Bought tickets for a tailgate on New Year's Eve at the Commanders game. Apparently, they were told they couldn't set up. About 100 of us waited for an hours and they never showed, no contact. Tried to get money back and they blew us off and told us to call the 3rd party vendor they sell their tickets through. Third party vendor (Premium Tailgate) said Sugar Rim needs to admit they didn't provide the service. Called Stub Hub, the original vendor and said the same. SO shame on Sugar Rim for not doing the honorable thing to admit they didn't provide the service so everyone could get their money back. read more

I hired Cory and staff for my Holiday party for my office. Jerin and Jessica were simply amazing! They provided everything, the DJ, Karoke, a photo booth, the beer and wine and most importantly the food! Far exceeded my expectations and my CFO and President enjoyed it so much, they requested them again this November! Thankfully we are able to have an event with Covid, but knowing I only have to go to one vendor and source helps with having too many hands in the event preparation! AVOID! I used their services for my 40th birthday party and it was a disaster. Besides the professionalism of the bartenders, NOTHING that was agreed upon was delivered. The communication leading up to the event went well, there was only one instance of confusion; however, Jessica assured me this was not routine. Her and Corey NEVER returned any of my calls or messages after the event when they did not deliver on what was in the contract or what I PAID for. I am still trying to figure out how to get a refund on what was NOT delivered on, but until someone returns my calls, I guess I will be unable to. I am going to reach out to PayPal to see what can be done since I paid using their services. I will NEVER use them again and would NOT recommend them. Sugar Rim Bar gets mostly good reviews but, not this time! Unfortunately my event was a nightmare! When you speak to the owner Cory Brim, he's very confident and assuring. Almost every word he said couldn't be further from the truth. First, we contacted with Sugar Rim Bar for two staff, a Bartender and waitstaff; both had been told they would be bartending. One of the two also,arrived late. Our sit-down dinner for 20 was scheduled for 5pm however, his delivery team did not arrive until 4:50pm. I had to contact guests, letting them know the dinner had to be pushed back to a 'TBD' time. Upon arrival, they brought in filthy, dirty, unsanitary tables that were covered with boot prints. Next, some of the Chivary chairs were so old and worn that the paint was chipping off....they should have been thrown in the trash! The bartenders were so shocked, they asked for cleaning solution to clean the tables off and tried to strategically place the rotten chairs where they wouldn't be so noticeable. UNACCEPTABLE. PERIOD. Next, they come into my home with a leaking bag of ice! Mind you, not drops of water but a deluge of water all over my floors and carpet, like it was okay! WTH????? This from a reputable event company????? NOPE! The contract stated that everything was included for the bar ie; soda, juice, napkins, etc. The next thing I see is they are walking in with previously USED bottles of soda!!! OH HELL NO!!!! By this time I'm in total disbelief!!!! One of the bartenders contacted their boss, Cory Brim, who never did even call me, I had to call him!!!!!! By this time, I am beside myself! I really couldn't believe this was happening on the night of my event. Needless to say, this was a total disaster and an EPIC FAIL on the part of Sugar Rim Bar, period. The only bright spots were the staff; they were consummate professionals, that helped me get through a disastrous, and disappointing evening. The rest of the night was a complete blur for me....... The disaster was on a Saturday and Monday rolled around and Cory Brim hadn't even contacted me! This speaks volumes about what type of so called business person he is.......it has taken several phone calls and emails to contact him; it appears that he really doesn't stand by his business, because I had to request a refund!!!!! Then I was told because he has to pay his staff, he would not give me a full refund!!!!! By this time I was so sick of dealing with the shadiness of this situation, I reluctantly agreed to be refunded a lesser amount. To add insult to injury, he tried to slow walk the refund and pretended to be waiting for PayPal, when in fact PayPal was awaiting him to do the RIGHT thing and provide the refund!!!!! Last but not least, this petty person actually refunded me $20 less than promised!!!!!! Unfriggin-believeable! Moral of this story, do not hire Sugar Rim Bar for any event! If you can screw up a simple event for 20, you're not really anything you pretend to be; you simply have a lot of friends that will write good reviews for you! You have mastered the art of BS but, people will eventually see you for who you really are THEY KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT YOU!!!!! KARMA is coming for you!!!!!!!! read more

Jessica and Cory gave great customer service and the prices were excellent. Jessica was very personable, upfront and honest. They were professional and they gave us a wedding card. They even on the day of the wedding sent us a personal email to congratulate us on our marriage. I would recommend them again because the word was great. read more

AVOID! I was very disappointed with this company. We hired Sugar Rim for our wedding in July. While we had a good experience leading up to the event communicating with Jessica, the day of the wedding Sugar Rim let us down big time. 1) We paid for an all inclusive service package, but they ran out of beer and water over an hour and a half before the contracted end of the event, even though we informed them long before the event that our guests were heavy beer drinkers. Also, it was 100 degrees at our wedding, so you would think they would know to bring extra water. We had to have a guest go and buy additional beer at the store out of our pocket. 2) Even more so THEY UP AND LEFT an hour and a half before the contracted end of the event, and did not perform the contracted end of night table clean up. They breached the contract. 3) They cut off many of our guests early in the night under the reason that guests were driving, but we contracted bus transportation for all guests. 4) Finally, at the start of the event they were serving beer in small 5 ounce plastic cups stating that they did not have enough cool canned/bottled beer ready to serve. They were under-prepared on every level. Pros: Jessica takes care of you leading up the event and is easy to work with. Cons: Every other aspect failed to deliver. They were under-prepared and did not perform what was detailed in the contract. You will get the full song and dance about how great the service is in the sales pitch, but they couldn't deliver even a mediocre performance at our wedding. We did email Sugar Rim prior to posting this review to give them a chance to make things right, but received no response. read more

Fews weeks before my event, I emailed Cory to confirmed and he responded that we are a go on the D day. I did everything I was asked to do, but no one showed up on my Special. Edit: The owner of SugarRim contacted me after I posted this review and gave me a partial refund ($50). He indicated that he had recently experienced company growth and hired a few bad eggs. Doesn't make up for it entirely, but it certainly helps. Updated to 2 stars. I made a very poor decision when I decided to go with Sugar Rim Bar as the service for my New Year's Eve event. I was planning a party of ~45 people on New Year's Eve, and sought quotes for a bartender. Sugar Rim did have a reasonable rate for the evening. However, the good things stopped there. The bartender showed up more than 1 hour late. This meant that I was not "a guest at my own party" as their motto portends, but rather made me the bartender at my own party for more than an hour. The bartender that arrived literally did not know how to make a "whiskey sour." Whiskey and sour mix right in front of her. She had to look it up on her phone. She did not know how to make a Tom Collins, Manhattan, or Whiskey Ginger. She only knew how to make drinks that involved the names of the items in them. What I am saying is she was most definitely not a real bartender. I did not pay $250 for someone to pour drinks for 4 hours, I paid $250 for a bartender. She did not come with a knife to cut lemons and limes ("we will come with all necessary tools"). She poured extremely strong drinks (from what I saw, roughly 3 shots per drink) to the point that my more sensitive guests could not drink them as they were drinking basically straight alcohol. Sugar Rim offered to provide a customized drink menu and provided a sample. I liked the sample they provided and asked for no changes to the drinks listed on the menu. The bartender did not come with this menu. After the event, the owner of the company contacted me and asked how my experience was and I told him all of the above information. However, he did not apologize, offer a discount/refund, or even reply to my email explaining the situation. In short, if you are looking to hire a bartender for your private event, I recommend you look elsewhere. read more

A perfect mix of fun and professionalism! I've hired Sugar Rim Bar for two years in a row for a multi-day conference that I produce in Washington, DC. First of all, I immediately appreciated that no matter what I asked from them, I always got a "Yes, we can do that" even when it was something outside of their typical services. They made it clear that they were there to help make my event vision happen. I also really appreciated that they answer the phone when you call and respond to emails promptly. There is a lot to worry about when planning event, but Sugar Rim alleviated many of those worries by being consistently reliable and professional. Sugar Rim handled evening bartending, morning coffee services, and even a pancakes and mimosas brunch. Each time the staff arrived on-time with a smile, and were a lot of fun to work with. Cory, the owner, always showed up to check-in and to ensure that everything was running smoothly. I see all the wonderful reviews and was very excited to work with Cory. However, in trying to set a mixology class for our group. .. it has been impossible to schedule a date. I have sent numerous texts, fb messages, emails etc that have gone unanswered. I do not understand this because reputation is everything and he was very excited when we first talked. I deal with many event planners and this has been very poor customer service. If he was not interested in doing this class, he should have advised and not said he was interested. I've used Sugar Rim Bar two years in a row for our Christmas party and absolutely would not do it without them. We use one bartender and one staff person for a ~75 guest house party and they have been an indispensable addition. They are very engaging with our guests and take all the pressure off for my husband and me so we can enjoy the party too. Also, their super efficient set up and take down have made it so that we have barely anything to do ourselves once the last guest leaves - trash is out, food is packed up, drinks are stored. Not completely happy with Sugar Rim Bar bus. Maybe my expectations were too high. Like having a functioning A/C. It was muggy, hot and uncomfortable even before anyone attempted to dance. The bus driver opened the door when he could in order to let some cool air in. The advertisement of a flat screen TV is really unnecessary because it didn't work!!! We had videos to play during event and I made Sugar Rim Bar aware of that and yet he didn't deliver. Sugar Rim Bar was very cavalier and he attempted to reassure me that everything would be great prior to event. I regretfully trusted him. The driver was good, no complaints there. Our bartender, ChiChi..AWESOME!!! She was very attentive. Our trip to INDULJ was great!! That place made the event fun. Guess we really didn't need a bus for that. Nothing sweet about my SugarRimBar experience. I attended an event with a group who used this company for their party bus/celebration. The air conditioner and flat screen television did not work. I'm surprised the breaks were working. The bartender was great and the bus driver got us to our destination safely. He was also kind enough to open the door (which is ridiculous) to allow some cool air circulation. I hope the owner of this company realizes that the guests are affected by his poor service too. It's not just those who interact with him to plan the event. I would also like to add: 1) summer is coming. So riding around in a bus with unrelenting heat could prove dangerous to your health. 2) Check other party buses prior to settling with this company. & 3) Perhaps a "walk through" is an appropriate step a few hours before the actual event. read more

I regret working with SugarRimBar. I decided to go with SugarRimBar to provide bars and bartending service for a very large event (~500 people). I have to say that in the beginning upon booking the event, the owner, Cory was more than eager to get my business. He returned my calls promptly, assured me that everything would go smoothly. The day of the event, it was discovered that he decided to bring on an additional bartender, which was not discussed in advance. That dipped into the money of the other bartenders. He also assured me that the drink names and prices would be displayed in a 'frame', which never happened. We decided to use 'Square' to collect credit card transactions and tips. It took him over 3 weeks to get the credit card money to us. During that time, he did not return phone calls, avoided calls and text messages. When he finally could be reached, he said he was so busy with other events that he could not meet for so long. Yet, he claims he has a staff of over 150 people. I felt like I was being dodged for money he owed. After he got paid, he wiped his hands clean and failed to tie up loose ends in a timely manner. He never apologized or offered to make things right. I will not use this service again and surely will not recommend SugarRimBar to anyone else. read more
