Hugely disappointed. Never again. Why rent prime spot in the Old Town Plaza and then decide to serve terrible food--and overprice it on top of that? The menu is very limited, and the drinks are extremely expensive. We ordered a double frozen margarita in a tall yard cup for $24 and loaded chicken nachos for $20. The poor employee serving us seemed to be doing everything herself--ringing us up, making the drinks, and apparently even preparing the nachos. And it showed. The nachos were basically thrown onto a plate with some corn, pico de gallo, crumbled cheese, a splash of sour cream, and a few frozen chicken pieces rolled up and microwaved. I'm giving 1 star only for the nice outdoor air-conditioned seating. But unfortunately extremely disappointing. read more

Our waiter/bartender was very nice, friendly, and welcoming. The location is great - right on the main road of Old Town with opened air space all around . Plenty of seating and a dance floor for out and about fun, I believe, later in the day. My fried shrimp was good but I was hoping for spicier since they are jalapeños stuffed shrimp but I am sure that's a personal preference. My sister and cousin ordered hamburgers but after a bit of time were told they were out of burgers. So they switched to a meat lovers flat bread pizza and a sweet and spicy chicken wrap. I'm a fan of freestyle music. Also known as Latin freestyle or Gino beats, it was soundtrack of my younger years as well as that of a lot of folks who grew up in New York, Philadelphia and LA. Since more than a few sunsets have passed between the late 80s and now it is essentially my generation's classical music. So when I heard about a show in Kissimmee, I was ready to hit the road in my midlife crisis, red sports car with a good friend. Sun on the Beach is located in Old Town Kissimmee, close to a bunch of hotels, restaurants, and of course, other entertainment venues. There is some parking, but I left my car in the hotel and we Ubered over. The space itself looks like an industrial warehouse that was converted to a nightclub with lots of open space, kind of like classic Wynwood. Judy Torres' performance was 6/5, no doubt! Her singing took me back to the all ages parties in the late 80/s & early 90/s, to borrowing my parents' Cutlass Cierra and going with my then girlfriend to sit behind the airport and watch the planes #iykyk. She dances with great moves as if our generation never aged. Before her act, we sat through two hours, more or less of a warm-up DJ act that was all sorts of mix from freestyle to Bachata to Reggaeton. The other warm-up act was Sammy EXO, who sang a few tracks. Besides the long warm-up act and wait between the headline performance, my friend and I waited in crowded bar that could've used another bartender to get a couple of sweet watered down drinks. I know we're adults and extensively have a little better tolerance but come on you want to feel a little bit of a buzz. Besides that after driving three hours from Miami, we might have been a little tired :) I had to ask around to get at least one chair so we could get to recharge a bit. The only seating was in the VIP area. Admittedly, I know yeah VIP but maybe having some lounge areas or some seats at the bar would make it a little more comfortable. Another complaint is that there is no in and out like with a wristband. Heck we couldn't even go to their outside bar. Although it has the same name and was in the same property, we couldn't go to the other bar for a change of scene or just to get a break from the long warmup act. read more

Worst experience of my life i wish i could put zero stars. I came in to get one shot that was $18 which was not told to me till i was paying, the bartender is a old lady with a button up shirt she was so rude and said "I know you guys are young but if you don't tip bartenders make you terrible drinks before we even paid and handed us the Green Tea shot and kept going on about it without us even continuing a conversation then when we paid she kept talking bad on us and i was going to tip in cash but the second she started being rude i didn't give her anything. I came in March 1st around 8:40-9pm . Please say something to her because its disrespectful to ask for a tip when i haven't even paid my bill yet which is why i didn't give her tip after she kept talking bad to me. read more

My friends and I came to Orlando for a weekend vacation and came here on a whim Friday night. The place was decently filled but the dance floor was pretty dead with the exception of a few people holding down the fort. My friend bought a frozen cocktail which was yummy and I bought a Sex on the Beach which was also very good. The drag show on Tuesdays is amazing! The girls are always beautiful and entertaining (and sweet!). They do two shows a night with a fun interlude. Afterwards, we arrived and they did not allow us to enter since there was a dress code and the club was hosting a private event. No one was allowed. So, we drove and we're not allowed to enter. It was kid afternoon when I first arrived and the bar not not busy at all. I ordered a pinata colada and I give it a 3/5. It was ok, not the best but not the worse. The bartender checked up ok n me every now and then and even watched my drink when I went to the restroom. The restroom was not in a great state. Two stalls didn't have working locks and I didn't see any hooks. I continued to nurse my pina colada and enjoy the the scene. At some point I got hungry so I ordered the chicken fingers. They arrived at a decent time and they were hot. They came alone, no fries. I thought I was going to still be hungry with 4 or 5 chicken fingers but they were pretty thick and I had a hard time finishing them. The drink prices are a bit high, and the dance bar set-up is a bit tacky. Still, on a good summer day, it's not too bad to stop by.

My wife and I were exploring Old Town when we decided to have lunch. It was around 1:00 PM, and we spotted Sun on the Beach. It looked like the type of place we typically like (kind of ratty, beach vibe). When we sat down, only one person was working, the bartender. We asked for food menus, and she got a weird look on her face, and said: "be right back." She was gone for 10 minutes or so and finally came back with menus stating, "I had to check to see if the cook was here." She then went on to tell us that she was the first person on shift that day, but didn't have a key to open the bar. All of the managers were either busy or ignoring their phones. No other employees that were supposed to be there that morning had shown up. The cook was three hours late. She ended up having to drive to the school of one of the managers (who was in a class) to get a key to open the bar. First, what the hell? Why isn't the staff showing up when they're supposed to be there? Second, what the hell? Why was this bartender telling me all the drama? Third, what the hell? Why did the cook look stoned and hungover? Oh, because he was. That also came out in the story. There was a party the night before, and the cook got hammered and missed the first three hours of his shift. We ordered food. My wife got some chicken tacos, and I ordered a burger. Fries were extra. The food arrived, and while my wife's tacos looked ok, my burger sucked. They were out of ketchup, so it was slathered with mustard. They had no other sauces (BBQ, mayo, whatever) except for hot sauce. So I ate unsalted soggy fries without any ketchup. Looking back, we should have left. We really should have. As other customers came in, the bartender had to explain that 75% of the kegs were empty and they were out of stock on most of their bottles as well. The ONLY reason this place gets two stars is that even though the bartender was telling us all the drama, she was incredibly attentive to us and was trying to make the most of a bad situation. She still had a positive attitude and was willing to stick it out. read more

I ordered a Long Island and the Lady ordered a ... I forgot I was drinking oops. We noticed they had a stage and a dance floor (which we saw in action the next night). A second barmaid made our second round and the difference was AWESOME!!!! of course I ordered a beer to close it out. Service was great it rained but it was all good anyway. read more

Staff here wasn't friendly at all. We ordered a round of drinks, which were strong and tasted fine. We tried ordering food, but we were given a blank stare and said there was a waitresses change taking place. She was still there for about 20 minutes after that, so I'm not sure what she meant. We did not eat here. We sat there for about 10 minutes waiting for our bill after we told the waitress we were all set. When getting up, she said "you're going to pay your bill, right?" Maybe a better club scene at night, but not a good visit during the day. read more

Would not recommend! Came here last weekend for a night out at Old Town and had one of the worst bar experiences of my life. The drinks are over priced, prices fluctuated for the SAME EXACT drink when I went to different bartenders, the bartenders had no clue what they were doing so wait times were terrible, the bathrooms were an absolute MESS, AND my overpriced shots tasted completely watered down. I usually do not do Yelp reviews but it was so bad I had to create an account to tell others to avoid this place if you can! Not worth your time or money. I also saw a bartender marry a bottle which, if this company didn't know, is completely illegal. At least do your crimes behind closed doors people!!! read more

Amazing change in staff, since the last time I was there. Last night I got to meet the New General Manager ANGELA !, she was busting her butt cleaning helping her staff and she went to dance a song with the guest. How fun is that! The place looks better and cleaner, and everyone seemed happy. Angela made her rounds to each bar. It was great to see smiling faces. I love this new change. I will be back to visit more often now . This is a great 5 star (dive bar) in a tourist town. I use DIVE bar with affection and love... this bar makes you feel like a local. The drinks are priced right and poured well. Paul is like a long lost friend and Poindexter will forget what you're drinking but make it perfectly each and every time. Went there ladt night and had gator bites and chicken fingers. They were over cooked and chewy. Above all I had to use the mens room. I wasnt allowed to go because they turn half of the restaurant into a makeshift nightclub. They had a security guard searching people even if you had too PEE otherwise you ( A PAYING CUSTOMER) are directed to go across the street to the public bathroom. There setup is not secure at all.
