Really delicious coffee from this local coffee spot! I was a little bit confused with the different names but basically the summer moon and the winter moon coffees are the same but 1 is hot and 1 is cold. The half moon refers to the same drink, except with 50% of the sugar level. Had a great experience here! I was a little intimidated when I first walked in due to all of the different moon terms (I had no idea what anything was) but the servers there were super friendly and were able to explain everything out. I ended up getting a London fog because I'm not a big coffee drinker. And usually coffee shops are kind of lacking in the tea department, but Summer Moon had decent options and the tea ended up tasting delicious! That moon milk is really something. Whenever I had the option, I always chose a local coffee house over the big chains, and Summer Moon did not disappoint. I am over the MOON for Summer Moon! This little coffee shop is around the corner from my apartment. Every time I make the trek there (beware: the parking lot is tight and a shit show), I'm thankful I walked. The line can get very long, but moves rather quickly. The coffee is incredible. Moon milk, their own special blend of sweet cream is divine... I get it with oat milk in all of my lattes and it hits the spot. It's super sweet, but you can order it in increments of full, half, and quarter moon. The reallllll star of the show is the INCREDIBLE, friendly staff. They always make me feel so welcomed, loved, and special! Highly recommend the Blue Moon (lavender) or the Cinnamoon (Cinnamon Toast Crunch vibes, yall) with a quarter moon, with oat milk. Had a very positive experience here when visiting from out of town. Was looking for a place to work and they had plugs, great wi-fi, yummy coffee and a good energy. Loved the local vibe. I took off a star because I found the menu really confusing (esp for coffee). I had no idea everything had sugar in it and the drink was a bit too sweet for my taste. If I went back I'd know and it would be fine so I think of this as my own lack of knowledge. I ordered a cinnamon roll and personally I also thought that was way too sweet. I couldn't finish it. But the texture was good and the flavor was good. I think if there was a bit more clarity on the menu, especially around food (was there hot food? I've been to Summer Moon a few times now and have always enjoyed the drinks I've gotten. I highly recommend anything made with their "moon milk." I'm honestly not sure exactly what it is but it makes the drink SO creamy and is just a nice level up to your typical coffee or tea drink. Service has always been great and typically pretty quick. The coffee shop itself is pretty spacious, there's plenty of seating and even a nice outdoor patio with a service window there too. If parking stresses you out, be prepared for a small and narrow lot that is difficult to maneuver when there's more than one car driving. COVID Precautions: Masks are suggested but not required and it was hit or miss if the employees were wearing one or not. read more

Quick visit to Austin and discovered Summermoon Coffee and I'm so glad I did! There are a few locations throughout Austin and other cities in Texas as well. It's a little confusing what this moon milk thing is, but the lady behind the register was very friendly and happy to explain. She also gave me a sample of "moon milk" to try first. MOON MILK: It's a sweetened sweet milk. There's an icecream at Cold Stone that tastes like this "sweet cream?" something like that. Very tasty and even better combined with espresso. It is quite sweet though. Full moon means ALL moon milk. If you want it less sweet, then they will cut it with nonfat milk. I ordered 3/4 moon, meaning 3/4 moon milk + 1/4 nonfat milk. It was good, but I could probably go down to 1/2 moon too, 1/2 moon milk + 1/2 nonfat milk. In terms of sweetness level comparison, 2/3-3/4 moon is about the same as a vanilla latte at other coffee shops. I started coming here when I got to UT and it's a great study spot (when it wasn't a pandemic). The coffee is also pretty good, I get the half summer moon or half wintermoon depending on the weather and what I'm craving.
