Went today for the first time was 7 of us. Food was great felt like a home cooked meal, and the way the place is set up feels more like sitting in the kitchen at home than a restaurant. Service was awesome the staff is friendly and fun, didn't take very long to get our food, especially considering how many of us was there. we got all our food at the same time really liked that. Prices I believe were more than fair for the amount of food you get. Can't wait to try everything in the menu.. I'll definitely give it a 10/10 read more

So this was a hard one, we really wanted to like this little small town place. Decor is interesting with mismatched tables and chairs. The staff seemed very unfriendly and cold to us. They seemed a little annoyed when another guest asked questions about the menu next to us. Soup was delicious, the sandwiches were below par at best, kids meals were a deal for the cost. Overall we may swing by to grab soup to go in the future but even that is unlikely. read more

This place used to be the BOMB! as of late, the Service and the Food is sub par. Ordered a Ruben sandwich on Marbeled Rye. The meat was packaged meat and chewy, very poor quality Corned Beef, and the Sauerkraut was sparse to day the least. As you can see the sandwich has about 2 slices of meat and a table spoon of the kraut. The bread was regular Rye? (maybe) with grill marks. A few potato chips and a store bought cookie. Cajun Club Sandwich and Potato Soup were fantastic! A bit slow with the service when there weren't many people eating inside but that's okay, I wasn't in a rush. I recommended this to a bunch of my buddies on Fort Polk because their sandwiches are by far the best sandwiches I could find in the surrounding area of Fort Polk. read more

This hidden gem was just across the street from our hotel. We wanted to try something local. The place makes you feel like you are at someone's home having lunch. We started with the strawberry lemonade. It was so good. It was homemade and not too sweet with large chunks of berries in it. I had the chicken salad on wheat. It was really good. I also tried the potato soup which tasted so good and you could tell someone spent a good amount of time making it. Overall I will be back again before I go home to Ohio. read more

It was even harder to get to a clean table, as the tables did not seem to get cleaned in a timely manner after patrons left. Best way to get a table seemed to just be to pick a dirty table... It's seat-yourself... and they're not very friendly and won't necessarily volunteer that information to you if you stand around not knowing what to do. They really weren't very friendly at all. I suspect that they are friendly to the patrons they know, but if you're a new customer the greeting will be somewhat cold and not at all speedy. All that said, I'd like to visit again. This place feels like home. I enjoyed meatloaf sandwich on Texas toast with a cup of chicken and dumplings. The plate came with potato chips, a pickle spear, and a chocolate chip cookie. Had lunch here today, Potato Soup & Chicken Salad Croissant w/ Chips & Cookie. The soup was piping hot, sandwich was delicious. Food wise everything was great. Service was quick as far as taking my order. But I've noticed once they bring the food- that's it. I had to flag someone down for a refill, and I may have received an eye roll- can't be sure tho! The ladies are very efficient with the service, but they seem really stressed and just generally mad at the world. The only warm feeling you will leave here with will be from the soup! read more

I've always had a great experience at this restaurant. It's very cute and homey with mismatched tables and decor that's for sale all over the walls. Their potato soup was delicious and served very hot. They let me sample the chicken salad before ordering it and it was delicious! I would highly recommend. Very fresh veggies in the salads and the bread for their sandwiches is good too. The wait staff is always friendly and checking in too. I've been to this restaurant numerous times and have had both good and bad experiences. Their sandwiches are very good, with quality, fresh ingredients. Their bread selection is interesting and delicious. (I especially like their jalapeno bread and their croissants.) They also have excellent soups and the best gumbo in town. Today's visit was a bit disappointing. I ordered in the restaurant for take-out. My son recently had surgery and he requested a sandwich from Two Sister's. Unfortunately, they did not give him the right sandwich. He ordered roast beef and got a Cajun club. I was also disappointed with the shrimp bisque. I was thrilled to find 3 tiny shrimp in the large serving I ordered (yes, that's sarcasm). I did not care for the flavor, either. It tasted like a creamy tomato soup. I will stick to the gumbo, which is always on point. (Bring your own file, though. They don't have it!) I'm sure I'll be back, but not anytime soon. read more

My husband and I have gone here the past couple of Sundays. We love their soup and sandwich combo. It's served with chips and a yummy homemade pecan cookie. I've had the Reuben and the Meatloaf sandwiches. My husband has had a couple of the other ones. We both agree that they were very good. They're definitely not the best sandwiches we've ever had either. The broccoli, cheese, and crap soup is really good. The potato soup was a little bland but not terrible. As with the other restaurants we've been to around this area, it just wasn't very clean. I'll always take a star away for that. We enjoy this place for sure though. read more

if i could give a star rating for less than 1 I would in a heart beat! I absolutley love the food, don't get me wrong. I will NOT GO BACK nor will i order to go due to the fact that I get the same thing every time and I am charged different amounts each time. I recently ordered yesterday for lunch at work and only received the sandwhich and soup (all basic. regular buns and small soup) and was charged $10! The price of this is $7 with chips or a cookie and pickle. I called to fix the situation of the overcharging for the food I always order and all the lady had to say was "well im sorry I wasn't here yesterday" and refused to even fix the issue. customer service is the definition of garbage! read more

It hurts me to write this review bc this is a regular spot for me and my bf for lunch. But the last time we were in there, we brought some family from out of town with us and the service was AWFUL. We walked in and there were several available tables (you seat yourself) but every available table was dirty. We picked the least messy table and sat down with old plates and cups on it, just to be ignored by the waitresses. Their excuse was.. we thought y'all were leaving bc there were used dishes at your table. Like are you kidding me? So we were running short on time and about to walk out when my bf had to go get a waitress to come take our order. We proceeded to order to go, and as we sat there we saw a lady bring out a big bag of food to go and we figured it was ours when the waitress was going to bring it to us but the rude old lady at the front looked at us and told the waitress.. This restaurant is located in an old, wooden building. While we were waiting to order, a huge tree roach ran across our feet and up my leg. There was also hair baked into our cookies. If you're put off by bugs or other people's DNA, probably give this one a miss. read more

I really hate to complain and be negative and honestly I always read extremely negative reviews with a grain a salt; however, I am compelled to warn everyone about this establishment after our awful experience yesterday. My husband and I took my grandparents, mother, and two children to eat there after church on Sunday. We had never eaten there before but had been told it was very good. We walked in and it was crowded but not horribly so...there were empty tables and no wait. So we took a seat and finally after about fifteen minutes someone took our drink order. Right after that another waitress came to take our drink order. This was the first red flag, as it appeared that the three or so waitresses were running around wily nilly with no idea of who was in charge of what. Finally got our drinks and she took our food order. My husband and grandparents ordered gumbo while the rest of us ordered sandwiches and/or baked potatoes. They got their gumbo and this is NO exaggeration...about 15 minutes later the waitress came and told us they were out of potatoes and bread for our sandwiches, etc. We reordered and were told again about 15 MINUTES later that they were out of these items also. By this time, my grandparents and husband had been finished with their gumbo for quite a while. We ordered something else but honestly I was just ready to leave at this point. I have NEVER been in a place so mismanaged and poorly run in my life. I will NEVER be back. By the time this ordeal was done, we had been there almost 2 hours! And to top it off, our waitress was extremely rude...she was even rude to my sweet grandpa which is an unforgivable offense in my eyes. read more

We come here on occasion. Good place to eat after church if you don't mind a bit of a crowd.
