Terrell, who prepared me and the treatment room for Dr. Butterfield, was friendly, supportive and made getting ready for the procedure almost relaxing. He attended to every detail, and was willing to even help me get off my shoe (foot was swollen). Dr. Butterfield has this calm confidence of a physician who knows his field. He gently debrided the injury, so much so that I didn't need anesthetic shots. He explained everything well. He was able to save me an unneeded appointment at instructed by the ER (duplicating services). I walked out with less pain than that which with I arrived. Sabrina, his assistant was very intuitive, she anticipated Dr. Butterfield somewhat like she could mind read. It speeded up the contact and helped him focus on his interaction with me. He didn't take my symptoms seriously but kept putting me off for months, neglecting me as my numbness got worse, until he finally sent me to a neurologist. To make a long story short, I had a tumor the size of a walnut in my neck that had smashed my spinal cord until it was nearly severed and was swollen and black. The orthopedic surgeon said I may never walk again. However, after the surgery, I can walk but need assistance. I have lost the fine motor skills in my hands. Worst of all, I cannot drive because I do not have feeling in my legs. Dr. Hinkle diagnosed me with Afib in February 2016. He did not give me patient education about the dangers of Afib or prescribe medication or counseling and so nothing was done. I switched doctors but the Afib was not caught until I had a stroke in June 2024. If Dr. Hinkle had put me on the meds I needed or given me any information about my options or even recommend that I go to a cardiologist to get my heart checked, I may not have had the stroke. Unlike many therapists, Frank does NOT use a cookie cutter approach. My treatment is tailored to my needs. The exercises Frank has given me to do at home have really helped speed the time to recovery.
