When they contacted me in response to my email to discuss this discrepancy, I expected a professional conversation. Instead, I got attitude, excuses, and a dismissive rep who told me their own monitor might be wrong and his truck is right because it's inspected by the county once a year. So apparently, their technology is unreliable and customers are just supposed to accept whatever number they're billed for -- no transparency, no accountability, no respect. This company's customer service is unprofessional and arrogant. I'll be filing a formal dispute with my bank and reporting them to the BBB. If you value honesty, accuracy, and respectful communication, avoid Duncan Oil.

I never got a call, so I stopped in to inquire about it. Turns out it was there after all, and they had me down for an 8 am appointment on 5/31. I was told it would take 60-90 minutes. Actually, it was more like 300 minutes. Dropped it off at 8 am, returned just before 10 am since two hours had passed and I hadn't gotten a call, finally got to drive it back home at 1 pm in the afternoon. 5 hours, and all because the entire building: the retail store, the propane station, the van, truck, and trailer rental, and the installation shop were all staffed by a single person. A single person. No offer to reschedule, no general manager running in to fill a labor shortfall, no realization that they don't have enough labor to meet the demands for the day and just deciding the best course is to close. Nothing. Just a conscious choice to waste my time, screw up my entire day's schedule, and provide not just me but everyone else that walked in with sub-par customer service.

However, now I understand the value it is providing. I will note that the value provided by the Tank Lease Fee is provided to all customers through a lower per gallon price, while not all customers pay this fee. This creates the situation where those paying the lease fee are subsidizing the customers that don't pay the fee. If the intent is to offer a lower per gallon price by using fees, perhaps a fee that applies equally to all customers would be more appropriate?
