I can absolutely buy most of the items brand new for the same price or less. I'm hesitant to write a review but I am unable to give them feedback on their Facebook page and feel they need to hear from typical shoppers that they are pricing out a great percentage of their potential patrons. I do know they have sales for specific color tags, but those are very few and far between. Even then, a 50 or 75% off price is what the item should have originally been marked for.

This is always a great thrift store to visit with a wide array of items from crockery to art, and…read moreclothes to collectibles. Each item is priced using a color coded tag. Depending on the month, there will be an additional sale on the color of the tag. The store is clean, well laid out, and staff are always polite and helpful. They get in new items regularly and you never know what you will find. Proceeds from the sales go to the pines rehabilitation center.

The staff at the smaller place across the street was super nice, more people working in the back than out front, but still helpful, more clothes than furniture there but still good prices on everything and sales posted in various places.

Every time I go there is something new (though there has also been a lot of downsizing). The store is run by a very friendly gentleman named Don who has been in the antiques business for decades. There is a particular bias towards Floridiana kitch, which I adore since I am a true Floridian gal. Lots of gator things or other vintage items you could have found at old gas stations of orange stands. Masks, kitchen wear, decorations, jewelry--they have a really unique selection of it all. They also have a pretty decent selection of vintage clothes. There were a few dresses I liked, but they were priced a bit much for me ($80 upwards, but I did see some cheaper clothes too). Other than that. Things were definitely within the affordable/inexpensive range, which is kind of an anomaly with antique stores. They won't ask a man to do that. I'm 70 years old and have trouble standing while working. I got light headed while standing there and thought I was going to pass out. The volunteer next to me said she was a nurse and I was glad that she said that. A man brought his wife's consignments in and they asked where his wife was and he said she was waiting in the car. Next time I will send in my husband and wait in the car.They don't welcome people who come into shop. I did see 2 women stocking shelves who were nice. The rest of the volunteers just want you to get out of their way so that they can get the clothes on the racks. I've beed consigning there for several years and they still have no idea that I'm a long-term consignee. Why not come in early to price and stock. They are the rudest shop in downtown Venice.
