Don't go into this store unless you're prepared to rummage. If there's any logic to the way the clothes are arranged then I've never worked it out, the only way to find anything is to dive in and rummage. You'll find a mixture of cheap clothes that look cheap and rather gorgeous designerwear that's been heavily discounted. Apart from clothing and accessories they also sell toys, toiletries and giftsets. Although this is a big shop it's the smallest TK Maxx I've been in, just one floor and no housewares, cookware, linens or curtains.

They do have a great selection of bags, and also shoes if you go at non-peak hours early in the week. Most recently, I found a pair of Jeffrey Campbell shoes for just £35, which is less than a third of the price! If you want amazing designer bargains, then TK Maxx is definitley the place to come, but you have to have patience and perseverance. Like I said, the Ealing Branch is really small and even more messy than most. Some days, especially later on in the weekends, they have literally nothing- you will be greeted with rows upon rows of empty shoe racks- and recently it has definitley gone a bit downhill recently as it's started to look even more bare than usual. However, I know that when I'm in Ealing Broadway I will go here without fail, as sometimes there's an amazing deal just waiting to be found.

I saw a decent looking black carryall bag here. What is distinctive about this store is it's complete lack of an identity. Not essentially bad, but a poseur.

They, however gave me £1 change for the difference, breaking their rule of giving back money and only offering credit notes. After one day the zip was breaking apart and the strap i discover could not take much weight at all! I went back to exchange for another since they don't give refunds. I was treated nice at first, but when i changed my mind a few times, I definitely felt unwelcome. All in all, i ended up with a £1 credit note i didn't want and when i said that i received £1 back the last time, they dismissed it and said it was a once off. Adding that they rarely give money back and that it was up to the manager. A policy is a policy it shouldn't change!!! Another assistant coldly stated how she didn't get money back at another shop and that most shops do that! But do most shops change their policy, one day and not the next? I think not. I also felt their pricing is intentionally done so you never get a complete exchange, be it £1, £5, £10 or more. I left with disappointment over a product that was poorly made and a credit voucher of £1 which i'm not going to use as this experience completely put me off. It was the way i was treated and no customer should ever have to feel bad when they exit a shop.

If you like your footwear cheap and not so cheerful, this is the place to go. I feel disgusted with…read morethe smell every time I walk in here, so I try to avoid it as much as possible. The average price for a pair of shoes is about £10 and this is reflected in the poor quality of the shoes. The most expensive shoes I've seen in here were under £20, which says it all! The summer sandals are ok; for £3-5 you can get a pair of pretty flip flops to wear on holiday and then chuck away. The shop is never busy but the staff just don't seem to want to help the customers either. They never come over and offer help when people are obviously struggling to find something, the mentality seems to be: "If you want help, come over to the counter and then maybe, just maybe, I'll think about helping you but I won't be happy about it!" I don't care if people are earning minimum wage working here (go a few doors away to the mega cheap Card Factory and see what wonderful customer service they always provide), I expect some degree of politeness and at least a decent level of customer service if I'm spending money somewhere. The staff at Shoe Zone have an overly laid back attitude and when you ask them questions it's like it's a real strain for them to think of an answer. E.g. ask the if there's a different range available on the website or a size of a shoe that's not available in the store and they'll just shrug and say "I don't know!" They also don't seem to know the name of the ranges they actually do have in stock. The worst thing about this store is the really awful stench when you walk in of cheap plastic or something, it's not even food odour, it just seems to be the awful materials used to actually make the shoes!
