Well the crew from LVL has had our house for two and a half months - it was a transformation from the basement to the roof. It is beautiful. The attention to detail, the quality of the work- it is unbeatable. They put in a new French drain system and properly sealed the entire basement, creating additional living space for our teen girls.They replaced all the uneven floors and made the entire home not only much more functional- but breathtakingly gorgeous. The problem is then the left the house unfinished, never completing it. Six months later- their electrical work caused a house fire. Repeated attempts to rectify the issues failed until the owner of LaVillaLux just stopped talking to us altogether. Not the best way to do business. Really sad at the outcome.

They take great care to make sure the projects are done well and right. The Team checked in and gave suggestions before proceeding and didn't consider the job done until it was completed. Unneighborly…read more Waking up to their crew yelling in our residential neighborhood before 7 am, working start time, for months is the least of my worries. Being sworn at by their staff is not neighborly. They seen to forget that the street does not belong to them. What's truly frustrating, and why I would never suggest the company- they do not use working phone numbers for their permits that they file with the city. So getting ahold of someone when there's a real issue is impossible. For example, their construction crew is causing a very serious and dangerous issue with the buses scheduled to pick up preschoolers each school day in the morning. They are blocking the road with cranes and equipment in the middle of the bus stops. This causes an unsafe situation. It has also caused children on the street to miss school. Since where their bus stops is being used as a construction area. But since the company does not post any working numbers for permit or the public then there no way to discuss with the owner or manager how unsafe they are being when blocking the street with equipment in the am. And since those on the site are no receptive to discussions with neighbors about problems- problems continue to mount. I like being told to go "fuck myself" and that I'm fat whenever I ask the crew when the will be moving their equipment out of the middle of the road as they block our entries streets access, but especially my front door. This builder runs a real classy crew. I can't wait until they're done building near us. It's horrific and it makes me resent our new neighbors who haven't even moved it but bought with them.

Bobby and his team were supposed to start our project mid pandemic but then slated our start to…read morelate fall/early winter. At our request, we asked for our project to be postponed until early spring due to lack of materials and opening our home to the elements, it was not practical. Construction was to begin right after Easter 2021 but we received notification through an email less than a week before starting that they were no longer going to do our project. There was a huge lack of communication throughout the entire process and when we did actually speak to either Bobby or one of his employees, we were assured each time that everything was in order and those few things that were not would be taken care of in the next couple of days. However we would never get a response on finalization of those particular concerns. We had given a lump sum of money in summer 2021 and asked it to be returned when the agreement was made to start in spring and a new check would be issued. They gave us the run-around and no money was returned until after they canceled and less all our permits which are only good until summer, which is impossible to get a new contractor in that short amount of time. I highly recommend you do your research before you higher a contractor. Make sure to ask for references as well. In the end, I am glad that RJ Steele Construction did not open up my house.

Garrett did such an amazing job on our basement! He'd previously helped us out with a quick…read moredoorframe replacement when we were on a super short deadline for listing our old house so when our basement bathroom had a sewage backup that wrecked the bathroom subfloor, vanity, drywall, etc, we called him up. Then a couple weeks later, yet another sewage disaster turned the job into a much larger project with redoing all the flooring in the entire basement and more drywall, plus two doors, frames, molding, etc. It was such a nightmare at first but Garrett did a wonderful job making it all right for us. The bathroom is so much better and it's a lovely classic style so we won't have to do a basement reno any time soon! The flooring is beautiful throughout. Garrett is so meticulous too, he noticed and fixed all these little things that I wouldn't have even been aware of, and his prices were very reasonable. Definitely a good value!

Those themes continued during the work itself -- in which Ashton kept us informed about the status of the work, the steps he was taking, what was coming next and how it all fit into the general scope of the job. We finished the job on time and in budget and with no surprises. Ashton even came by after the job to check out something unrelated to his workmanship, and offered to help fix what ended up being a non issue. I would definitely recommend Ashton and Little Bear Construction for epoxy floors and for any other future potential general contracting / building projects.
