This is actually a correction to a previous review The…read morereview I had posted earlier Was a mistake It was actually meant for another clinic altogether and I had posted it here by mistake I felt I got a fair evaluation during my dot physical I have non-insulin treated diabetes Which means I take non-insulin medications to control my diabetes They just wanted a recent A1C test from my primary care physician And since it was at or below 10 I passed So they didn't get ridiculous with their requirements I was able to easily find out what was required over the phone before I even showed up for the visit They basically just check for hearing, vision, numbness in the feet and hands, because diabetics can lose sensation in their feet and hands as a result of elevated blood sugars as well as excess protein in the urine Which can indicate kidney disease (It can also be a sign of a high protein diet such as low carb) Diabetes can destroy nerve endings Causing diabetic neuropathy So that's why the feet and hands are checked for numbness I've had DOT physicians ask for ridiculous things like a recent eye exam, a note from my doctor about my blood pressure, etc That's not even necessary if you pass the eye exam and blood pressure test during the exam If a person fails the eye exam while wearing their corrective lenses then by all means they should ask for a recent eye exam to make sure there are no eye diseases like diabetic retinopathy, Glaucoma and other conditions that can be complications of diabetes So they didn't ask for unnecessary things as part of my physical Which didn't put any undue burden on me as a CDL holder I feel that a DOT exam should be focused on safety for the driver and for all of the other drivers on the road And I felt that my DOT examination was just that It was about safety, not about putting and unfair burden on me, by inconveniencing me with unnecessary requirements I have also had dot examiners lie to me and tell me that things that they were asking for were legal requirements when they were not I have even been asked for a sleep study by other DOT physicians And I was told that it was law that I had to have one Which is not true That's actually nothing but fat discrimination Because skinny people can have sleep apnea too That did not happen here at afc So yeah if you're a non insulin control diabetic, just get a recent A1C from your doctor and take it to your visit And if everything else is good Like blood pressure, vision, etc You should be fine

Everyone that helped me throughout the entire visit: Robin Alley, Semone, Laurie, Danielle and Dr Brittany Congress!! Everyone was so kind and helpful. X-rays were done. And, a couple of days later, someone from the office called to check how I was doing! I was pleasantly surprised with an urgent care that was not only thorough but kind as well. If you need medical help, this place won't let you down!!

I have gone to this Urgent Care both in the height of COVID and recently (Fall 2022). Wait times…read morewere certainly longer the past few years, as COVID precautions prompted employers and schools to have doc proof of being COVID-free. They were absolutely swamped but I personally still felt that they had an organized system that was very conscious of patient and staff health. They even have a few exam rooms that have outside/separate entrances and will call you in from waiting in your car. Now that many precautions are lifted, it seems wait times are more normal. I checked in (Oct. 2022) on the Solv app via my phone and it shows wait time and where you are in line. The office called me when they were ready for me to come into the lobby and head back for vitals. It was right at my scheduled appt. time. Front desk staff was very friendly. Then, Pam brought me back and took my vitals prior to April heading in to examine me and chat about symptoms and causes. She was very thorough, patient, and kind. Sometimes, you feel like just another number in a medical office, but it is clear this staff genuinely cares about patients and their health. I only came to urgent care because my GCP is booked out several weeks(even for sick visits) and I was miserable. However, April mentioned several people use her at UC instead of a general care practitioner...and I'm not surprised. Co-pay might be pricier at a UC facility but the experience was as painless as a doc visit can get. I will only use this office when I have an urgent care need instead of others closer to home.

This urgent care is the definition of everything wrong with profit-driven medicine. The doctor I…read moresaw was careless and negligent--she didn't even bother to properly document my visit or the plan we discussed. She told me directly that if I wasn't better in a few days, I should call and she'd send in a prescription. Simple enough, right? Except when I did exactly what she told me, the note "wasn't in my chart," and suddenly no one could help me. Their solution? For me to come back in and hand over another co-pay/coinsurance for the exact same diagnosis that hasn't changed. This isn't healthcare, it's a money grab. They had the chance to do the right thing--acknowledge the doctor's mistake, honor what was said, and actually help a patient in need. Instead, they chose to hide behind missing documentation and force me back through their doors so they could squeeze more money out of me. Patients come to urgent care because they need help quickly, not because they want to play billing games with a clinic that clearly puts profit above people. The disregard for patient care, accountability, and basic integrity here is appalling. If you want to be treated like a walking ATM instead of a human being, by all means, go here. If you actually care about your health, go anywhere else.
