I went through a very traumatic accident in November 2025. I broke tibia, fibia, ankle, injuries to back, neck, and other i. I do not feel I need special treatment; however, a tiny bit of bedside manner would be great. I had no medication show up on drug screen 2 times. I time because I had to change my appointment a few days out because our dog had to go to urgent veterinary. Second time it just came clean. These test aren't always accurate but chances are I get put on every two weeks visits or they discharge me. I don't mind taking a test anytime they ask but to go to this Dr takes up almost my entire day because of the drive time and wait time. read more

In 2024, I was incorrectly charged, and I reported the issue to the Better Business Bureau. The business sent a letter to the BBB stating that I didn't owe anything. However, a week ago, I received another bill from Georgia Interventional Pain. I tried calling the number the owner provided, but it turned out not to be a billing number -- which was already misleading. The correct billing number is 678-317-0741. I have spoken with several people, but most of the managers are always "out to lunch" from 9 to 5. I was promised a call back on Thursday and again on Friday, but no one has followed up. I would strongly advise others to avoid this business. I have called multiple times, yet they refuse to respond or explain the charges. They lie and dodge calls. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau again and will continue to take steps to protect my credit read more

If you'd like to be treated like a criminal just because you're in pain, this is the place for you! The Doc was okay in my opinion, but I've decided to go elsewhere for my epidural due to the way I was treated by the rest of the staff. Inexcusable! I spent hours on the phone trying to schedule an appointment, only to be told that I had to cancel my procedure (epidural steroid injection) to make an appointment with the physician to discuss my pain. I was prescribed gabapentin @ 600mg per day even though I'm in tremendous pain constantly. The minimum therapeutic dose of gabapentin is 900mg/day. The Doctor and staff here are excellent. I'm a disabled Veteran with chronic pain. They got me in to see them quickly and the Doctor and staff are caring and kind. They have helped me immensely. They also have helped my 84 year old Mother who has been in so much pain in the past that she couldn't move or sit without hurting. I wasted an entire day to come to an appointment that should have never been scheduled. After filling out a stack of papers and then answering many questions after being called back, the young man came in and out of the room asking several more. He then came back and said the np would not see me because of the reason I left my previous Dr office. Yes I made a mistake months earlier but would have had no problem passing a screen today. I wasn't given that opportunity. My complaint is this information should be on their page so appointments will not be scheduled unnecessary. Don't waste people's time!!! read more

Summit is killing my friend. I'm a neighbor to a lady in her 60's who is a patient of Dr Sureka, now at Summit. She suffered terrible spinal injuries in a car wreck. To keep her moving and strong enough for surgery the doctor prescribed opiates. Then her doctor moved to, or was bought out by Summit. She says whenever she makes an appointment with him to have her prescription renewed she is intercepted by an assistant, who professes to know nothing whatsoever about her opioid prescription and mysteriously, every time, claims her doctor isn't there. Yup. Cold Turkey. Meanwhile she went from being relatively functional on opioids, even with a shattered spine, with hope for a normal life again one day -- to lying on her bed keeping as still as possible, dehydrated, praying her phone battery doesn't die before one of her neighbors answers. Her once beautiful home is so bad it was accepted for a TV show about filthy houses. She wastes away in such agony she rarely summons the will to eat. I am not even going to speak of her toilet arrangements, but all-pervading agonizing PAIN makes your world small. YOU can drive across town on a whim. SHE can't reliably reach her bedside table. Imagine that. Now imagine it was done DELIBERATELY. By people who think it's funny to book you appointments then pretend they aren't there. Finding all your scans and paperwork enough to start again somewhere else? The strength to do that no longer exists. We have to work with what we have. I thought, "I'll sort this out". So. I contacted her doctor, explained the situation and he told me where he was. I phoned up, spoke to Heidi, made an appointment, loaded her wheelchair -- when I have slipped disks myself -- and went with her the 20 agonizing miles. She was excited to get her pain meds! She made plans to bake a pie and watch a movie with me. Guess what?? The assistant intercepted her, said there had been a mistake and her doctor wasn't there and sent her away without her prescription. Again. I saw it this time. We went home. I asked her doctor what happened. Get this.. HE HAD NEVER BEEN TOLD SHE HAD ARRIVED. Let that sink in. Your doctor wants to see you. His assistant doesn't allow it. He is told you NEVER SHOWED UP. He says. Why? Why are we gaslighting little old ladies? What in heaven's name is going ON at this facility?? Whatever it is, it isn't the CDC Guidelines. They say "Patients should receive appropriate pain treatment based on a careful consideration of the benefits and risks of treatment options." The opiates were working, she had a reasonable quality of life waiting for surgery and the surgery was expected to lead to a recovery whereupon she could likely discontinue them. Those were the benefits. The risks? Well.. as they don't include being eaten alive by rats, I'd say they were kinda moot. All hope of being strong enough for surgery is being lost now because her muscles are wasting away. She CAN'T move to maintain her strength. Rehab is out. It is absolute agony and Summit did this to her. She spends her time in bed now, dehydrated, waiting to die in excruciating pain, and it will be a NASTY death. As I am the person most likely to find her body after she is eaten alive by rats -- there WILL be photographs taken by me, and video, and these WILL be made public before I even call it in. I will spare no-one's blushes. Each of you at Summit will explain to the public, with diagrams, why you ignored the CDC guidelines designed to safely get her the medication she needs and why you thought it a great idea to turn this loving and vibrant woman, MY FRIEND, towards whom you held an absolute duty of care, into some rotting, STINKING carcass. What could you POSSIBLY get out of all this? Well.. I don't know if the 'assistant' is writing the scripts and stealing the drugs, but it seems a reasonable working hypothesis, doesn't it? I heard two crippled guys discussing how they might be better off going the street route for their meds as we were exiting the front door. Maybe they should have tried the back door, huh? read more

There is a number of problems with this clinic. The front office staff is useless. I had appointments scheduled for times when the office was not even open. I showed up and the doors were locked. The clinic was empty. When I called the practice number I got told well sorry about that but if you run now the Johns Creek office can see you before they leave for the day from that location. I am of course like yeah I am not going to race to your Johns creek location because of your mess up. Of course it's my fault for not realizing the clinic was closed. Hey y'all gave me the appointment time. Then there is the problem that 90% of the time they would call me two days or so before the appointment and ask to move me to another time. Apparently they can't keep their books full enough to keep their clinic open when they say that they are going to have it open. That says a lot about them. They are always running late. There is more often than not long waits to be taken back. Their time management skills are not the best. They won't see you unless you are willing to do injections of some kind because this is how they make their money. Originally I told them that I was not comfortable doing the injections. I needed to talk to the doctor about some issues first. He refused to talk to me and insisted I be rescheduled. I thought to see him for a nice chat about my concerns but when I got to the scheduling desk they just acted like I would get over this and rescheduled my procedure. So I texted via Facebook them and emailed them with my list of concerns regarding the injections. Finally someone calls me to reschedule me for a chat with the doctor or so I thought. No I got nurse ratchet screaming at me about the type of pain clinic this was in regards to care and then the doctor literally just comes in and discharged me from care. They said I needed to do something besides pills to control the pain. I told them I was seeing a chiropractor who was helping greatly. This appeared to offend them. If it is not making them money then you are not doing enough. Since being discharged I am thankful that most of my conversations about my concerns in regards to their shots was in messenger and email. Apparently they twist around what you say to suit their needs. I have heard multiple complaints about this problem. I should add that the doctors at Georgia Pain have irrevocably broken their Hippocratic oath when they stopped creating individualized treatment plans for their patients and started pushing injections for everyone. They don't care about you, only the money they can make by billing your insurance for these very expensive injections. I am sure the clinic staff will attack my review and that just makes them just look worse. I am pretty sure the state should be investigating this clinic. read more

I've have used Dr. Mandyam for many years and now, my son is a patient here also. I am so grateful that this fine group handles so many conditions. I feel as if they have SAVED my life. I know I would be living in misery, if it weren't for Dr.Mandyam and his team. I have recommended friends to this group, who are now long time patients also. Rudest front desk staff EVER. I was treated like trash and like I was trying to steal something. I was told I owe a deductible for $45. I let her know that I met my deductible and didn't need to pay this. It must have sent her into some angry annoyed mood because she was not backing down and was more rude. I asked her to verify with insurance. She looked at my account and said yep you owe it and I said can you call and verify it , apparently she called a co worker who they chatted about how annoying I was and obviously didn't know my own account. She tells me that they looked at it again and I still owe. WTH! I just took my phone out and said I would call myself. When I get insurance on phone she won't talk to the insurance company for my insurance to tell her how to verify the deductible. She also says insurance department at her office has to check it. My insurance lady called their insurance office and talked to her coworker who then called this rude lady who proceeded to tell me that I was good and didn't owe anything. ( no apology ) The entire time she mumbled and made comments about me. It was super rude. I feel like a little training on how to treat people might come in handy here. Oh and not talking about people while they are in the room - I felt like I had go back to high school. They really need a lesson on ethics , courtesy and overall business . I recently took my mother here for an injection. For as chaotic and as uncertain the pandemic has made running a medical practice they handle it very well. The wait time was a bit long with the other office location being closed because of said pandemic but the actual procedure with sedation was over and done within 40 minutes. Also as we currently have no insurance they were helpful with billing and being upfront with how much the actual procedure cost was. So many times we call a doctors office and they say one thing and just flat out refuse to speak about prices over the phone. Horrible place. Pill mill just dishing out pain meds instead of resolving problem. Went there 3 times for steroid injections, had several x-rays of my hip and I was getting worse. I had to go to the ER to find out my hip was so bad I needed emergency surgery to have a metal rod. read more

I have been in pain for 7 months. Finally got an MRI and when I showed up for my appointment to get MRI results they didn't even know why I was there. I had to tell them and they said they hadn't received my results even though the imaging service told me they had sent them. They proceeded to say the portal was down so they couldn't get the information. They did not care about my pain or my frustration. So disappointing. Will never go back. read more

I came in to see Dr. Mandyam and was happy to get in, the receptionist who took my call as a new patient was very understanding of my pain and was able to get me to see the Dr. On the same day. She let me know that there may be a bit of a wait time, but that is understandable since they squeezed me in. They understood my pain I felt. They reminded me as soon as I check in for my appointment that there may be a wait time even though my appt was for a certain time. I told them I was just so happy that they took me and gave me an appointment. Dr. Mandyam when he first say me apologized for the wait and took care of my concerns and gave me some relief . This is one of the most frustrating doctors offices I've ever been to. Expect to wait more than a half hour after the scheduled time of the appointment just to be called back. In office they are generally backed up, the waiting room is usually crowded with the TV on loudly (this has gotten better since COVID.) The staff in the Cumming office are generally nice but when I call in it's totally different; They're unprofessional, rude, cold, and uncaring. Every time I have to call in I spend a minimum of 30 minutes on the phone and get transferred to at least 4 different people. They have different people who deal with prescriptions, appointments, injections, billing, etc. and none of them ever seem to communicate with each other. I go to their office due to Chronic pain from Ehlers-Danlos and Occipital Neuralgia and have missed a few appointments when I've had severe migraines. Either my spouse or I will call that that day or as soon as I can after and many times they've been unable to schedule appointments in time for my medication to be refilled and then have refused to fill medication without being seen, instructing me to go to the ER if I go through withdrawals (During a Pandemic, in a hot state.) The doctor's I've seen are okay. They always seem to be in a huge rush though and don't spend much time in the patient room. I'm sure some of it has to do with insurances paying out less and doctor's having to see more patients to make a profit, and while I sympathize I also want to know that I'm seen and heard and my issues are addressed. The few minutes I have seen Dr. Mandyam each visit are usually productive and helpful, I would love to be able to have good, consistent care from them. A couple of the doctors own the practice (I think) and I'd hope they would care about their patient's well being and satisfaction. However there seem to be so many negative reviews and nothing has changed. read more

Do not schedule a appointment that is important at this office or with Douglas Freiberger. They do not care about your health, wellbeing or if they are putting your life in danger. I was scheduled for a appointment with Douglas Freiberger at the canton location. I was having severe pain in my left thigh and was concerned it was a blood clot. Having had past exxperience with them I was really worried. I was unable to drive or barley stand due to the pain and was getting a ride. My was running late so I called and spoke with the office and informed them and asked if I called a lyft ride would I be to late to be seen. I spoke with 3 different people in the office and was told to come on. When the lfyt arrived to pick me up I again called the office went through the same 3 people to let them know how long the gps said it would be and was told again to come on. I spoke with them a 3 rd time giving them an update on my ETA and was assured that was ok. I walked in the office and was told that I could not be seen by nasty woman and her rude Co-Workers. now mind you my lyft had left and I was already in tears from the pain in my leg. i was told that they dis not know who I had apoken with but it was auch a large practice with so many people there was no telling. It would not matter who I had spoken with she said because the Doctor was gone. She told me I had 5 minutes to before I had to be out because they where locking the doors. In tears I tried to explain I needed a place to charge my phone to call for a ride and that it was freezing outside and I was not able to stand. Her response was it did not matter she had to lock up. read more

My mom has been coming here regularly for months now and today she went in for her normal injections and today while they were giving her the injections they broke one of the needles in her muscle and now she is forced to get surgery to get it out. The wait time is also ridiculous, takes 3 hours everytime she's comes and the staff is very unprofessional. read more

I recently became a patient of Dr. Mandyam of Summit Spine & Joint Center and had issues with each visit with the young unprofessional staff. Upon entering the office,it was grossly over booked with many "interesting" patients. For the last visit after checking out the staff member told to wait for the prescriptions. I did not think I needed the scripts but I obliged and sat for them. After approximately 20 minutes another patient received his and I asked about why the wait. They then told me I have no scripts written (as I expected) and i went on my way...no apology and the millennial didn't even look up. That was the mild. Today, after making an appointment 30 days in advance I was called yesterday to come in earlier than my 3:45 appointment. I agreed to 3:15, losing half a day of work to make it better for the Dr. or office. Then today, i was called two more times to come in even earlier. I said I cannot and arrived at 3:10 pm I was not called back into the back office until 4pm. After a Q&A with a nurse she had asked if I was on blood thinners. I said yes a very small maintenance dose which she said she had to check with the Dr. After another 20 min she said they couldn't give me the epidural procedure. After my complaints of not saying anything until now she went back out and the procedure nurse came in to get me for the shot. I went into the procedure room took off my belt wallet, etc, and laid on the table to get ready. Then another "doctor" came in and said they couldn't do the procedure and said due to safety, blah, blah, blah. I asked WHY they waited for 30 days, and two time changes, and 2 hours in the waiting room and half disrobed to tell me this when they have all my meds and records?? At this point I was furious to cancel two of my own meetings and lose a day of work for these unorganized , uncaring, and unprofessional staff that I walked out and let everyone still waiting about my experience. They wait time is very long. Ever since they got approved for Medicaid they are double booking appointment. If I did like Dr. Mandyam. I would find another center. I live within six miles from the Cumming location and I have to wait an hour or longer. When you are in severe pain it can be very nerve wracking. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Mandyam's for a long time. He is intelligent, capable, and I trust him with my life. The wait time can sometimes be a bit long (they are working on this) but there is a reason patients wait to see him. He is simply the best! My chronic back pain has been debilitating but every since I have been going here, my quality of life has improved significantly through his care. This is not a place where they throw a bunch of pills at you like the previous reviewer stated (Ive read all his yelp reviews and he is never happy about anything) but rather a place that keeps me able to do basic activities like get up on the morning and fix breakfast for my kids. They follow all government and DEA laws so if you're only interested in getting a bunch of roxicodones, then go somewhere else. If you want to get better, go see Dr. Mandyam and his staff. read more
