But what really makes this place special and different from other venues are the owners. John and Juanita are the absolute best! So accommodating, laid back, generous, fun, etc. I can't say enough about them and how easy they were to work with. Talk about low-stress planning. They made everything easy and fun for us. We all like them so much that we are trying to figure out what else we can book at their venue just to see them again! The upstairs area for getting ready is huge and great for on-site hair and makeup and pre-game photos. Lots of fun props up there. Their website is horrible. There 0 information on what's allowed or not, and then you bring balloon and confetti and they yell at you There is only one restroom and there were a lot of people. Our birthday "room" was in a hall with dividers - where others peoples were having a party. The service girl was constantly very stressed, Red in the face and kept bringing thighs we did not order lol. The last complain - I promise - the "DJ" was playing slow elevator music, from the 70's and kids all went off the rink and was just sitting in the small divider ))) I went to the DJ- asked for music suitable for 9-10 year girls and boys and girls my mum. He said 0- oh I don't what to play ((( maybe you make a music list and give to me? I gave him $20 and he forgot about the list. I would still go there w my kids - just to skate, in dark cold evenings- but if you are planning a birthday party, think again. Thank you. P.S. All along, Kyro simplified our planning tasks, recommended great vendors, and provided very valuable advice. On the wedding day, Kyro ran everything very smoothly, and managed to pull off an incredible event while navigating strong personalities across some of the vendors. When my fiancé (now wife) told me she wanted to get a coordinator, I thought we didn't need one…read more She insisted, and we ended up going with Kyro at Good Friend Events. After the wedding, I now think this was the best money we ever spent. Throughout the day, they made sure everything was taken care of perfectly. They told me when and where to go to keep everything moving on time, they coordinated all the setup, and made sure I didn't accidentally run into my fiancé before the ceremony. After the ceremony they were kind and smart enough to set aside some appetizers for my wife and I to enjoy in our room while we took a quick breather. We were too busy with pictures to have enjoyed them otherwise. They let us know when it was time to go down for dinner, which we had opted to do outside. We had some bad luck, and it was very hot and sunny - so much so that we decided we needed to move the dinner inside, and Kyro and her team got it all sorted in minutes. Our venue had very strict rules where we would be charged steep fines if everyone (including cleanup) wasn't out by a certain time, and she and her team made sure that everything went to plan. They packed our cars with everything we had brought, making sure we didn't forget a thing. We could not have made it through without the help of Kyro and her team. We cannot recommend them highly enough.
