The amenities are nice, but the neighborhood is a little rough. One time a group of kids who called…read morethemselves the "Countryside Crips" did a drive-by on their bikes on my house with a super soaker. They did it on a cool day so it was clear they were making a statement. They didn't have a gang color, but they had a gang pattern: paisley. I still tense up whenever I see a middle class white kid wearing paisley. I always have this fear that I will end up inconveniently damp for a short period of time. I live in terror of this to this day. The pool is great, though.

This is a really great benefit of being a member of the CCCA home owners association! They have a…read morehuge park/play area with play structures for younger kids and for older kids. They also have softball/soccer fields, volleyball court, horseshoe pits, tennis courts, a gym, and much more!!! The equipment is a little dated (particularly in the gym, which is totally no frills), but it gets the job done. And they have tons of equipment that you can rent for free! I've taken my toddlers down to the grassy area and let them run around kicking the soccer ball and they have a blast! We haven't been to the pool yet (just moved in this past November so haven't been here for summer yet), but I've heard that it's really nice, and I know they offer swim lessons there, too. They get 4 stars since some of the equipment could really use an upgrade (again -particularly in the gym), but for everything you get, I feel like the association dues are very fair and reasonable. So many amenities!!!

Love coming here for community events! The Dunbar holds a great significance to the black Tucson…read morecommunity as it was Tucson's segregated school for African American students until desegregation in 1951, and I'm glad to see that it's being preserved and utilized to uplift the community in the current day. There's multiple events held here monthly, including The Slide Society's line dance classes on Thursday nights at 6PM, which I really enjoy! In addition to this, there's also the barbershop and school that lives here, a healthy food prep restaurant I think, various community classes, and even the "Connections That Count" events that take place at 5 PM every first Wednesday that target, various themes and aim to build a better community (ABC) through fellowship and networking. There's really so many great things to say about the Dunbar and community events that occur here! Definitely worth checking out.

What makes this place special is its history. Do yourself a favor, go to their website, and read…read morethe About section. I'd be doing it a disservice by trying to summarize it. Currently it serves as a community center, a school, a barber academy, and it rents space out to artists and dancers and educators and even a publishing house! They have some great community programs and I was there for the Free Vegan Cooking class. The speaker, I believe her name is Rosie Kennedy, was great; equal parts knowledgeable and warm and engaging. She broke down a topic that can be daunting and demo'd a couple of recipes. Highly recommend signing up for any of her future programs if they (hopefully!!) have them. The space itself is not great for a cooking lecture because it's not a kitchen. The speaker did an amazing job, especially with all the constraints but she could have really benefitted from a more functional set-up. The room feels like its seen better days but they do have this super cool canvas wrapped around 2 of the walls that documents the history of the local African American community and the Dunbar. All in all I really appreciate having this resource in the community and look forward to their future programs!

Okay I understand this yelp review SHOULD be for the Uptum Community Center not about personal…read moredoctors or medical service. So, my experience with the Community Center has been tops!!!! All aspects are professional, balanced, fair and equaitiable, and the most unique and outstanding item are the professional trainers and staff that conduct the group exercise sessions, they are serious and well qualified, from Circut training, tai chi, chair yoga and pilates, 3 hours long tech mondays; special nutrition and medical info sessions..the list goes on...conv spanish. the socializing games, coffee, special holiday events...all excellent. This is in Mesa and I hope to find the same calibur here in tucson, since I will now be a resident. I am looking forward to my new professional instructors and activities and less visits to the doctors!!!!!!!!

Worst service and terminal hold. I live in Tucson and have to deal with Optum Care Network-Arizona…read more I love my Doctor, James Tooley, but since moving over to Optum it has been a nightmare to get straight answers from the staff and impossible to talk with my Doctor. I was put on hold and decided to call a different number in Utah ( first was in AZ) and they answered right away, helped me for over 20 minutes and resolved my problem. When I went back to the first call, I was still on hold. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.
