Great community, teachers, Spirit of God and very grace-filled. A non-legalistic approach to becoming like Jesus through solid education.

Graduated in 2000!!…read more I had a good h.s. experience, BV is a diverse group of kids with great tolerance for all kinds. It may be in a "yuppie" area, but BV accepts all kinds equally and fairly! I'm not saying kids didn't get picked on (cuz I know I did) but I feel at least when I went there, it wasn't so cliquey, so yes the cheerleaders hung out w/ the jocks, but that's h.s.) but the class of '99 & 2000 were very close and I feel we were a good group :) Academically we rocked as well as our band....sports...ehhh, not so much lol I had some favorite teacher's. Miller, Mr. Waugh, Mr. Gould Mrs. Yost, Mr. Fischer, and Mrs. Rose were all awesome!! Good memories!!!!

Old, OSHA violations in the cafeteria & stage, bland, food that is very easily the worst out of any school I've ever seen, unappealing visuals, confusing layout, unregulated racism and bigotry among students, and a lack of school spirit. The school staff are alright, not bad. Generally helpful. Some have passion. Don't take the painting class, the teacher is notoriously rude and unhelpful. It gets the job done, but if you're looking to move to the Sacramento area, I would consider looking into adjacent cities with better schools.

The kids have plenty of mat room and parents have room and space to hang out and enjoy. The room offers lots of mats for the floor, mats on the wall, mirrors on the walls, rings, and ropes. The best part about this school is the staff working. All of the coaches and volunteers working in this FOLSOM community are phenomenal. They all are fantastic with children. They work really hard to be as patient and helpful as possible- with all the different personalities and ages of each child. They all understand the energy and compassion that each individual needs. If you have children, this is definitely a place to come and bring them. I suggest doing so 100%! I love this place and the people working in it!

Most main stage speaker sessions occurred at the Jill Solberg Performing Arts Center theater for everyone including students/athletes, with the separate individual breakout sessions for coaches/parents/administrators happening in one of the two-story classroom buildings (I believe the two classrooms I visited were typically used for World History and Geography), and continental breakfast and sandwich lunch in the multipurpose room/cafeteria area. The theater was big, about 700 person capacity, comfortable seating, and an impressive lights/sound system for the stage. #whatsyourwhy

Our experience this year was extremely disappointing. When my son's mental health began to decline, I reached out repeatedly for support. Emails often went unanswered, requests for assistance were delayed, and an emergency IEP meeting I requested was never scheduled. During a very serious crisis, I felt abandoned by the very people who were supposed to help. My son experienced ongoing bullying from peers regarding his appearance and weight. Despite our concerns, he felt isolated, unheard, and unsupported. Over time, he began to believe that he was failing both academically and socially. Rather than feeling encouraged, he felt ridiculed and invisible. The most heartbreaking part is that my son experienced a mental health crisis on school grounds and later required extensive therapy and medical treatment. During that time, not a single staff member reached out to check on his wellbeing. The lack of compassion was shocking. Because of missed communication and lack of support during his recovery, my son was also unable to participate in important end-of-year activities, including the promotion walk. Thankfully, my son received the care he needed through private medical providers and is doing much better today. His recovery is due to the dedication of his therapists, doctors, and family. I hope the school takes a hard look at how it supports vulnerable students. Every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and supported, especially when they are struggling. Parents of students who require additional support should ask detailed questions about how the school handles bullying, mental health concerns, and IEP accommodations before enrolling.

The teachers are caring, patient, and truly dedicated to helping each child grow. Ms. Tanya, the director, is awesome--she genuinely cares about the kids and runs the school with so much heart and professionalism. A special shout-out to Ms. Joanna, who has been such a loving and caring teacher. My girls absolutely adore her, and it's clear how much she loves what she does. The school's educational program is excellent, and they've always been flexible and understanding with scheduling. Our daughters have learned so much and built great confidence here. Thank you, Ms. Tanya, Ms. Joanna, and the entire CHM team for creating such a nurturing place for children to learn and thrive. I highly recommend this school to any parent looking for the perfect preschool for their child. -Wagner
