We went as far as to purchase $500 worth of services (as gifts for all of our family/ friends) and later found out she wasn't responding to anyone who did try to book, or when she did, make the process difficult by asking them to verify that he made the purchase. Not a business I would recommend. Save yourself the frustration with this person.

That's why when she reached out later on to tell me about her special bundle of 4 one-hour massages for $140, I decided to buy it. Since then, it's been difficult communicating with her and redeeming all the massages. She's cancelled at the last-minute on me three times in a matter of 8 months. The first time she told me she double-booked and had class to get certified for eyelash extensions (November 2020), and then she was sick on the other two occasions (February and June 2021), which is fine cause I'd rather not make her work if she's ill nor do I want to be in close proximity with someone who has a bug. I understand life happens and it's hard juggling all the appointments that must be coming her way with the Groupon deal. To be fair, there was one time I missed an appointment because I put it in my calendar incorrectly. She was nice enough not to charge me a no-show fee. So I want to give her credit for that. However, when she cancels on me, she often fails to reschedule with me and I have to follow-up with her several times to get a time booked. I have one massage left that I've been trying to redeem, but she stopped responding to my messages. I'll just let her have that money. I'm not here to badmouth her, because I think she's pretty decent with her massages and offers a great deal on the pricing. But I also want to share my experience about the constant scheduling issues. I wish her well and hope things get better in her life.

Extremely disappointing experience, especially regarding how management handled a gift-card issue…read more I purchased a Christmas promotion from Spavia Sandy in December 2019, under the previous owner: buy three gift cards of equal value and receive a fourth of the same value free. At the time, I was explicitly told that Spavia gift cards did not expire. I still have the original cards. One had no expiration date. The other had 12/31/19 printed on it, which the employee physically crossed out while telling me the cards did not expire. Since I purchased it in December, I specifically asked about the date and was assured it was not an issue. The card I gave my mother was never used because she passed away suddenly before she had the opportunity to use it. I later found it while cleaning out her home and brought it with me to my appointment along with my own card. First, I want to emphasize that the massage itself was excellent. Donovan was fantastic. He was professional, attentive, and genuinely helpful with my pain. I was so impressed that I planned to book three more appointments with him. He deserves recognition for his service. Unfortunately, checkout completely ruined the experience. The receptionist told me one card would work but that she needed to contact the new owner about the other. The owner was contacted via FaceTime, given a brief explanation, and immediately said the promotional card would not be accepted. Then, incredibly, the receptionist told the owner that I was refusing to pay. I never refused to pay. I was trying to resolve a legitimate question about a gift card I had been explicitly told did not expire. I was even attempting to find Spavia's corporate contact information so I could clarify whether the previous owner's representation was still honored. Instead, the owner instructed the receptionist to call the police. Four officers ultimately arrived. I explained the situation and repeatedly stated that I was not refusing to pay. Spavia already had my credit card information, and I ultimately told the receptionist to charge the remaining balance to my card. I simply asked that no gratuity be added because I was extremely uncomfortable with how the situation had been handled. I was also told that under the current owner's policies, promotional gift cards expire after a maximum of three months. That may be the current policy, but it was not the policy under which I purchased these cards in 2019. I was never informed that previously purchased cards would suddenly be subject to a different expiration policy after the ownership change. One officer still had the disputed gift card and told me Spavia wanted to tear it up. Thankfully, that did not happen. I retained the card because it is evidence of what I purchased and what I was told. The ordeal added roughly 30-45 minutes of unnecessary stress to what was supposed to be a relaxing evening. It also caused me to miss another appointment and incur a missed-appointment fee. There were many reasonable ways this could have been handled. Spavia could simply have charged my card while investigating the circumstances surrounding the original purchase. Instead, a confusing gift-card issue was escalated to the police as though I were refusing to pay -- when I was not. Donovan: 5 stars. Management's handling of this situation: completely unacceptable. I hope the current ownership reviews how situations like this are handled. Calling four police officers over a customer attempting to resolve a legitimate gift-card issue, while misrepresenting that customer as refusing to pay, was an extraordinarily poor customer-service experience. I will not be returning to this location, despite the fact that I would have happily continued seeing Donovan.

I had severe pain and an impingement in my left shoulder, constant neck pain, pain in my lower back and left hip and I just felt like a mess. I'd started training for an NPC bodybuilding/bikini competition and thought I would have to drop out because it was too hard to work out with the constant pain. After a few sessions with Nonna, as well as rest and adjustments to my workouts, I started seeing exponential improvements. Within 5 visits, I could lift 25lbs in a lateral shoulder raise when before it was difficult for me to lift 5lbs without pinching and sharp pain. I don't typically leave bad reviews and I hate doing so much I got a massage here last night and…read moreleft very uncomfortable. For starters, I am also a massage therapist, and have been getting massages my entire life and it's really hard to make me feel unsettled during them. I usually love coming to places like this, and came in last night because my hamstrings were incredibly tight. The room was dead silent and had no music which wasn't the end of the world but made it feel a little awkward. The guy massaging me was mostly just pushing lotion around and I asked 3-4 times for more pressure, he said ok, and then didn't go any deeper. To make matters worse, I'm nearly positive he was texting through most of it. His phone would vibrate right by my head, and then suddenly he'd only have one hand kinda absently thumbing at my neck for a minute or two. He had the sheet draped almost off my butt it was so low but despite this, didn't ever work into my glutes at all. My feet were also never worked. I got him to go a bit deeper on my legs which is what I mostly needed, but again, just palm kneading. He then left, I assumed he went to get something but after ten minutes (of only an hour long massage) passed, I started to wonder if it was supposed to be over but when I lifted my head the door was wide open for anyone to walk by. Eventually, a woman came back in, grabbed the sheet so suddenly and almost pulled it entirely off of me, until it was once again, draped along the bottom of my butt. She then undraped both of my legs so the fabric was sorta just piled up between my thighs (this is an illegal drape by the way) , and used a hot towel to clean me off. Despite no one having worked my glutes, she came up under the little bit of covering, separating with her hands as she moved. I don't think it was intentional or anything of course, but the hot towel was fully touching my genitals. I've been to a lot of traditional massage places and I'm fine being entirely nude with nothing but a towel covering my butt if I feel like I can anticipate the flow of the massage and the session goes smoothly and allows me to relax and trust the therapist but this wasn't that. I'm used to the tapotement moves to wake up the body but she was fully just smacking my spine hard. She flipped me over them and I finally got some really good pressure on my head and arms but it was 5 minutes or less at that point, compressed the front of my legs but didn't uncover them. The massage ended and when I paid she reminded me that it was 70 by pointing to the sign, I said yes that's fine, she said it was also 3 dollars for using a credit card, again that's fine, and then she handed me a receipt where she ran the card for 83, ten dollars extra. I was kinda jarred at this point and just wanted to leave so didn't say anything. I was already going to tip and still did on top of that. Maybe I shouldn't have, but I still got some relief and I always tip, it was mostly habitual but feel like it was an uncomfortable, interrupted massage that I got charged extra for.
