Stephen ripped out our old flooring and the next day, Stephen and John came in and started putting the new floors in. It's a big process to rip out floors, install new floors, sand floors and then varnish the floors. They did a great job, they even moved a few pieces of furniture for me as my husband went to work while they were here. Definitely not part of their job but they kindly took care of it. The floors came out great as you can see from my photos I attached and I would recommend them if you are looking for new or refurbished floors. We had 4 different contractors come by and we went with Summit because he was always quick to respond to our questions and was so knowledgable when it came to flooring. I also enjoyed their company while they were here. They never seemed bothered when I came up and maybe asked a question about the flooring process. They were both pleasant and polite. read more

We had stairs in our home replaced last month. After Stephen came out and took a look, he sent a proposal comparative to others in price. He showed up on time each day, and worked throughout very oppressive heat. He was admittedly working in an old house, so things can sometimes be tricky. The stairs did come out nice for the most part, including the landing at the top. But, I did notice the some of the molding pieces were broken, and some of the treads were roughly sanded. One was even splintering. After contacting him, he promptly came out and made the corrections. But, it looks like the molding may not hold (see picture below). It is an easy fix, that I will do. But, I was hoping this would not be necessary, as the work was just done. I'm hoping this is only one piece, and will not become the norm. read more

Stephen and his team ripped up around 1500 sq feet of carpet and tile to install white oak flooring to match our first floor. Results are great - holding up well so far and you can barely tell where the flooring transitions from old to new. We strongly recommend Summit for hardwoods. Stephen installed white oak stairs to replace the carpeted stairs original to the house. Being a retrofit, there were numerous challenges, but Stephen (and we can't stress this enough) proactively communicated and discussed options with us along the way--he was really committed to us being excited about the result. He took extra steps to make sure the treads were finished to match our floors exactly. We were also replacing the banisters, so he made sure all of the foundation elements were in place to install updated railing and banisters to the staircase.
