when my neighbors' dogs kept using my yard as their toilet and left me to pick up after them almost daily. I called a few companies for estimates, but David the sales rep from City Fence was the friendliest and most helpful. He suggested I go with half vinyl/half chain link due to the size of my yard to keep costs down. Also had some other suggestions due to the extensive gardens I have in the yard. They weren't the cheapest nor the most expensive quote I received. After signing the contract, I was told it would be about 8-10 weeks (mid-fall) when they installed. They didn't get to my yard until January for the install and got 90% done within a week. Then- despite several phone calls to City Fence asking them to complete the job- they didn't return until April to put up the last few panels. And they only came out at that point because I refused to pay the final bill they kept sending me until the job was actually completed. Despite the fact that I love the fence and the installers did a great job, they're only getting 3 stars. Seems to be a real lack of communication between the sales reps and installers to let the customers know a realistic time-frame of when we can expect the fence to actually be installed. And then another breakdown between the scheduler and installers to actually get the guys to finish a job.

Creative Storage Systems is located on Linden near Delaware Avenue. It happened to be Black Friday, and although we were avoiding shopping, it wasn't too busy inside. Diana was a tremendous help as we were looking for a manly closet renovation. She listened to HoneyPie tell his saga about "parting the Dead Sea" of clothes to get to the pathetic shelving behind his shirts and mishmash of trousers, ties and ahem, Crocs mixed with Steve Maddens. Yeah, it was a mess. With the dimensions of our space, and inspired by some neat ideas on the floor, they put together a perfect solution! It was a DIY for us, although they do install, and we even picked up some cool pants hangers and other organizational goodies. If you don't get it when you see it, you probably will always mean to but won't. It's a tremendous improvement and what a difference organization makes to your life, really. Couldn't be happier. There is a workshop attached to the store where the custom projects are built. Local, yes please! Even if you aren't in the market for a new closet, you'll see lots of ideas from storage to lighting, garage to nursery to home office and it's plain fun to wander around and see the Creative Storage Systems store. Big high five all the way around, customer service to solid products and great solutions.

We removed the existing closet in the room, opened a passage through the master bedroom closet to connect the adjoining 4th bedroom/future closet, and had the hardwood floor repaired(where the.bedroom closet was removed) and resanded and sealed the floor. Design expert, James Harasimowicz, made me my dream closet! Every detail I asked for was included with a design flair I never could have accomplished on my own. There are places for short hanging items, longer hanging items, shoes, a vanity with drawers for makeup, another set of drawers elsewhere for jewelry, additional sectioned drawers for undergarments, a hanging rack for belts, a floor to ceiling architectural mirror, valet bars, shelves for folded items, a hidden drop down ironing board, and much more. The pass thru closet to the master is for my husband and on one side has a built in chest of drawers (8) with a handsome top and a mirror above. The other side has a wall closet unit with a bottom and top row for hanging clothes on the left and open cubbies for clothes and shoes on the right. On either side of that unit is a hanging rack for ties on the left and a hanging rack for belts on the right. I cannot say enough good things about James and his installation crew. It does take time. James needs to know what your wardrobe consists of, in order to provide you with the proper closet pieces. He then needs to show you design options in their Linden Ave. (near Delaware Ave.) showroom. Once decisions are made, the pieces must be made to order and an installation must be set up. Every minute of the wait is worth it. I have the closet of my dreams and the envy of all my friends.
