I thought Manhattan was spiritual home of small hotel rooms but I often debate whether it should be Paris. This place was described to me as a "boutique hotel" which normally means a little quirky - which in this case was true. I entered the room and turned the lights on to be greeted by a wash of coloured light which gave the room an authentic red light district feel.
The room was tiny but imagine tiny and then half it again. The toilet "room" is barely big enough to move around in without bumping into the sink. It's uncomfortable and impractical. The bathroom is barely better in terms of size, it has a shower which requires a PhD to figure out how to operate. There are no fewer than 4 taps to manipulate to get it going.
A previous Yelper said the bathroom was dirty, I however found no evidence of that, the room was very clean so full marks for that.
What made the experience more bearable was that I arrived late and left early. Another thing to note is that the front of the hotel faces a train station so you get a lot of noise from that.
The Wifi is terrible, the signal was strong but the bandwidth was zero. When I stayed it was so bad that I was unable to even check my e-mail.
The check in staff were very friendly so no complaints there.
I really can't recommend this hotel, it's claustrophobic from the room to the elevator which incidentally says it fits 3 people! read more
