We wanted to take him home. As far as the shop itself goes it's a great size Joy with plenty of selection. There's a dressing room and men's department downstairs (I wasn't even aware Joy did men's clothes until I came into this store!) I don't mean to sound like an old lady but it's just not what it used to be. It makes such a difference to your shopping experience to have friendly and attentive staff. I don't want someone following me about the shop and being TOO attentive but COME ON! A little acknowledgement would be great! They seem to put all the friendly and helpful staff downstairs as both times I recently popped in I was greeted by two different fellas who were more than happy to help me but upstairs I was downright ignored by staff. Even when I came out the changing room there were 4 members of staff having a chat right outside yet none of them offered to take the clothes off me and I hung them on the rail myself. Turns out there's a branch just off of Fleet St. So the next day I hot footed it over there in search of the dress. They didn't have it. They did have a lovely collection of dresses and clothes, as well as fun gift book type things, costume jewellery, accessories, and girly home ware that I found immensely appealing. But I wanted that dress! The shop assistants were wonderful and ordered it in for me, it arrived the next Monday and I am now the proud owner of a lovely black dress and very very happy. The adjustable strap provides various options for over the shoulder or cross body. Typically there's a second set of handles to carry the bags over your arm. In most styles the bottom of the bag has protection for when you put it down. They're just all around versatile and pretty. I recently found a Cath Kidston dish towel in my cabinet. The colors are vibrant and it looks new. The material is very sturdy and naturally there's her logo sewn on perfectly. I make all my purchases online. Frequently there's a deal on shipping. As I approach the first rack I think 'how am I going to decide what to buy, I won't be able to choose!', but then when I have a look more closely the clothes sometimes disappoint - whether its a bit to fluffy or fussy, or too short/long/- I hate to say it, but sometimes the clothes look better from afar then they do up close. I saw a tartan mini dress in Joy the other day. I tried it on and the hem line ended just after my hips and the bust looked like it would fall down the moment you moved your arms. It didn't look like that on the model! When I had taken off the most ill-fitting dress ever, I headed over to the gift section. I quite like the whole kitchy, ironic -Elvis cup kind of thing, and I ear marked a couple of things that will make some good Christmas pressies. I guess this place is like a cheaper Urban Outfitters; providing the accruements needed for the girl with the urban lifestyle. I just wish that I had the figure to fit into that tartan dress.
