I ordered a large extra-cheese cheese pizza, and the original pizza we were handed was very burnt and did not appear to have the extra cheese we paid for. When we politely questioned it, the first employee immediately had an attitude. She took the pizza back, and another employee came to the drive-thru window already seeming irritated about the situation. We were told they could remake it, but that it would "just look the same" because they cannot "determine" how a pizza will look after it goes through the oven. We were also told that after this remake, they would not remake it again. That response was especially frustrating considering Domino's advertises a satisfaction guarantee involving making an order right when a customer isn't satisfied. While waiting at the window, I watched multiple pizzas come out looking overly done/burnt as well. If multiple pizzas are consistently coming out that way, that should be a sign that something in the preparation or baking process needs to be addressed--not that the customer should simply accept a burnt pizza. I'm attaching photos because the difference speaks for itself. The remake I received today is shown alongside an extra-cheese cheese pizza previously corrected by the owner of this same location. The owner has personally explained to me before that the properly made pizza shown in the comparison is how an extra-cheese cheese pizza should look. There is a VERY noticeable difference in appearance, taste, and overall quality. I completely understand that mistakes happen. My biggest problem with today's experience was the attitude and unwillingness to listen. At no point was I rude or disrespectful. I calmly explained that we've experienced this issue before, showed them how the owner had previously corrected it, and simply asked if the pizza could be made the same way. Instead of listening, it felt like our concern was dismissed from the beginning. When the first employee handed us the remake, she passed it through the drive-thru window extremely quickly and immediately shut the window. It gave the impression that she did not want to hear whether there was still an issue or have any further conversation with us. There were only two employees involved in this interaction, so this review is NOT meant to reflect every employee at this location. In fact, the owner himself has always been willing to correct this issue appropriately when I've spoken with him in the past, which is exactly why today's experience was so disappointing. When pizzas are being rushed through like you're herding cattle, quality is eventually going to suffer. Customers shouldn't be made to feel like an inconvenience simply because they politely ask for the quality of food they paid for. Mistakes with food can be corrected. The way you treat a customer who brings that mistake to your attention matters just as much. It isn't hard to remain kind and professional during a disagreement. I genuinely hope the owner sees both the photos and this review, because based on my previous interactions with him and the standard he has personally shown me, I do not believe he would be happy with either the quality of the pizza or the way this situation was handled by these two employees today.
