I explained that I was trying to reach my child, but she continued to focus on the "no running" rule rather than the fact that a young child was having difficulty in the water. That response was unacceptable. In an emergency, a lifeguard's first priority should be recognizing and responding to a potential drowning situation--not criticizing a parent trying to protect their child. This experience left me with serious concerns about the judgment and training of the lifeguard staff. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides additional training so their team can better identify and respond to real emergencies before someone is seriously hurt.

I am an experienced fly fishermen but my father in law had never swung a fly in his life. The first place we went was Silver Creek which was lights out. I caught a tagged brown trout on the first cast (bucket lister) and probably staged 6-8 more fish. Silver Creek is a very technical fishery, but my father in law still managed to pull out 3-4 fish that morning. After that Erik took us to another stream, I cant remember the name, where we proceeded to catch at least 20 more fish between us. My father in law went from not expecting to catch anything, to having an absolute lights out day and I attribute it all to the patience and instruction of our guide Erik. I will 100% be booking him again!

Got on the bike and my friends laughed and said a 6 foot tall woman should not have been fitted w a small size bike. Luckily my daughter is 5' 6" so she could ride it and I just jacked her seat up to the max. He was patient and thorough when guiding us through firearm safety and the particulars of each long rifle. Being left-handed, I really appreciated his attentiveness so that I could get as much out of the lesson as the two righties. If it wasn't for lunchtime hunger pangs, we could've easily spent all day with Jeff (and he offered). Jeff is a genuinely adaptable and thoughtful instructor, who clearly enjoys sharing his passion for firearms. We started off with a safety lesson, progressed to shooting some 22 rifles at targets, before moving to other 22's and finally an AK-47. To top it off, Jeff let us try shooting a suppressed 22 pistol even though we didn't pay for that service, which was quite fun since this isn't allowed in our home state. Of course, shooting at targets is exciting as-is, but Jeff blended the mechanics of proper marksmanship with helpful safety guidance and small competitions between the people in our group to keep things exciting. For example, we were pitted against each other to knock down some steel plates the quickest. This part was extremely fun. I believe that we all came away from Jeff's lesson with more than just a grin on our faces: we all feel more confident shooting, and more confident shooting safely. I recommend Jeff's services to anyone in the Sun Valley/Hailey area who would like to improve their skills with a firearm in a safe and enjoyable manner. He is a true professional.
