I originally came here to tint my car in 2013; all four doors and rear windshield. 2023 was the first time I had to return to replace my driver window's tint because it was bubbling and again two weeks ago to replace my rear windshield because it had melted and started to blur my view. The other three doors are still in great condition. But ten years on tints is pretty good. And on the upside, they offer a life time warranty on their tints. I got my windows tinted on my previous car two years ago at a Sunstoppers elsewhere in Charlotte. They did such a fantastic job of it that I knew I'd go back again with my new car. Before I paid around $250 for probably the basic level of tinting. This time I went sorta "all-in" and got the ceramic type which is said to reduce heat 80%. It's coming into winter now but I know that will be wonderful in the summer. I paid $350 for this one but have not one complaint. It's probably even better than last time. My car looks cool with the darkened windows. The guy who did the tinting (so sorry I don't remember his name) was very friendly and easy to talk to. I sat and connected to their WiFi and worked while he worked. It was completed in less than 2 hours. Took a bit longer because it was early in the morning and just him working and answering the phone at the same time. No complaints from me though. Great that I could get some work done too. And if you weren't trying to work, they've got a huge lounge in the back with a big TV. You could easily even take a nap here. Probably the biggest perk here is that you can rent their shop car while they work on yours in case you have some prior engagements you just can't miss. Don't even bother getting a quote anywhere else - you want this place. read more

They helped talk me through options to decide on the perfect tint, since I wasn't sure what direction to go. The group there is upbeat, pleasant, and welcoming. The tint itself is incredibly effective and looks great on my BRZ. They even took off some old decals from the previous owner for me! There was a little bubble in one of the side windows, so I took it back and asked about it. It's an imperfect process, so this is to be expected every now and then I'm sure. Fantastic Service! I went in here the other day just to take a look at the film options and ended up getting the car done on the spot! Spoke with Leah on the phone and Russell in person. Both were very friendly and patient with all my questions. Russell took his time in explaining the differences in products and said he could have my car done in about an hour. This seemed way too fast but apparently after years of experience he operates from 'muscle memory' :) They have a waiting area with some sofas but i chose to sit at the counter with my laptop, use their free wifi and watch him tint the car. Great conversation with both Leah and Russell and he was very attentive to details and even though he took his time - I was STILL out the door in an hr! They definitely know their craft and cars well - as they even covered up a factory amp in my car to avoid any overspray. Note: they have several locations, so I would highly recommend opting for the products that have the lifetime warranties - no questions asked. I just gotten my Sasha last year. She's a 2012 Mini Countryman S all black with all black interior. I realized I have to get her windows tinted.. No way I will survive the harsh summer in NC.. I had to go to Atlanta that weekend and will get it done when I get back.. And I know this was done last year but for tint Windows I wanted to wait for awhile to see if there's any problems before I write a review.. When I arrive.. I decide to get one of the best which the carbon cxp meaning it will also block out most of the sun, uv, heats etc.. And it does.. Their customer service is great. They took the time to explain to me what's the difference. Show me the different type of films and the quality of each one.. That way I can actually feel and see which is which. It's done right in the garage and since it's an open concept work space. I watched Brett the whole time as he put my tint on. He's efficient and funny. As I have done with my previous (2) Expeditions, I once again visited the S. Tryon location in Charlotte for the installation of tinting material on my most recent Expedition. As with the first 2, I received excellent treatment upon my arrival, and my vehicle was being driven inside within 5-mins. I was advised it would only take 35-40 minutes to do the work, but within 25 minutes, the guys were done, and I was on my way home. I could not have been treated better than what I experienced yesterday, and as usual the work was exactly what I wanted. Cindy, who was at the front desk was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable on the products as well as NC window tint laws. The business has plenty of seating if you choose to wait for your vehicle to get serviced. Prices are a little higher then other shops but I've learned with window tint, you get what you pay for. This was my first time ever getting the windows on a car tinted and I'm really glad I chose Sun Stoppers- Auto West! They took their time to explain the different options/ pricing they offer and were extremely patient with me thru my decision process. When it came time to install, Randy and Russell had me in and out of there in about 90 minutes or so. It would have been quicker but there was one car in front of me that they were finishing up when I arrived. They install with the old-school method here...no fancy computer cutters needed, like some of the newer, less experienced shops use. The edges are smooth and perfect and the glass is as clear as if it had been tinted at the factory. Apparently, they have over 50 years combined experience between them and the results prove it. Beautiful job, guys! I did have a minor issue with my rear window, due to what appeared to be a defect in the film, not in the installation. They got me right in and had the film replaced in well under an hour. Awesome customer service, good prices and great products and installation services. Sidney, the store manager was the worst, she was rude as hell over the phone , when I arrived she walked outside and proceeded with a smirky "sorry I missed you when you got it tinted" she looked at my car and was like well this is normal to have these small specs in a group, my mind is blown how she blew off the quality of tint then proceeded to say you can't ever get it perfect and you'll always have specs, YES this is true , but the tint had so many specs it was BAD , she kept saying how filthy my windows were and how she can't see the bubbles, yet I have a video showing how bad it was all around , she then said they can we do it 1 time only... so what happens if I get the same quality tint when you redo it? She said well we re do it if it's this bad.... the entire car was bad . They ended up refunding me and giving me my money in all 5s and 10s in cash... why the hell did I have one of the worst experiences here , I'm writing this sitting in their waiting room ,pissed off as hell on how rude she was to me . She had a snarky attitude up until the very end where it transitioned to a fake customer service voice . She repeated to me those bubbles are normal and I won't get better anywhere else , that's not true as I look at many s550 mustang car tints that do not look that bad . Your only defense is you offered to redo it 1 time for me . The female manager was so rude I just wanted to get out of there ,she made me feel horrible and like she was talking down on me about how my expectations are too high and no one will be able to do better , her snarky attitude and word choice Is why I chose to take my money back . I bought a used 2011 MB SL550, but was later told the tint was likely too dark to pass inspection in NC. I stopped by Sun Stoppers West last Saturday to have them check the car and to learn about my options. Russell greeted me and from inside the shop could tell me it was too dark, then confirmed with the meter, and pointed out another car that had the legal tint for comparison so I understood the change coming.
