We book a charter fishing trip every year with Jeff and SuFISHient Charters on Lake Michigan. Jeff is extremely fun and entertaining and also knows his stuff. He knows the best spots and we always seem to catch more than anyone else around. Today we caught 13 fish including a brown trout, king salmon, coho, and lake trout. I was very disappointed when my son came back from the charter and learned the guys only caught 2 fish. They caught more snags on their own fishing lines than they did fish. This was a gift for my son's 16th birthday, and we did our research and checked reviews and pictures and thought for sure this would be as advertised for the guys. They didn't even make it to the board to post their 2 fish for 6 hours with 4 people but were still charged full price. The website says no fish no pay, but for 2 fish, which would be embarrassing to go to the board, they get charged the full amount. That, to me, is a clear sign that the trip was a failure. We were charged a credit card fee on top, that was not mentioned on the website or ahead of time. Also, my fiancé said he was told the only way the first mate gets paid is through tips which made him feel obligated to tip substantially on a trip that wasn't worth the experience they received. He also said the GPS system was constantly beeping in an alarm state for the majority of the trip which was annoying. This being my family's first charter, we were not given the experience promised and stated on the website. I would not recommend. read more

What a fantastic trip! Captain Jeff made everything so easy. He was very flexible on scheduling our trip offering many different days of the week and times. The boat was very comfortable, even offering a cabin where the kids could take a break, eat a snack, or take a nap. SuFISHient charters took all the prep and cleanup work out of the equation. Captain Jeff had all the fishing knowledge about the lures and line lengths to use and where the fish were hiding for the day. When we got back to land, he took all the fish in, helped us get some pictures of our haul, and cleaned them! (I was delighted to have the fish cleaned for me). We had a great time on our first trip with Captain Jeff and SuFISHient Charters! He and his first mate did a great job of tracking down the fish (they were playing hide-n-seek) and providing us with a wonderful family-friendly trip. Jeff let our six-year-old sit up with him as we were coming back in and our four-year-old was thrilled every time we landed another fish. The crew cleaned and filleted our fish for us, which was wonderful. We're looking forward to fresh fish on the grill for the next several evenings, as well as several smoked fish to snack on throughout the week. SuFISHient Charters is the best! I wasn't really excited about getting up so early on a Saturday morning to go fishing, but I had such a great time and our group of 4 caught a cooler full of tasty fish! Captain Jeff & his first mate, Mark, worked very hard to make sure that our trip was memorable. Basically all I had to do was sit in the warmth of the sun and wait until it was my turn to reel in the next salmon. Reeling in the fish was fun & exciting especially when we got another hit on one of the other poles! Those guys moved fast to ensure that we didn't lose a single fish. When the crew wasn't helping us with the catch, they were checking on the other boats to see how their day was going. I got the sense that these guys are well liked within the fishing community and got helpful tips from the other captains as to where and how deep the fish were. Six hours goes by really fast when you are enjoying yourself & catching fish. Jeff & Mark also cleaned & filleted our catch with fluid precision. Great job, Captain Jeff! read more

My son and I went out with SuFISHient last week while on vacation. They have a very nice boat with lots of room to fish. We had a great time with the team. The captain is very good with his boat and works hard to get us into the places where the fish are. He knows a lot about fishing in that area and what is biting and what the fish like. We caught a good number of fish and several of them being quite large. We were right on the brink of great Salmon season and managed to catch a few of these fish. Had a great time on a sunset fishing charter with SuFISHient Charters. Our family decided to take a last minute day trip to Holland and my son asked if we could go fishing on Lake Michigan. We were fortunate to get a last minute booking with Captain Jeff. He was friendly, knowledgeable and great with my 3 kids ages 10-16. The kids made some nice catches, learned a bit about fishing, got pictures taken with their fish on the board at the marina and watched Captain Jeff clean the fish. This is the second Memorial Day that I have gone out with SuFISHient Charters. Upon arrival each time, everything is well prepared and the boat itself is fantastic. The dock location is great with just a short ride to the lake. Last year our group of five had a good day of fishing and each brought home a good amount of fish. This year the fishing was phenomenal! We brought 23 fish in the boat and lost a couple of others. When we reached our Lake Trout limit, we went out further to seek out kings. We ended up with four different species and a summers worth of fish to eat. Jeff is a great captain and explains his strategies and communicates with his connections to make sure he has all the latest information. A great experience! read more

Terrific experience! Captain Jeff was amazing in his ability to answer questions and joke with all of us while at the same time watching carefully all the lines that were out. We caught quite a few fish including a 16lb trout (had never seen one that big!). Jeff fileted them for us and we've had quite a few tasty meals from them.
