We have been here a few of times and always found the manager unpleasant and rude. He also clearly discourages children - no children's menu and no option for half portions. The food is fine but for the reasons stated, we had decided not to eat there any more. But today I went there with my 6 year old son out of desperation because the other restaurant on that beach was closed. The manager was rushing in and out to the terrace, and a number of customers were complaining of slow service. When the food did arrive, my mussels were not well cleaned and were dry, like they had been sitting around for a while, with lots of unopened shells. But my real issue began when the manager pushed passed my son, annoyed that he was in the way, and then moments later did the same thing but this time stepped hard on my son's bare foot, causing a small cut and swelling. He walked on without even an apology. My son left the restaurant in tears. I have since seen other reviewers complaining that he had done the same thing to their children!! Just awful - a man who runs a restaurant and ice cream parlour on a beach but dislikes children so much he intentionally tries to hurt them. Please avoid if you have kids.

The bills ranged from 75 to 93 before tip All good except the other one...we waited best part of 75 minutes for a filet de bouef and a tataki de thon...despite 3 attempts to hurry it all up...they had not got enough hobs available, they said...hmmm, poor excuse...and they never asked if we wanted dessert - not the normal attitude / reception...very disappointing...let's trust it was just a bad day at the office Otherwise, we enjoyed the rest

Not our year for a nice lunch in Montalivet…read more Having failed dismally at Chez Jeannot, we were now near the beach and so the big place on the opposite corner seemed the best option. There were were a fair number of people, mainly outside, so we opted for under cover by the window...great view of course and there were plenty of surfers around The staff were friendly enough. The menu was at best OK...camembert, melon to start, steak for both of us and 50cl of rouge = €54...so that was reasonable, given the great location, as was the food when it arrived - which was the issue - eventually Yes it was reasonably busy, in which case they should staff up...if the indoors had been full as well, we would still be waiting, I kid you not No, so next year if we return, we need to have done some homework before we do the 5k round trip To a degree we have...in so far as we walked to Le Gurp - the opposite direction - and to a great new restaurant there - reviewed as well

We had a group of 7 and decided on salads and tapas with some wine and water for a small lunch. The food came quickly and was of very good quality plus the service was excellent. There was good seating both inside and in the garden as well as in the old courtyard where we were. Overall it came to €140 so €20 each for a light meal and wine - so ok.
