I've all the technology I need and it's fantastic kit. I also grumble about poor service and what I see as their staff being unhelpful especially in the Orlando store where the 'rules' on selling new phones were so bizarre in 2022 they could not sell me the new phone I wanted and had near $2000 to give them. I mean they overturned precisely the maxim of what retail is about - the art of selling goods that don't come back to customers that do. I've an old Apple iPhone that I will upgrade this winter in the UK (for the first time ever) but it works perfectly well, it serves me well and I no longer need state of the art sophistication but compromise is sensible as the pace of technological change is remarkable - a sophisticated computer in your pocket. The two issues I had are now one; that the battery now runs down quite quickly. The second was powering up the phone which this store resolved lickety-split.

Upon arriving I must admit I didn't know that I was meant to "check in" in the middle of the store. But a member of staff was kind enough to sign me in at the Genius Bar anyway. Within ten minutes my iPhone was booked in and we were given a waiting time of 2 hours so went off shopping. Came back 2 hours later and my phone was handed back to me good as new. Was all that simple even on such a busy Saturday running up to Christmas. Possibly the best custom service I've ever received.

I use The Card when I can, as most people seem to use WHS, which means that for birthdays, etc., people can end up with the same card two or more times (I should know, I've been on the receiving end a couple of times). The Card is not much cop if you're sending something like a Goodbye or Retirement card from everyone at the office, but for person cards its an excellent alternative to that newsagent I keep referring to, and to the tat that infests most of Clinton Cards' premises. For something a bit different, try The Card - prices are comparable with everywhere else, and there isn't a huge queue of people to hold you up (though no doubt the owners wish there was one!).

There is a large red sign at the front of the shop saying, rather misleadingly, PIANOS. Whilst they do sell pianos, that's really only scratching the surface. The first floor is mainly for classical instruments, whilst the basement houses the guitars, drum kits and amplifiers. There's a lovely corner full of classical guitars, where I can happily while away half an hour, given the chance. The staff are very friendly and never pressure you to buy. There are finance options available for some instruments, too - useful if you're lusting over that new Martin Acoustic, but haven't quite saved enough pennies yet!

I went into Pianos (which don't just sell pianos) to buy a recorder, which was only £10 and a guide book to get me started and refresh my memory for only £3. This is a great place to go if you or somebody you know, most likely a child, has a keen interest in learning a new musical instrument. They even have a spongebob squarepants ukulele which caught my eye. They sell trumpets, saxophones, triangles, guitars and...yes...pianos too!

They have a shop on Midland Raod just off Old Market and also on Gloucester Road in Bishopston. When my last computer broke down I used these guys for a bit f advice. Unfortunately there was no chance of repairing it, but they were very helpful and gave a number of other options to proceed with, including offering me their stock of computers to choose from. If you are having problems, if its a software issue they'll be able to fix it remotely, by gaining access to your computer and then fixing the problem from their office (obviously you have to give consent for this and they'll stay on the phone with you whilst they're fixing it). I reckon that's a really good idea and saves on a lot of cost (both for the customer and the company). Whilst this can help sort out the issue, if it's a hardware roblem then they'll have to attend your house or take the computer away for repair. Either way, their an impressive small outfit and worth a try.

They do repairs and other services which I recommend because the staff there are really knowledgeable. Admittedly, I only went in there for a few CDs but I was very impressed with the store. They have some funky accessories as well, such as a colourful, wavy multimedia tower to stack all your DVDs and CDs.
