They worked on my car fast, and we're very helpful in answering all and any questions I had. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

Took the "manager" almost 5 hours to do my vehicle even dropped off early. called around 430 to see…read morewhat was going on with my vehicle got an excuse about how the tech had to redo a few windows a couple of times. ok fine I understand. would have been great to get a phone call saying that it's taking a little longer than expected. 1st red flag. was told to show up between 430 and 5pm. showed around 5 he still wasn't finished. went inside to talk to the receptionist didn't get a sorry they were acting kind of weird to be honest, like something happened. 2nd red flag. the tech finally pulled my car around. At the time I did know he was the "manager" I went outside to look at it all but the windshield had some scratches on it. Mind you I worked at a competitors shop with wraps window tinting ceramic coating you name it. I was a quality control/ product ordering manager for them. So I know what "cut" windows from tinting looks like. I went back inside still no apologies for how long it was taking nothing. the receptionist asked if everything was ok I told him what I saw a lady that was at the desk with him got up and went to get the manager. he came to the front and asked what was wrong I told him. We went out side I showed him the scratches. he said the only reason they were visible now was because of how dark the tint is. Turned around and went back inside. still no acknowledgment about how long it took or anything. I then talked to the receptionist again. He asked me if the manager took care of everything. I told him no said that nothing was wrong and it was because of the how dark the tint was. At this point the manager didn't introduce himself to a new customer acted like had done nothing wrong and look like he was more irritated about what has happened instead of taking care of the customer Mind you still no apology. I paid for a job that was half a$$3d and by the manager no less. I then left not satisfied with the work more irritated than anything. Kinda explains what took soon long with the tint. It shouldn't take but a couple of hours to do the job and by a "manager" probably less time. I'm wondering if he was trying to fix his screw up in the time. Got a text a day later asking to leave a comment about my service. Did so it was negative of course. Later that day I got another text from someone named sunny. Told them what had happened they asked if I could take pictures of the windows in doing so I had noticed now my rear passenger headrest was sitting kind of funny went to go adjust it and put it back down in doing so it came off the posts. Im now line wtf seriously not only had this guy cut up my windows he destroyed the head rest also. Before they say oh that was done previously no It actually wasnt. No body rides in the back I have no reason to move the head rest at all. Sent pictures told sunny about this crickets now they were so quick to try to help and now I was ghosted. Its Wednesday now when sunny was texting me. Gave them till Monday the 27th still no word so I texted sunny back Tuesday the 28th still nothin. So frustrated about this not on am I out 5 very expensive windows now I have to order the headrest from Germany that going to cost 500+ shipping and taxes. Thanks suncontrol first and last time going there.

(Dark Windshield Tint Requires Medical Exemption at Sun Control)…read more I honestly couldn't recommend a better place to get your windows tinted in Minnesota. I went to Tint World first, and they quoted me $992 "after discounts" for the same package I got here at Sun Control for a much better price. That alone made me feel good about my decision, but the experience sealed the deal. This isn't my first time coming here--on my last car, I got their entry-level tint, which was decent for adding some privacy. But this time, I went with XPEL XR Prime Plus, and the difference is insane. If you've looked into XPEL, you already know it's top-tier and comes with great benefits, but what really stood out was the team at Sun Control. They're super easy to work with, clearly focused on making sure you're happy, and they had my whole car done in about 3 hours, including the front and back windshields. What really impressed me was their attention to detail. My car has a third brake light that's inside the rear windshield. Without me even asking, they hand-cut the tint, and it looks perfect--like it came from the factory that way. No rough edges, no misalignment, just clean and precise work, leaving the light bright and visible. That level of care isn't something you get everywhere, and it makes a huge difference. I can see other shops disregarding something like this; and I wouldn't even have noticed. I did a ton of research before getting my tint done and came across a lot of horror stories from other places, so I was a little nervous going in. But Sun Control absolutely delivered, and now I've got nothing but a great experience to share. I seriously think this is the best place in the state for tint. Plus, they back it up--a 2-year warranty on their work, and the film itself has a lifetime warranty. If anything happens, they fix it at the shop, no hassle. If you're looking for a place that does quality work at a fair price without the runaround, this is it.

Complaint Regarding JBS Energy Services / Justin Brock Staley…read more I am submitting this complaint regarding JBS Energy Services, operated by Justin Brock Staley, also known as Brock Staley. I originally met him through Thumbtack. The first job involved two simple plumbing items at one of my properties: a small leak from a plumbing fitting/knuckle in the HVAC room and a toilet shutoff valve that would not turn the water off properly. I spoke with Justin over the phone, and he quoted me $250 to stop both leaks. Based on that quote, I agreed to have him complete the work. Justin went to the property with another person named Mark, who appeared to be the one with more plumbing experience. The leak in the HVAC room was stopped. However, instead of replacing the toilet shutoff valve, Justin said he adjusted it and that it no longer needed to be replaced. That did not make sense to me, because the issue was that the valve would spin and would not shut the water off. In my opinion, that type of issue typically requires the valve to be replaced. Justin took a video showing the HVAC area was no longer leaking. He also took a video of the bathroom valve, but the video only showed the valve being opened. It did not show the valve successfully shutting the water off. I trusted that the work was completed and paid him. The agreed price was $250, but the invoice came through at $315. When I asked why the invoice was higher than the amount quoted, he said it simply cost more. I explained that any price increase should have been discussed and approved before the work was done, especially since one of the items was not actually replaced. Since only one issue appeared to be fully addressed and the second was only claimed to be adjusted, I would have expected the invoice to be no more than the original quoted amount, if not less. I paid the $250 amount. Later, I went to the property and discovered the water had been completely shut off. When I asked Justin about it, he said they must have forgotten to turn it back on. When the water was turned back on, the toilet valve still would not shut off properly and continued to run. At that point, it appeared the valve had never been properly fixed. I had to hire another plumber to correct that issue, which cost me additional money out of pocket. Before I discovered the first job was not fully completed, Justin and I had discussed a second job. That second job involved installing a water heater that was already plumbed and using the same size connections, along with repairing/patching a scraped bathroom ceiling area with texture. This job was also quoted at $250. The water heater was installed, but unnecessary additional fittings were purchased and left on the counter. The ceiling texture was done too quickly and did not properly dry or adhere. The texture began falling off the ceiling. Justin did come back to try to redo the ceiling, but the repair still did not properly stick, and the paint/finish did not match. I ultimately had to scrape part of it off, reapply texture, and repaint the area myself. After that, Justin sent me a bill for $450 for the second job, even though the quoted price was $250. This was the second time the final invoice was substantially higher than the quoted amount. After I questioned the invoice and reminded him that the toilet valve from the first job had never been properly fixed, he reduced the bill by only $25, making the new amount $425. At that point, I did not believe I owed him the additional amount. In my view, I had already paid him $250 for the first job, but only part of that work was actually completed, and I then had to pay another plumber to fix the toilet valve. On the second job, the water heater was installed, but the ceiling repair was not completed correctly and required additional work by me afterward. Justin then filed a mechanic's lien against my property in Scott County. The property was listed for sale on the MLS, and the lien created a serious issue with closing. Because the property was being sold, I was put in a position where I had to deal with the lien quickly in order to move forward with the sale, even though I disputed the amount and the quality/completion of the work. I believe this situation was unfair because the job was originally quoted at $250, the work was not fully completed as agreed, the final invoices were higher than quoted without prior approval, and the lien created pressure on me while I was trying to sell the property. I attempted to resolve the issue, but Justin did not call me back. I have supporting documentation, including messages, invoices, pictures, and videos. I am willing to provide those documents to the Better Business Bureau, Thumbtack, or any other appropriate party reviewing this complaint. I am requesting reimbursement/compensation in the amount of $579, which is the amount I had to pay in order to resolve the lien issue and proceed with the sale of my home.
