We have really enjoyed being introduced to the Montessori educational philosophy through Sudbury Montessori. The teachers send home photos at the end of each week so we can see our childrens' days in action. They have a lot of opportunities to be creative during the day - our daughter loves painting and gets to do a lot of that. We've also been impressed with their sanitation and organization during COVID-19. We have never once felt vulnerable or exposed thanks to the precautions they've taken and the communication around it. The kids' schedule involves a lot of outside play time and exploring, which is so important to us and not something that every pre-school does. The staff makes themselves available at drop-off and pick-up for any questions, and they're also just a quick phone call away. All in all we are pleased with this sweet little school and would recommend them.

Our experience was very similar to Zara S.'s--said all the right things, but their actions didn't…read morematch up. I think that they just don't have the experience or expertise to work effectively with children who may need a little something different. As for the actual day? It's very structured, with very little outdoor time, and high staff turnover. In the three months we were there, our sons had three different primary teachers for the classroom. I wonder: if we had been there for 12 months, would our sons have had 12 teachers?!?! Bright Horizons had come very highly recommended to us, but we were terribly disappointed. We're now in a preschool with a play-based curriculum, plenty of outdoor time and teachers who have been with the program for several years, and our kids are thriving.

On first look the facilities look amazing - a great indoor place space, a fantastic art studio but…read morethe place the kids spend most of their time is the classroom that we had 2 independent experts tell us it was small and cramped with furniture for 9 kids 2 teachers and parents coming and going all day. Our son didn't last even 3 months in the toddler program because they deemed he was 'aggressive'. Yet he has displayed none of those behaviors at his new, more spacious daycare. So much time is unstructured play that if kids don't yet know how to play on their own they end up a bit lost. At least that's how Early Intervention explained their observations of BH Sudbury. Bright Horizons say all the right things but in our experience rarely actually followed through on the things that were going to make a difference. When an action plan was put together the staff were 3 weeks late putting together a cozy corner to help the kids have a relaxing space for when they got distressed. That was what upset us the most they didn't seem to put the action that would have benefitted our son first. We care that other children were being affected, which is why we acted immediately upon being informed it was a growing concern. Initially they said it wasn't a problem and deemed just toddler behavior between the children until the center could not cope. It felt like that they had decided that he became too much hassle and because they can fill the available space ten times over it seemed to us they just couldn't be bothered. They asked for our agreement to bring in 2 outside agencies, Early Intervention and Enable who could not start with the center until Dec 4th and yet he was asked to leave on Dec 11th. Enable had not even completed their assessment of the situation or plan to support the center and our family. Early Intervention had been only twice. When we offered to pay for an additional teacher to support the center it was deemed not necessary in the early stages and we should wait for the intervention of the supporting agencies. But they never gave the experts the time to help. All this coupled with the fact that we signed an agreement the week before our son was due to start and the center director got the price wrong on the contract and she also told us she had made a mistake while we were on the wait list and that the place she had reserved for us was no longer available makes our overall experience of Bright Horizons Sudbury very unsatisfactory. It's not like we are biased against Bright Horizons our son went to Bright Horizons Wellesley for 3 months while we were on the wait list for Bright Horizons Sudbury and we can't fault them. During the process we would have done anything to keep our son at Bright Horizons Sudbury, in the end you couldn't have paid us to keep him there.

Before we started i was asked what i hoped to gain told them my child was potty training i would love for it if they continued; then i noticed on her reports she had more wet diapers than potty tries. I inquired about this they said i was layering too much! reduce the layers and now she only wore sweatpants still the same, they said the pull up i provided were not the right ones and i need to use the ones that they used. My husband got the ones that they wanted but still the wet diapers were more. when i inquired how frequent she was put on the potty i get a call telling me that my daughter is acting different crying all day and they have kids to attend too since she is not the only one. My baby was 26 months and could not be comforted when she was in distress as if they are providing me free services or they do not know the number of kids in the class. In the morning when i went to drop her off the teacher at the door completely ignored us another teacher had to come to great us. if possible i would give them 0 stars. When i went to pick my child's belonging they didn't even bother to inquiry how she was doing. Just passing by the school gives her truama so much so that she know our entire route to home she will call out the ice cream place her doctor's office mere shopping but pretend when we get to that school

People can be really lovely and will let you out and it's certainly easier in the summer months to do the school run. Enough said. Moving on... We moved our 18 month-old here after leaving Knowledge Beginnings in Maynard after they lost him one day on the playground. He then went to another daycare for a transition period but that was shutdown due to a (very expensive) typhoid outbreak. So my son enrolled in NGCC after being at a series of schools with compliance violations from losing kids to unvaccinated staff. As an obsessive researcher of all things, I'm pleased to note that NGCC's state compliance records are gorgeous, suitable for framing. We enrolled our LO in NGCC blindly after a recommendation from another parent who left KinderCare and enrolled their LO at NGCC with great results. We loved the data and information that NGCC shared with us about development and preparation for Kindergarten. (As a mildly obsessive PhD, I love all the data and learning opportunities!) It made us feel confident that we were making a good choice for LO and that he would thrive there. I can say that after about a month at NGCC, LO loves it. I love that it's like a proper school setting with a professional front desk, excellent security, it's set back from the road, leadership is accessible, and staff seem content and loyalty is strong. The cost of care is very reasonable and I feel like I should be paying more for the services we receive as part of tuition! The facilities are wonderful, too. I feel great arriving at 4.55 or 5.00 on the dot to find a parking lot and lobby full of other working parents which was utterly absent from the KinderCare and the transitional school. There's an unspoken camaraderie among working parents which is reassuring. They give him lunch every day which has helped us expand his palate and nutritional options and also given us back some time in the evening as a family. Overall, he's sleeping better, no more mysterious bumps and bruises, if he gets a bump, someone calls me immediately, and he's just overall a happier little guy. They're so hands-on and very in-tune with child development. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend NGCC to anyone and it's not surprising there's a high demand for placement there!

It had come highly recommended by some parents of precious students, but I also wanted to be sure it would be a safe place for him to be now with Covid-19 procedures in place. Dr Fernandez is very open and clear about their protocols and what is expected from the children as far as contact between kids, mask wearing, and hygiene, which was very reassuring and made me feel comfortable sending my son. They also have a large outdoor space where they spend a significant amount of time in the summer months. My son absolutely loved his time there and always had something fun to tell me about when I picked him up. He enjoyed the weekly themes and the crafts and activities that go along with each week's theme. My son had clearly made a genuine connection with many of the staff and other kids there in just three short weeks, which I believe reflects greatly on the caring nature of the staff and nurturing atmosphere that they create.

I felt comfortable the minute I walked into the program and saw the huge yard with lots of outdoor playspace geared for my energetic little guy. The learning space inside was airy, bright and impeccably clean. There were so many hands on activities that I have never seen before in the regular preschool classroom because I never really knew what a Montessori school was until I met Maria and she guided me through her extensive curriculum. Apparently he will choose the activities he is interested in and they will provide him with lessons. Since each child could be learning something different at any given moment they have up to three teachers with only 10 children. It seems there's so much opportunity for our child to grow and learn in this warm and nurturing environment. I didn't feel this comfortable when we walked into the large daycare facility by our house so that is why I was so happy to have found this Montessori. The Spanish is an added bonus! Now I cannot wait until our little guy turns 2 so we can enroll him in.
