Arrival and departures took place on the lower level along with a restaurant, lottery ticket booth and relatively clean bathrooms. Taxis and uber rides were caught outside the upper level. Ticket counters were here as well and always had long lines. Booking online was so much better and if you created a with ALSA they also provided a discount on the fares. Buses pulled in and out of the bays on the lower level and the schedule board was handy to figure out which one had our departing bus. Arrival from Malaga airport was ahead of schedule but our bus to Cordoba was delayed by half an hour. Unfortunately the schedule board dropped the destination once the original departure has passed even if delayed. Overall convenient and inexpensive option for heading to other parts of Andalusia and Spain.

It is located next to the bus station, 20 minutes by car from the Alhambra, less than 2 kilometres from the Plaza de Toros (bull ring) and 3 kilometres from the city centre. Before we left, the lady at the front desk went over the map with us in great detail, pointing things out, showing us where to catch the bus, and so on. She also showed us to the 'living room' on the fifth floor, which has some couches, tables and magazines. But the highlight is the patio, which has a view over the city facing the Alhambra. There are also a few tables and chairs outside, so it would be a great place to read or catch up on writing in your travel journal, or just to relax. Our room was big, our bed was big, and our bathroom was big. We both had a good sleep that night. We paid in advance when we booked and got 15% off the room. We had to leave early in the morning before breakfast started, but they do offer it for 6,95 EUR per person. Like I said, we were only in Granada for one night, but the location seemed great and quite it would be quite easy to get anywhere you wanted to, or there is lots to do in that area as well. The reception staff also ordered a cab for us in the evening to take us to the airport the next morning. The only negative about that was, as she was telling us our options, she said the aiport bus took 45 minutes, and a cab also took 45 minutes. In reality the cab only took 15 minutes, so we could have gotten that little bit of extra sleep in the morning!

A parador is a luxurious hotel located within a historic site. We spent two nights at this Parador…read morehotel located within the grounds of the Alhambra. The hotel's interior is very unique - it has both Arabic and Christian influence. The exterior is an oasis of beautiful plants and flowers. Our room on the second floor offers a breathtaking view of the gardens of the Generalife (see photos below). The room is pretty contemporary with an updated bathroom. Breakfast buffet offers many choices, although not everything is good. The terrace has gorgeous view of the Generalife, but be warned that there are tons of bees and birds. Service is so so at best. The front staff do an adequate job, but they don't go above and beyond. The location is at the Alhambra perched on the hill, therefore it's not as convenient for dinning out. We got a taxi every time we went out for lunch or dinner. If you prefer being in the city center close to many dinning and drinking options, this is not for you. If you want a unique hotel located within a historic site, consider this hotel!
