Cheap overpriced namevrand clothing clothing. A lot of it looked like knock-offs. It's a good thing this business is no longer open.

Granted, the mall in Olean has few stores, but to save yourself a headache and a lot of irritation,…read moreavoid this JC Penny store. The employees are avid racial profilers and think that anybody of color is a criminal. Recently, when my family and I visited the store for some back to school shopping. We had a lot of clothing, the deals were good! My father was trying on a shirt and happened to walk out of the fitting room. He was holding all our stuff. Apparently, they thought that he was a shoplifter because suddenly a group of employees and the extremely unfriendly manager surrounded him. They were not happy that he was wearing their merchandise. But they were trying to take away all the clothes we had taken time to try on in order to "hold them at the counter." My father was just waiting for us to get out of the fitting room so he could show us his shirt. Evidently, this was SUCH a complex situation that the JC Penny employees couldn't comprehend. The manager had an extremely irritated look on her face and was talking very slowly to my father, because she assumed he didn't speak English. I guess customer service is not their priority, although it should be considering the retailer is failing. Or perhaps they are just extremely anxious their blue collar jobs will be replaced by self checkouts and computers. I saw an elderly woman shopping around who also had a lot of things in her hand. She was walking along the same aisle where the register was. She obviously wasn't going to pay. But the male cashier just ran out from the register and towards her and abruptly asked "You want me to check you out." She said "No, I'm still looking." The cashier just rolled his eyes. So no reason to think I'm playing victim here. Word of advice: Just go to Kohls.

Me & my wife were married in COVID and are finally having an actual wedding now at Avanti Mansion in Buffalo this Friday. We live in Allegany NY and have a small business ourselves in town. So we decided instead of having our dads, brother, nephews and 2 sons go to Tuxedo Junction or Men's Warehouse in Buffalo we would try a small business here locally. Armond's in Olean. Google stars were 4.7 out of 5 so I didn't hesitate. This was where I made the biggest and most stressful mistake I could have. Those of you who have had a wedding know how stressful things can get as it approaches. Craig at Armond's has made our lives hell the last two weeks. When we went here a few months ago to have everyone suited we were told the adult tux rentals would be $235 plus tax which was reasonable and that my 3 and 6 year old who are ring bearers would be $120 or he could see if there was a special where you get one free. We were also informed my 13 year old nephew might even be able to do the $120 rental. We went ahead and everyone got measurements. My family is all coming up from Buffalo which is over 2 hours round trip. After my brother brought his kids all the way down for measurements Craig called a few days later to tell him he lost my one nephews measurements. He asked that my brother take him to Men's warehouse and get measurements there and call to tell him what they are. My brother went ahead and did that. The day the suits came in I started by taking my 3 year old to try his on first. After arriving it was clear Craig didn't want to take the time to let him try the whole suit on. He only tried the jacket on and I immediately noticed it wasn't going to work he was swimming in the sleeves. I demanded he try the whole thing on. The shirt couldn't be buttoned around his neck and he was also swimming in the sleeves, and the pants were way too short. He also didn't fit in the shoes. When Craig could see this wasn't going to work his tone immediately changed. His demeanor grew cold and ignorant. I told him we need everyone to have a suit that fits and that's why we did measurements. He stated he would order him a new jacket but as far as the shoes that was best he had and the shirt he would have to wear the bands around his elbow area to hike it up. I told him at that point I would just buy him a Kohls shirt and shoes but the pants were too short. He stated his person who does alterations was out of town currently but that if I have someone I can do it at my expense and have the fabric cut even though it's a rental. I was then told that if I paid cash once my other son came to get his that he would give me a "deal" and I could pay $470 for the two which would be $235 each but no tax. I said I'm super confused I thought you said the kids were $120 worst case and that you were trying to get one for free? He said the place he gets them couldn't do it so everyone is adult size. I left and went home and told my wife everything. We then brought Bentley our older son in for the same experience. His was at least doable even though it didn't fit the way it should have. I informed both our dads and my brother and nephews to get there ASAP because so far things have not gone well. My brother's jacket was too big. My father in law couldn't button his shirt and my dad couldn't button his shirt and had to get new pants, and order a new jacket. At this point I argued with Craig. I told him since everything looked sloppy I'm debating getting my kids something else at Kohls or Amazon. He stated I will never find something this close to the wedding and regardless I had to pay the price because he already received product. I told Craig how unprofessional he has been and how can he expect me to pay double for something I was told only cost $120 each? He said I don't remember telling you that. I then asked about how he also made my brother go somewhere else for measurements he began to tell me it was a lie and he would never send someone somewhere else for measurements. When I attempted to call my brother right then and there from the store he said okay so I had him go for one person's measurements did it ruin his day or something? I can honestly say as a small business owner myself I am totally appalled by this whole experience. I then had my mother in law pick up my 3 year old son's new jacket that was ordered and he is completely swimming in it. My mother in law is not running around days before our wedding and trying to do alterations to the suits because it's clear he either cannot measure people and needs to retire or this is just how he's ran this business for a long time. My brother picked his new jacket up today and instead of the 16 in sleeves he's had they brought the sleeves up to 14.5 inches and Craig had to spend 45 min fi
