There are security cameras, a door keypad system and all of the staff wear matching t-shirts which makes it easy to identify who is an employee and who is a parent/passer by. They keep things organized and clean, which I am sure is hard to do with a bunch of little ones running around! In the infant room we have been very happy with her teachers Miss Julie and Miss Lauren. They really care about our daughter when she is under their watch. We get both daily and weekly reports to let us know how things are going and what supplies they may need. Although our daughter is only 9 months old I can see daily that she is learning things from her caregivers that I know I am not teaching her at home. Outside of her regular room teachers there are sometimes other staff members during pick up times. Although they may not be familiar with her whole day they do their best to communicate any necessary items effectively. I know it is a difficult decision to select a daycare provider for your child however I would recommend them highly based on our experience.

My family had an extremely negative experience at the Early Years Cranberry location! They did not…read morefollow their handbook at all, however made my husband and I sign off on it as if it were a contract. My children were there for only a month. They both did not have daycare experience previously and I made sure to make the owner and staff aware of this on a couple different occasions. After being there for about three and a half weeks; they gave us a two day termination letter that they emailed to us...didn't even have the courtesy to give it to us in person nor have a conversation with us, or a formal meeting to discuss prior to sending it. I want to mention here that in their handbook they require a two week written notice for withdrawal by parents, however gave us two days notice! They stated that our children weren't transitioning well. My two year old did hit the teacher and I did receive a call regarding this. I asked what this meant and what the next steps would be. Never in that conversation did she mention termination! In fact she gave suggestions for a smoother drop off and the fact that she gets hit by kids frequently. At that point I initiated the conversation about bringing outside sources to assist with my child's transition. She agreed and I instantly contacted early intervention through the county assistance office and also notified the daycare of this. Again, they did not follow their protocol in their handbook that clearly stated that if a child has behaviors they will document behaviors over a week period in real time, have a formal meeting with parents, director, and teachers to discuss behavior plan, track for another two weeks, and if no improvement will ask family to seek outside behavioral support. None of this was completed except for me reaching out to outside supports! Nowhere in the handbook does it mention this will result in permanent termination! I mentioned this to the owner after attempting to call the daycare after receiving the termination notice- no answer. So I waited for the owner the next morning at drop off in order to discuss the letter that was emailed. She didn't even have the decency to bring me into her office and had this conversation with me in the foyer in front of other children, aides and teachers- highly unprofessional! I brought up how they were not following their handbook and when I went to pick my children up that day the teacher mentioned in passing that the two weeks of notes on behaviors were in my child's backpack along with an ASQ that I needed to fill out. This was supposed to be filled out by the daycare at week three- not completed. In the meantime my husband and I were frantically looking for alternative placement for our children which we let them know on several occasions. We both work full time jobs and have no informal supports in the area that could assist so we truly relied on this daycare and they were made aware of this. While all of this was going on; the daycare would call us almost every day to come get our children early which gravely affected our careers and livelihood! This was also brought to the daycare's attention. They made it very apparent that they did not care about this and no accommodations were made for us. I insisted that a formal meeting be scheduled with the teachers, parents, and director. They agreed. Upon this meeting which occurred one day before our termination date they gave us completed ASQ assessments for both. They were not willing to work with us, and told us that the termination date will remain in effect. They stated that a worker came to them in my two year old's room and stated that she would quit if my two year old stayed (give me a break!) needless to say we are no longer there! I'm writing this to warn other families of the nightmare that we lived so no one will ever have to go through what we did. Please, if you choose to go to this daycare read the handbook very carefully! Ask all the questions about termination policies, transition policies and timeframes and behavioral supports. Honestly, they had me thinking that my children were exhibiting abnormal behaviors. We met with a behavioral psychologist who assured us that our kids are normal toddlers who are going through a transition in an inhospitable environment. I have also had SEVERAL conversations with our pediatrician who stated that my two year old is a typical two year old and they felt that this daycare was a joke! I 100% agree!

After persistently trying to get me to leverage their services for months, I signed their placement agreement and paid a significant placement fee. However, after signing, they completely disappeared. I called and called and it took several weeks before someone called me back. After nearly 6 weeks and right before school started, I still had zero candidates provided to me. Very poor experience. I learned a very valuable lesson here and hope others can learn from my mistake.
