Well this is the only Sun Outdoors I have ever been at and I will tell you it is not worth the money you have to pay. For some reason they are so short on staff they can't even keep the kitchen or bar open. The menu is overpriced and nothing but appetizers food other than chicken tenders, a shrimp basket and pizza. The hot tub did not work properly. The jets sprayed up not on your body at all..... I mean really! Trash in the pool and overflowing trash cans due to short staff. I had rather pay my money at a condo and go out to eat! read more

Our experience at Sun Outdoors Orange Beach was very disappointing. The campground felt plain and boring, especially considering the price. It seemed like there were so many unnecessary rules that it took the fun out of the experience. One of the biggest disappointments was the atmosphere. It felt like kids couldn't just be kids without someone expecting them to be perfectly quiet or worrying about breaking a rule. Instead of feeling like a fun family campground, it felt overly strict and lacking the welcoming, relaxed environment we were hoping for. If you're looking for a place where families can let their kids have fun and make memories, this may not be the best choice. It seems more geared toward people who want a very quiet, heavily regulated resort rather than an active, family-friendly campground. Unfortunately, we left feeling like the focus was more on enforcing rules than creating an enjoyable experience for families. We won't be returning. read more

Brace yourself - this one is gonna be long! We came for two nights while attending a concert at the wharf, which is located conveniently across the street, but somehow you feel like you're miles from everything (what is that sorcery?) and ended up wanting to sell all of my belongings, quit my job, and move here. I didn't want to go home, and that's the first time that's happened. This campground is BY FAR the best campground I've ever stayed at. Period. They have thought of everything, and I do mean everything. The sites are spacious, you're not on top of each other. You can rent golf carts and e-bikes, or bring your own. They have nature trails, a trail that connects to gulf state park, and several big fenced-in areas big enough for dogs to actually run around and burn energy, unlike other dog parks that just have a small rectangle. Their dog parks also have at least one tree each for shade, as well as a stainless steel built-in water fountain at ground level for the dogs! There's even a dog washing station so you can bathe your furry friends after a day of playing hard! There is a fitness center, a clubhouse for activities that also has two massage chairs with bookshelves, three separate pools (one is for adults only, age 19+.) The main amenities pool is at the very back of the campground and has a full restaurant that serves all three meals a day, as well as a pool bar that has a large assortment of beer, liquor, and frozen drinks. We got a margarita flight for $22 for 4 full-sized drinks, and they were GOOD! You can't take your own drinks or food to the main pool (with a bar and restaurant, why would you want to?) but you can take them to the adult pool and the pool at the welcome center, which also has a big hot tub and a view of the big lake where you can actually go fishing. There are fire pits, rocking chairs, and other comfy seating options at the pools. There is a large splash pad at the main amenities pool, a shaded cornhole area, sand volleyball, basketball courts, pickleball courts, an arcade, a big playground, and daily scheduled activities. If you're bored here, you're living wrong. You can check into this campground and never have to leave for anything. If you forgot something, just check the general store that's right there by the restaurant and arcade. They have it all! I've never been sad to go back home at the end of a trip, but I was this time. I was seriously trying to figure out how I could go home and sell our house and everything in it, quit our jobs, and just come live here. My kids (11 & 15) are going to love this place! read more

It was 12 JUL 2021, and we were looking forward to our fourth RV trip in four months. We liked the Orange Beach, Alabama area, as we wanted to take our son to OWA. Based on the online reviews, we chose Pandion Ridge RV Park (now called Sun Outdoors Orange Beach). Back in 2021, Pandion Ridge had 142 all back-in sites. As soon as we entered into the Resort, it was apparent that Pandion Ridge had some of the neatest, most manicured landscaping I've ever seen. It's "Country Club" material. Although all the spots were back-in sites, and I consider myself a novice tower, especially backing in, there was enough room between sites to back in fairly easily. Since we had our son, we could not partake of the adult pool, but we did enjoy the main pool (now called pool area 1). We loved the proximity to the beach, The Wharf and Gulf State Park, and had a great time here. Fast forward to JUL 2023 and Sun Outdoors Orange Beach just added over 330 luxury RV sites bringing the total to almost 500 luxury back-in sites. The new expansion caters to all types of campers including snowbirds, short & long-term campers and families. There is now a second pool, splashpad, rental bikes, rental golf carts, on site laundry, propane filling, arcade, dog wash, fitness center and multiple outdoor recreation activities. They are " also the only privately owned resort with direct access to Gulf State Park, which is offering bike rental add-ons for a fee". Looking forward to a return trip. read more

We come here several times a year. We usually come when we are going to a concert across the street at wharf. We have watched it go from a campground to a resort in the past couple years. There is now 3 pools, restaurants and bar, coffee shop, arcade, playgrounds, pickle ball, volleyball,basketball courts and lots more. We love this park because you have access to State Park to walk or ride the trails. The sites are all concrete pads they have chairs, gas fire pits, and a picnic table. Full hookups. The amenities are amazing for bathroom. You have your own private room with toilet and shower. We love it and will return. read more

This review is about the Black Friday "sale". It is not a sale! I checked before the "sale" was announced and a 4 night stay in April was $448.85 and now with the 25BLKFRIDAY code the same nights are $460.01. What a joke! This practice is most commonly called a "fake sale," "deceptive pricing," or "high-low pricing". Buyer beware. I'll hold back and after the sale iff the prices drop again I may reconsider. But not real enthused about patronizing a business that uses this tactic. read more

Let me be clear, this review is for the Valentines Day Dinner, NOT the entire RV Park. The experience was terrible and I would not recommend. Cost was $75 for two people, before gratuities. We signed up at the office. There was no printed description. The gentleman at the front desk took time to hand write the menu. He wrote Ribeye Steak or Salmon for the entree. We then got a phone message from a nice woman asking which entree we would prefer. We tried calling the office, and we left messages, nobody returned our call, so we went back to the office. At that point, the entree was prime rib, but they had no clue about the salmon. We went to the grill and asked whether it would be prime rib or ribeye. The woman at the grill said it was definitely ribeye steak and the salmon was wild caught. She said she checked the boxes in the kitchen. We then went back to the office and said we would go with the ribeye steak, but by then, it didn't appear to matter. So today we arrive at the grill, all excited for our lovely Valentine's dinner. We knew we were in trouble when the waitress said she doesn't normally work in the grill, and she didn't know what the menu included. Oh oh. She found out what drinks were included. Then she brought out the appetizer which included a dipping sauce with no napkins, plates or silverware. I went to the bar and returned to our table with napkins. She came to take our order ( by now are you wondering what beef cut was being served?). Turns out... drum roll... it was prime rib not ribeye steak. My husband ordered medium and I ordered medium rare. The waitress spent a long time talking to someone at another table, just chatting. Our meals were up on the bar. She eventually took hold of the plates, and there must have been some confusion, because she was just standing with the plates in hand. She sorted out the meals and brought a medium and well done to our table. I sent the well done back and asked for medium rare again. I assumed it was being carved in back, but I was wrong. So my husband ate his meal. Mine finally came out after he had finished. Nothing worse, right? There was nothing good about the meal. The meat was like pink shoe leather. Worst prime rib ever. Worst steak ever. Worst whatever ever. Were the mashed potatoes and broccoli left on the plate while the second piece of meat was being cooked? I don't know but the mashed potatoes (which were like cream of potato soup) were cool. The broccoli was that olive-colored green, not bright and green and crisp. Again, like mush. It was so bad. I'm a good eater, and I could not put a dent in it. The cheesecake was fine, must have been store bought, but it was brought without clean silverware. Whatever. There were two good things about the dinner besides the cheesecake. The pianist was great. And the horseradish was fresh not a cream sauce (nothing to put it on but it's the thought that counts). The bill arrived but the waitress only brought out a single copy. We asked for a second copy and the woman who has to make the copy said she would do it just as soon as she started and finished an ice cream order for five or six people. Oh my oh my oh my!! For a campground as nice as this one, I expected better... a lot better. And a lot of apologies and thanks for our patience from the waitress, but no offer was made to reduce the price of the meal. For the price, we could have had a very lovely meal in town. read more

Don't think of this as a campground... It's a resort. I've never experienced a place that is maintained so well. Perfect place to stay while in Orange Beach. I definitely recommend bringing your electric bikes or scooters. The Gulf State Park trails are accessible from the resort. It's actually possible to get to the beaches through the trails (recommend your e-bikes or scooters). This is one question we had before arriving. It is very kid friendly. The pool and splash areas are great. Can't wait to come back. read more

Excellent RV park. This is a place that will rank in the top few percentage points of all parks. It's superbly maintained. Every square foot is cared for. Even the grass at the edges of the pond is well groomed. The pads are absolutely flat concrete. They are wide with plenty of room for a large RV as well as a trailer and car. Many people also have room for a boat. There is a very nice pool and hot tub as well as a club house with a number of planned activities... the laundry is well done with well maintained new looking washers and dryers. Lots of open space between pads so you won't feel cramped. The staff is friendly. The guests here seem to be nicer than anywhere we have stayed. The only thing that I can find to complain about is that there is just one trash drop area on the road out of the place. Obviously the other side of that is there are not trash cans all around the park. Beautiful place. Good location... definitely recommended. read more

Excellent RV resort. Very nicely maintained. Spacious lots with all hookups including sewer right there and curbside trash puck up every morning. Beautiful pool which the pics dont do justice, awesome hot tub overlooking the lake which has paddle Boats and kayaks. Large gas fire pit , 4 poolside gas grills, daily bike rentals with tons of trails! Great workout room and spotless restrooms! Less than 10 minutes to the beach !! The staff is super friendly and very helpful with getting you on track to local events and dining. Our first trip here and our definite go to spot when camping camping in Orange beach ! read more

This is what I posted.... So 100% change in our review. The location and sites are phenomenal. This was never in question. We were here when this site was being built back 5 or so years ago and were impressed with the thought and planning that went into Pandion Ridge. However, we have about 3 criteria that anywhere we stay have to meet. We called multiple times and spoke to multiple people to confirm that all our criteria were met. Upon arrival yesterday, we received documentation that reversed what we were told and what the website stated. Needless to say I was livid. Turns out that pnced we spoke to someone in charge, they corrected the situation. We will 100% return and bring our friends with us. Now this does not change the fact that all but one of the people we have dealt with are complete jerks. But it only takes one I guess. I would sincerely suggest employing peoe that understand that WE pay for their salaries, not vice versa. read more

The manager Lynne is super rude. They closed the main bathroom first thing in the morning and the other bath house is all the way across the camp ground. When I went to ask when the bathroom would be open, she told me "you have 23 other hours in a day to use it we need one to clean it". This other bathroom has only one toilet for the mens side and 4 men were waiting for it, sounds like the wrong time to clean bathrooms ‍ over 150 spots and you give all those people 1 toilet that also has the handicap shower in it. Excellent Park. Beautiful grounds. Lots of shopping, restaurants and sites to see within a short distance. Spots are all concrete, level and well spaced from your neighbor. There is a state park you can walk to or rent bike in the office. There is a gym, a couple pools, pickleball court, dog park and pond to fish. There is no play area for kids. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. Staff were very friendly and so helpful. All of them were always smiling and willing to lend a hand if needed. read more

We came here for Labor Day and had a great stay. I somehow booked on lot 36 instead of 136... and didn't realize it until we were half an hour away, I called and spoke to Melony who was so helpful I was credited back my $30 lock in fee because why would I lock site 36!!? And I was able to use it in their little shop for ice and other items. By the time we arrived they had a cancellation and were able to move us closer to the pool, dog park and trail which is where we wanted to be. There are 2 pools, however with COVID they close at 7 and the adult swim pool is closed altogether. The larger pool is very nice and spacious, not too crowded. The beach is really close along with many other attractions. Make sure you have grilling items as there are no onsite grills, the only 2 I saw were in the area where the pool was closed but like most others we have our own grill. read more

If you're coming to Orange Beach/Gulf Shores and you want the best RV resort in town, this is it. The resort is super clean and well maintained. Pool, fishing pond, multiple bathhouses and a friendly staff make Pandion Ridge a hidden gem. The super fast internet and trail access to Gulf State Park sealed the deal for us. We literally road our bikes from our rig on Pandion Ridge through Gulf State Park to the beach(about 15 minutes with 3 kids). Fantastic spot. I would highly recommend Pandion Ridge. It's very well maintained and clean. It has nice RV concrete spots with grass, nice pool, clean laundry and shower facilities. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The best part is how kid friendly it is. Our kids age 6 and 8 had a blast. They have activities for them a few days a week and they loved getting to ride their bikes around and make new friends! We definitely will be back! read more

We have stay here many times in the past and have never had a problem. Today my son and family were staying and we visited for my granddaughters birthday party for only a few hours. Deborah is very rude and informed us that there is no visitor parking and made us move our vehicle to off site. I do understand that resorts must have rules, however rude employees and no Visitor parking is ridiculous! This park is very expensive, you would think that they could afford to train their employees to be professional and kind. read more

We think this is the best RV resort in the Gulf Shores area. Sites are deep and wide, staff is friendly and the park is beautiful. It is near everything including the beaches. We would give it 5 stars if they would put a size limit on dogs. They have a limit on breeds, but there was at least one dog over 200 lbs. Also, the internet needs to have more band width. read more

We highly recommend using this RV resort for the Orange Beach area. Very kind staff, esp. Melanie, who helped us with the paths, it's Pet friendly, kid friendly, and has comfortable area for adults to sit around at the fire pits, pond, or pool. The whole area is very well kept and clean. I hope that continues. The trails were great for walking/biking and they lead to the state trails. Plenty of our favorite restaurants nearby, including movie theater. Close to beach access areas. One wish would be more pads facing our RV north and not the sunny side. Hard to stay out of the sun, even with awnings out. No awning screens, yet! The trees will be a beautiful accent when they mature. We hope to be a regular! read more
