On the day-of, she arrived promptly and got everything set up in plenty of time. She also ran the schedule and made sure all of our vendors and cues happened just the way we wanted. However, she has been ghosting me for several weeks now. She only attempted to meet with me once (I was out of town) and never tried again. Her contract stipulates that a venue walkthrough is required 6 months before the wedding. I am now well past that window and she never reached out for this nor did she respond to my email asking about it. I asked for part of my deposit back as she has done nothing in terms of planning for my wedding and unsurprisingly she has not responded. Your wedding coordinator is supposed to relieve stress, not cause you stress. I'm only glad this happened now and not a week before the wedding so that I can find a wedding coordinator who is actually willing to do their job.

She went above and beyond for my wedding. She made sure that everything went smoothly, everyone knew what they were supposed to do, and that we stuck to our time schedule. My wedding was seamless thanks to Zarah. At first I didn't think that I needed a wedding planner because I'm so organized and thought I could do everything myself. Zarah offered day-of services to make sure that my planning didn't go to waste. In addition to checking in with ALL of my vendors (hair, makeup, photographer, DJ, venue, caterer, MC, etc) she was there to make sure that everyone followed through. I thought maybe the DJ and myself could take care of it but you don't realize all the details involved the day of your wedding. Plus, what bride wants to be worried about their vendors and timeline when they should be enjoying their wedding? I feel like Zarah went above and beyond any other day of coordinator. She became the main contact for my vendors about 2 months before my wedding. Any questions, concerns, changes and confirmations that I needed done, she was the one to take care of it. She was at my venue as soon as they opened until they closed to ensure everything was set-up how i envisioned, all the vendors made it on time and clean-up was effortless. We had a really difficult experience working with Genisis. She was very unresponsive and…read moredisorganized, taking 6-7 weeks to respond to emails, missing meetings, and asking questions that were already in our previous notes. She would suggest meetings or tell us she would send things by a certain date and then ghost. When we brought this up with her she dismissed our concerns by saying they were not in our original agreement, completely missing the fact that the reason we were upset was because SHE was suggesting these times and not following through. One meeting was rescheduled by our venue and we were understanding that Genisis couldn't make this rescheduled meeting, but she used that as an excuse for missing the previous meetings/deadlines. Genisis also repeatedly got the groom's name wrong and we gave her feedback that this was offensive, she said we were being "inflammatory" and that she could've gotten any client's name wrong regardless of ethnic background. (Like this was supposed to make us feel better? Or more confident in her attention to detail?) Overall we found Genisis to be very unprofessional, unresponsive, disorganized, and dismissive of our concerns and feedback. Another review also mentioned it was hard to get ahold of her leading up to the wedding but she did come through day-of. So it's possible she would've gotten it together for the actual wedding, but with less than 3 weeks to go and still not being able to get ahold of her, we decided it was not worth the risk and decided to find a different coordinator.
