After deciding to cancel the contract, the seller's agent refused to acknowledge the cancellation claiming that I "obtained these estimates fraudulently." She also suggested that earnest money should not be returned to me and proceeded to slander myself and my agent. Unable to resolve this dispute I decided to hire Shaun to enforce the real estate contract as written. I had a non-felony, and it was my very first criminal offense…read more Don got me 30 days in jail. Which is pretty horrible, for a first offense, that isn't a felony. He is afraid to speak up for his clients in Woodford County, because it is more of a strict county, and he is more worried about his reputation, then protecting his clients. From the get go, he kept telling me that there would be no jail time. He kept giving me the run around, and changing his story, on several things. I took a blind plea deal with the judge, thinking I would get no jail time, not knowing anything about the criminal system. Don knew that I would get more time, if I didn't take the deal(because most lawyers know the judges, and the prosecutors, and how they work.), and instead of telling me that, he lead me on, saying that it might not be as bad, as If I just took the deal. After, I got out of jail, I had been calling him to see what I should do next. He didn't show up at my first court date afterwards. He then showed up on my second one, and several times after that. What he neglected to tell me though, was that he was charging me around 350 dollars or more, each time he was showing up, to tell the judge nothing more, than I could have easily done myself. Shortly, after I let him go, Don, threatened me by telling me that I better pay him asap, or he would turn me over to a collection agency. He misplaces a lot of things at his old age, and is very unorganized. Maybe he was a better lawyer when he was younger, but he isn't that good at all now. 1-16-23. He's all about the money, and how much he can get from you. As much as I dislike him, and think that he is a bad lawyer and a bad person, maybe he is a descent lawyer for easy cases, and maybe a descent lawyer outside of Woodford County, in Illinois(this is me trying to be objective and nice, by saying this), but you'll be wasting thousands of dollars, if you have him as a lawyer in Woodford county, IL.. Even another guy I talked to while I was in jail, said the exact same thing about Don Pioletti, in Woodford County. since I can't seem to find a way to reply to you joe, other than to edit my current first writing, I'll keep editing it, if I need to. Tell me Joe....? Do you think it is moral of a lawyer(your father) to knowingly charge his client more and more money(me, after I got out of jail.), knowing that his client doesn't know that his lawyer is doing so? Because I thought he was showing up, as part of the original money I paid him up front. One again, this was my first criminal offense, and I knew nothing about how these things worked. Just about the money, and not about the clients. really joe? some counties are "tougher", than others? pfffffft. rolling on the floor, lol!!!!! You're worst than your dad, buddy. At least, with all of his lawyer mumbo jumbo, he at least admitted that Woodford County is one of the toughest places in the whole state. Heck, every person in jail, told me the exact same thing. Lawyer talk 101- when a lawyer says something like "some counties are tougher than others", and can't come out and directly just say it like it is. Making that lawyer a manipulator of truth to their clients, and overall, a lawyer that isn't out for the well being of their clients, and a lawyer who can't be trusted. 2-4-24. Owe, and there is one last thing. I have tried killing myself over 26 times, and have been to 5 different rehabs(all for alcohol). Four of those rehabs, I've been to at least twice. Now, in a case, where I had been drinking whilst thee incident had happened, Don, told me, that it was irrelevant to tell the judge my past, because he's "seen it all, and heard it all" in don's words.
