I don't think the location's physically accessible, as there are 2-3 steps in the front. I didn't use the bathroom, so I can't comment on that. I visited Rachel, and her services were fabulous. I had wanted a dramatic hair change, and brought photos. For the first time in my life, my haircut was exactly like the photos I brought in. I don't think I've had such a successful haircut before. I came back a few months later, and again, Rachel went above and beyond. I'll be returning and cannot recommend Rachel at Painted Hair Co. more.

After creeping her page, watching her facial videos and more creeping on WSS website, I decided to book us both in for a 75 minute facial. We were both a little unsure of what to expect but came out of it with glowing skin and full of excitement for future appointments. I was definitely half asleep during my whole treatment. Briar started with a little consultation and began treatment. She was knowledgeable, kind and gave me some recommendations of steps to consider adding to my current skin routine, which I appreciate so much. Nicely curated selection with prices comparable to other small plant stores. The Long Version: Fringe & Foliage is hidden in plain sight. It's in a little low-rise building across from Westgate Shopping Mall. It's on Carling Ave, which is a main street, and I've driven by it many times without even noticing it. It's sandwiched between a bridal shop and a martial arts school. The name Fringe & Foliage is not immediately visible, the description is more prominent from the street. I actually thought the store was called "Hair Salon & Plant Store" because that's what's on the sign you can see from the street, lol. I popped in one day to check out their plant selection. The plant store area is spacious and open but doesn't have that many plants. However, their selection is well curated and they have only one or two of each type of plant. The plants seem to be well cared for too. I came in specifically looking for a Pleiospilos nelli (aka Split Rock plant), the Royal Flush variety which has a purplish hue to it, which they didn't have. They did have Lithops (aka Living Stones) though, but I already have Lithops. I still enjoyed looking around the store. I was told that the owners go to Montreal to pick up new plants and post it on their Instagram when they do. So I'll be keeping an eye on their IG. They also sell cute little knickknacks, like crocheted plants, enamel pins and stickers of street signs of streets in the neighbourhood. It's a cute store. And staff were pleasant. It was straight but still very frizzy with a ton of volume. The hairdresser didn't pull hard enough on the brush while blow drying to ensure a sleek and silky blow dry. I expected her to grab the flat iron as I didn't expect she was done. She didn't. I didn't say anything as I didn't want to hurt her feelings. I fixed what I could as soon as I got home with my flat iron. This place is definitely not recommend for a sleek-straight blow dry. I would not attempt this place again.

I've been coming to this salon in the Westgate Mall for about 3 years now, and I love it. I don't always get the same hair stylist, but if Danielle is free you should absolutely try and go with her. She's got a great eye, is friendly but not annoying or too talkative, and she always gives AMAZING scalp massages while you're getting your hair washed. No matter what stylist I get, they're always super professional (not chatty with their coworkers, or pressuring you to buy products) and are full of great advice if needed. I really appreciate a place where you can drop in and they'll do their best to accommodate you. If you're heading there on the weekend though, I definitely recommend making an appointment or you could be waiting awhile.
