Dr Paul Weinstein has got to be the most patient, caring, thorough and compassionate cardiologist…read more(or even doctor). Surely he's the best I've come across! I have been recommended to him several times by a close friend whose entire family goes to see him. It took me a few years to actually make an appointment and actually follow through with the appointment. I have an irregular heart beat that a doctor in the past told me it's probably normal for me and that I could see a cardiologist if I wanted. Anyway, I finally saw Dr. Weinstein about 6 months ago when I thought something was wrong with me because I had a stinging sensation in my chest. I called the office not ever having gone there and told them my situation. Because he's a popular doctor, I had to wait about 1 month and a half before he could see me. In the meantime, the person who made my appointment took my info to tell Dr. Weinstein. Later that evening, he gave me a call and although I wasn't able to pick up the phone, he left a pretty lengthy message for me to tell me what he thought. Mind you, I've never been to his office and never showed him any insurance info, so he didn't really have to call me. That was 1 point for him! When I finally made it to the appointment, Dr. Weinstein spent at least an entire hour devoted to me. Seriously, how many doctors have you come across that actually answers ALL your questions and doesn't rush you out? In my past experiences, I would spend more time in the waiting room than I did with the Dr itself! Anyway, they took an EKG, printed it out for me and he explained it to me. He said he was going to make me a "junior cardiologist." He explained what everything meant, told me how the heart works and explained what he thought were reasons for my case. He then gave me advice on what I need to do with every doctor I see. He gave me copies of all my results and even gave me a suggestion to take my EKG to Kinko's and shrink the results to a wallet size and laminate it. He suggested I keep that in my wallet so that in case something happens to me, I could pull that out and show a doctor in the future. He's got so many smart and refreshing anecdotes that you can't help but love him. He even gave me a folder that included a "to do list" he created for me, a copy of my paperwork, referrals to specialists he believed in and a guide on my medical issues. He then asked me to come back in to get a stress test done. That was probably another hour of his time where he did not rush at all. He explained everything very thoroughly and never seems to be rushed. I saw him again earlier this week for a follow up appointment and though he was very nice, I could tell he was very disappointed in me as some of my blood work did not improve. He gave a speech about he cared about me and that he just wanted his patience to be healthy. I have another appointment with him in several months and I promise not to let Dr. Weinstein down! Dr. Weinstein is a very popular cardiologist in the community. He is known to run late with his appointments towards the end of the day because of the fact that he truly does answer every question. This is the kind of waiting I don't mind because I know when it's my turn, he will not speed up the process to get to the next patient. Dr. Weinstein rocks!

Unfortunately, only our first visit was great. During our second visit, I was waiting for the ultrasound room with my father. I heard a loud female voice yell, "Put on your clothes!" Then I heard the angry voice again and heard the mumble of an old man. I thought, "geez, some people treat their family members like this..." And a minute later I heard a disturbing scream: "MY GOODNESS, PUT ON YOUR CLOTHES!!!" I was ready to give judgmental eyes when the door to the ultrasound room opened, but the people who walked out were an old man and our ultrasound tech, not the old man's family member. Great. I was scared for my dad at that point because he's old and weak, so I followed them in and watched the process like a hawk. She remained professional until the end when my dad had a coughing fit laying on the bed as instructed. She made a disgusting face and straight tossed a dirty towel over my dad's face, went "ughh," and returned to her paperwork. If you plan to take your elderly here, supervise the entire visit. This lady has no respect or compassion for the elderly. I don't care if you are good at your job, but if you treat elderly like that maybe you're in the wrong field. In the end, another doctor from the office saw my dad instead of Dr. Choo.

The…read moreprocedure failed and maybe that wasn't his fault, however, I do blame him for the outcome we experience. My father passed away 2 weeks after. My father had dementia, aFib, and severe Aortic Stenosis. During his appointments before the procedure, Dr. Byun was incredibly negligent. I made very many comments and asked several questions since heart health plays a major factor on blood flow which inherently affects your brain. He made me feel stupid and even responded with "I'm very good at what I do." He performed 0 cognitive exams. After the procedure, Dr. Byun was so proud of himself for "bringing back an 83 year old body" that almost passed away. During my father's check up, I began to cry after Dr. Byun said he can only increase the quantity of his life and not the quality. NATURALLY, this broke my heart, and Dr. Byun's immediate response was "I know I know, we all want grandpa to live forever" in the most condescending voice I think I have ever heard from a "medical professional". I then became so upset I had to leave the room and 2 very kind women comforted me and allowed me time to cry alone in the employee restroom. The lack of sensitivity and professionalism from Dr. Byun made me see that he doesn't do what a he does out of love for helping others, he does it because he thinks its fun. He treated my father like a fucking experiment and I find that to be disgusting and disturbing. 2 and a half months have passed now and all I want to say to Dr. Byun is fuck you, fuck your education, and fuck everything you love. You have no idea who that man is to me and the combination of your ignorance on dementia and heart conditions, your lack of empathy and willingness to learn, God complex, and ego that's bigger than your 5'6" body is what makes me want to write this review at all. Please, humble yourself.

Lack of Compassion After Loss…read more My family had entrusted Dr. Arora with the care of our loved one (my father) during a critical time. My father was a patient for over 20 years. Sadly, after his passing, we received no follow-up, no condolences, and no acknowledgment whatsoever. The absence of any communication felt extremely cold and dismissive, especially given the seriousness of the condition and the time spent under this doctor's care. Not to mention my father was on several unnecessary medications due to his artial fibrillation. After his diagnosis, he was removed from all restrictive and so called " necessary" medications by a different doctor and was never in a-fib again. Kickbacks or payments given to healthcare professionals, such as doctors, in exchange for prescribing or recommending specific drugs is truly unethical and quite disgusting and can have long-term negative consequences for patients. While medical expertise is important, compassion and humanity are equally important and vital in the healthcare profession. A simple message of sympathy or closure would have meant a great deal to our grieving family. I hope this practice reflects on how they can support families during such difficult moments.

First of all, he was not proactive about reaching out when my dad had very dangerous test results. We had to call his office and request a call from the doctor. He then called us back and was so combative when we asked questions to try to understand our options. We asked him if there were alternatives to a test that couldn't be performed and he asked me, "well, what do you want doctors to do?" I asked him to just share if there were any alternatives and he sounded offended that I would even ask this question. Then, I informed him that my dad's PCP had changed some of his medications and I wanted to know if it would affect his heart. The doctor said that he didn't prescribe those medications and he was not a kidney specialist. I reiterated that I was asking how the change in medication would affect his heart. He told me to calm down and not yell. He seemed to say that to avoid answering my question. He never even answered the question fully and just gave us some run-around about how we needed to talk to our PCP. I would not trust him to give you proper advice and highly recommend seeking out a different doctor. We definitely will be.
