All the reviews listed are for Planet Beach...? The business was bought out and moved a couple years ago. SunFusion is an all new facility- very clean, friendly staff, the beds are actually maintenanced regularly and bulbs are kept fresh! The new management actually care about the clients and finally have all the bullshit straightened out. Previously, my friends and I each had a membership and were constantly given the run around about why we were all paying a different rate and had different 'perks'. read more

Beds are old, have cracks in the glass and always have numerous bulbs out. Management evasive when confronted about any problem.

The owner Sara is very friendly and welcoming and gave my husband and I a tour of the spa before our services. Very clean and up to par! We came in for a spa day and left feeling very relaxed and rejuvenated! I really enjoy the red light therapy and the hydration! Really helps with my skin! I liked the services I got a lot overall- the hydration thing was super warm and a little uncomfortable, but I could see it being effective! The Mystic Tan was also just what I was looking for. Overall I liked the atmosphere here- I wish the lighting was a little less dim but otherwise it was great. My biggest complaint and the most frustrating thing was that I was sent a "free service" coupon and it didn't apply to the one service I really wanted- a spray tan. I was offered half off, but with the "cartridge" (which is ridiculous to sell and price separately as you can't tan without one...) it was still over $30! This is more than I've ever paid for a tan at SunTan City. My recommendation? If you want to try unique and novelty services, come here, but for basic tanning stick to SunTan City. Their VersaSpa system has better reviews across the board than mystic tan, and is cheaper as well. read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I absolutely would. I signed up and then about a month and a half later, wound up moving across the country, courtesy of the US Army. I went in, SHOWED them orders and they stated they would cancel my account. This was in July. I didn't see a charge for August so I assumed they had done just that. All of the sudden I have two charges in September. TWO. That's $140 total. I called and spoke with Sarah, the owner, and she told me that I had to send her the orders and she would fix it. I sent her the orders. I didn't see a charge for October, so once again, I assumed that my account with them was properlyi cancelled. Imagine my surprise when I see a charge for November AND December for $70 each. I am now having to deal with disputing these charges via my bank, in addition to closing my bank account and getting a new debit card, all because they can't get their shit together and make good on their word. I will NEVER use another Planet Beach location again, which is a shame because aside from the owners, this location was great. read more

Wife of disabled vet. I listened to Sara Rauch dismiss everything my husband explained when we called to give them a chance to refund our money. She actually remembered him coming in to cancel the membership when we moved to Ohio but she cannot find it. That is not our fault. She actually tried to say it wasn't March that we cancelled and left. We have our plane ticket receipts. The important thing to realize is that Planet Beach is forcing debits on an debit card account that is closed and they are unauthorized! I suggest that you think about how you talk to men as their wives are listening. I felt that instead of flirting, you should have been actively listening and took responsibility for not doing your job. I hope this saves all who search for for Planet Beach in Manhattan Kansas from being taken advantage of. RUN AWAY and give your business to a company that is worth it. read more

Being a out of state college student I was nervous having to find a new place to tan. But, four years later I am glad I picked planet beach! Sara and the staff have been nothing but helpful while at planet beach! I will be sad to leave in May! As for the facilities, they are amazing! Always clean and well put together! I love the multiple level beds that they offer! But what is really the cats meow is the HydroMassage!!!! I have no words other than phenomenal!! read more

FREE DAY AT THE SPA REVIEW! This is a review of my full "day" at the spa with the services I received I went to planet spa today because I was offered a "free day at the spa". First off the spa day was not free. I was only told when I was getting the required accessories to use the services with that it would cost some money. I chose to use the oxygen bar with the osaki massage chair and to use the infrared sauna. I was only aloud to choose two services they offered when I use the free spa day. Which within these services you have to buy items to use them such as the individual nose piece that attaches to the oxygen therapy machine and I had to buy a sauna suit to use the sauna. This costed me $15.21. My girlfiriend got the same massage as me and sauna treatment with a facial. She had to pay $35 for those services. Before I continue I have allergy issues and a shoulder problem from an accident I was in. When I was using the oxygen bar I had to remove the tube about 5 minutes into the session because it started causing me discomfort and my nose started plugging up. On the other hand others without allergy problems would enjoy this. Before I did any of this I had to fill out a form describing any medical problems and allergy issues. When the attendant was setting up the chair for me I wasn't asked if I had any problem areas where I was getting the massage. But we picked the least intense massage which I presumed wouldn't hurt my shoulder because she had nothing to say about it. When I was in the chair I loved the massage everywhere but my shoulder that I had hurt previously. My shoulder was in more pain after the massage. I think it would be more enjoyable if I hadn't had an injury. Then I went into the sauna for the pain relief service. Which I was required to wear a sauna suit for the IR sauna when putting it on it only came up to mid pectoral level on me. So i told the attendant Sarah I believe her name was. And she told me just to cut out the feet. Instead I just ripped them out for quickness. I stayed in there for about 15ish minutes out of the 30 that was determined to be the regular time. As the temperature was high constantly around 125-130 degrees fahrenheit with very little moisture in there it became a little hard to breathe and my heart rate went up and made it very uncomfortable. This all took about 45 minutes to complete and that is if I was in the sauna for the prescribed time. I would not consider 45 minutes to be a day at the spa. I would recommend if you want to go for a "free day at the spa" make sure you ask what fees are incurred with these services. read more

This place is amazing! I was visiting from out of town and loved it so much I came two days in a row. I only wish I had discovered it the day I arrived, I would have been here every day. They have a variety of services, I especially loved the massage chair with oxygen therapy and the full body hydration treatment. Their pricing is very reasonable, and the staff members are all very knowledgeable and welcoming. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town! read more

I've had a previous package w/ the full amenities but recently I needed to downgrade. Eventhough I had a change in services the ladies were very patient in ensuring I was able to get another membership/service that fit into my current needs. They have always remained professional & courteous. With my previous membership, I loved the hydration station & the sauna w/ my Pure Sweat. Which you can use during your workouts underneath your clothing & it was a go to TOOL for a military friend ~ worked wonders! Now, it's all about the tan. I used the High Intensity which gave me that start if I haven't tanned in awhile but now, it's between hitting up the standup 1/week & going between the VIP & Platinum to keep my color. My fave right now is Pretty Reckless & the lotion extender, Girlfriend Sexy, used for after tanning/showers which leaves you smelling awesome ~ today I snatched up Famous Face by California Tan & Tiara by Australian Gold & both these products left my skin feeling baby soft :) Love the services & ladies! It's meeting my current needs & i can't complain :) read more

Please don't waste your money with a membership here. It seems like a good deal with the amount of services you get for the money, but the services are lackluster and you'll spend a fortune buying all of the products needed for them. The cancellation policy is awful. We were leery at the length of the contract when we signed up and told them that we may not be around for that long. The employee ensured us that canceling wouldn't be a problem if it was because of military orders...$120 later - we've learned our lesson. I went here to get a spray tan and found that the prices were honestly way too high it I was in a hurry so I figured I would spare the cash to save time. I mentioned I was in a slight hurry upon entering the salon (in a polite manner), but the woman who was supposed help me and get me to the booth disregarded this fact and chatted away with a customer who had come in later than me anyway. The service was very sub-par and over priced. I wouldn't recommend coming here. read more

The membership policies seemed to be designed to entrap customers. I complied with the four month time period before cancelling, in month four (November) I called to notify the business that I would be giving notice. I was told I had to come in person to cancel. I came in person, but was then told I could only cancel in person with Sarah. This was the week before Thanksgiving, and I had company in town for ten days and couldn't make it in when she was there. Fast forward to December, work travel prevented me from coming in early in the month, I came in on the 22nd and was told that Sarah was off until the 26th. I was then told that I had to cancel by the 23rd or be charged for another month (keep in mind they had the written notes of my phone call and previous visits since November trying to cancel.) I asked how I could do that whenSarah wasn't there until the 26th and I could only cancel with her. Needless to say, I was at the door at opening at 10am on the 26th, but Sarah would not honor the fact that I had come in before the 23rd. And I was just charged another month today. I will never set foot in that business and will share my experience - this is a small town, and regardless of "corporate policy" (referencing other defensive responses from Sarah to unhappy customer reviews) even franchise owners should remember the value of treating customers in good faith. You may lose $50 but a lot of good will could be gained. read more

I was offered through my job a complimentary service . My coworker told me that the service was completely free and the girl who took care of her was friendly and professional . I was super excited , however my experience was completely different . Since the service was complimentary I didn't come prepared to spend anything. When I got there , Sarah the owner helped me out , she showed me all of the services and then told me I could have two free services , once I chose those services she told me there would be an extra cost for the product, I told her I didn't come with much money because the paper said complimentary. She said "sweet Jesus" and then told me the service I could get which was actually complimentary. Then she showed me some skin products , and instead of asking if I was interested she said "which one are you buying today"? She was forceful the whole experience. After 30 minutes of waiting , another lady (more professional) took me back to a room, got everything hooked up and started my massage chair. I couldn't even relax because Sarah had an attitude , and it just completely killed the atmosphere. Will never go back to planet beach again and would not recommend it to anyone. read more

DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot stress this enough! Back in August 2012, I signed a 2-year contract with this Planet Beach location and for two years I absolutely loved it. Going there was always the highlight of my week. I took advantage of everything they offered even if it meant paying extra - from UV tanning, to mystic spray tans, to buying moisturizers and facials. The membership ended in August 2014 (which worked out great because I knew this is when I would be graduating from K-State and moving to New York). About a month ago, I received a document in the mail from a COLLECTIONS AGENCY claiming that I owed Planet Beach $470!! WHAT A JOKE?!? The note stated that they had tried to contact me and failed (this is the first I had heard of it) and also said that I owe Planet Beach the money because "they offered their services to me in good faith and I didn't pay for them". Lol what? I don't even live in the state anymore how could I have been using their services? I have never been more disappointed and disgusted with a company in my life. The employees and owner all knew me and were super nice to me whenever I came in...and then she had the nerve to send me to collections. I now have a derogatory mark on my credit report and will have to work toward rebuilding my good credit score. It's so exciting that on top of trying to establish my career I also get to spend my first year out of college worrying about repairing a bad mark on my credit report all because of a tanning package. I will NOT ever be back to this place and I have made sure that my friends in Manhattan who used Planet Beach also cease to do so. read more
