It is clear that they are not only focused on academics, but also on helping students grow in character, faith, and confidence. In just our child's first year, we have seen them far exceed every expectation we had. They have grown so much, and we are incredibly thankful for the support and encouragement they have received. One of the biggest blessings has been seeing the meaningful friendships they have built and how welcomed and loved they have felt. We are so grateful for the PCA community and the teachers who make it such a special place for children to learn and grow.

If I could give this school zero stars, I would. I attended Penn Christian from kindergarten…read morethrough 7th grade. To the best of my knowledge, my family was the only Catholic family at the school, which claims to be open to all Christian denominations. I was told I was going to hell for being Catholic and/or having divorced parents by multiple teachers/administration members on several different occasions. Other teachers also forced me to share sensitive information about my health, which I now realize is not appropriate for a child to be sharing wih teachers. In addition, teachers at this school are incompetent. There were several occasions where a certain teacher would claim to be "learning with us" because she did not understand and was not qualified to teach the subject material. Said teacher freely admitted to the class that she had never even taken a course in the subject (basic Latin) There were times when I, as a student, would learn the material ahead of time and then teach it to my classmates and teacher, who didn't even know enough to correct me when I was wrong. Teachers play obvious favorites, and it affects grades. There was even an incident where a teacher was allowing her middle school students to follow her on social media, following them back, and even making social media videos with students. Obviously this is highly inappropriate. In addition, teachers do not help students with learning disabilities, even those with school-approved IEPs. My brother has autism, and he had accommodations with the school. One teacher, who was in fact a pastor, refused to respect these accommodations and, at one point, physically picked up and shook my brother because the autistic 10 year old child was getting emotional. Overall, this school is very poorly run and when I entered high school, I realized that I had recieved a very poor education and was behind my peers.

The teachers all have many, many years of experience, combined with boundless energy, enthusiasm, a love of learning, and love for children. Many of the teachers have advanced degrees, and they're clearly not there teaching for the little bit of money they earn -- they're there because they love to teach. The teachers are simply amazing and gifted. The building is small, but they make the most of it. They offer a Lunch Bunch class for 2-yr olds with a parent that meets once per week for a few weeks in the Fall and Spring, a 3-yr old class on Tues & Thurs AM or PM, a 4-yr old class on Mon, Wed, & Fri AM or PM, and a Mon-Thurs Pre-K class in AM for 5-yr olds. They emphasize hands-on, sensory-based learning through music, movement, stories, arts, science experiments, learning centers during free-play time, poetry, reading, pre-writing and many special projects, field trips, and guest teachers that you'd normally expect to find only in an expensive, private preschool. It reminds a little of the Montessori teaching style. It's also a very diverse place with students from all over the world and they welcome children with a variety of learning disabilities and developmental delays as well. It's a very accepting place. Unfortunately, the building is not handicap accessible for those in wheelchairs or walkers -- all students must be able to walk up and down stairs. Both of my children went here, each for three years and I can't say enough good things about it. My youngest child is finishing his last year at My School this month, and I'll be a little sad not being there in the future. It's a wonderful, fun, and nurturing place.
