And why would you leave with the nightly tequila shots at 5:30pm and swimming pools. The rooms were clean and spacious. Laundry facilities including detergent and softener. And here is the cherry on top. The staff. I had internet struggles in my room. Th staff in the morning and night helped to the best of their abilities. My stay wasn't too long and working in the beautiful lobby isn't terrible. But the initiative they showed was great. Overall, the resort is a great place to spend a weekend. It includes three outdoor pools with a…read more235-foot waterslide (the spa pool is adults only); a 27-hole championship golf course; a full-service spa with therapy baths, steam room, fitness center, and cabana rentals; hiking and biking trails with stunning views; a bocce court; and four restaurants offering Southwestern specialties and organic cuisine. But, there are some things to note, namely on cost: 1. There are great "summer" rates and packages available - they usually run from mid-May until just before Labor Day. 2. Valet parking is $42 a day - there really isn't another option. 3. The resort fee is $68.73 per day (that includes tax) 4. Food and drink are VERY pricey - especially breakfast and lunch (my small egg white omelet with greens on the side was $29). If you have the ability, use the To-Go coffee and bakery spot next to Core Kitchen & Bar. They are open until 11am everyday. 5. They do cater, fairly well, to gluten-free needs. Other things to note: We were in room 2805 - a beautiful, clean, and comfortable room. It was so nice to have a fire pit on our terrace to enjoy (as well as the wildlife that stopped by to say hi). Note that there is a sidewalk that runs the length of the hotel, right in front of the fire pits so during the day, it does not feel as private. The spa cabana was worth the price tag if you plan on wanting to be outside all day and want to keep cool in between soaking in the sun or swimming in the pool. It's also adults-only. The spa, itself is beautiful with every amenity you'd need for a relaxing day.

But I want to let others know about our experience because I want to make sure it does NOT happen to future brides. I think this will mostly be about things that went wrong. And we did express our complaints to the owner but did not receive a sincere apology. Again, these are OUR issues and hopefully they can be corrected and improved in the future. *The barn door jammed for my sisters first look for her bridesmaids. Ruined moment. *The coordinator was very nice and did help us a lot in the bridal suite. But when it came to having things ready it was not so put together. She did not have ready the "Aras" or "Lazo" which is part of our tradition when getting married. When the time came, we stood there for a good 5-10 min before my mother had to run and go find it to which then the coordinator brought up. No one made an announcement or apologized. Then she pretty much disappeared the rest of the night. *I barely made it to the entrance song because it was not announced for the bridal party to gather. * The DJ RUINED their first dance because he played the wrong song and did not apologize. We gave him a whole set list to play of which NONE of the music was represented. He only played one line dance song where he got out on the dance floor but that was it. And coming from a Hispanic family, he did not play ANY Mexican music. Half the wedding did not dance at all. He did not announce any events so we did not know when cake cutting was happening or if things were placed out. For guests to view. Guests book signing, momentos to take home were not touched because no one knew about. *We had a High school mariachi band come play during dinner but then after they were somehow allowed to go into the bridal room and just "hang out"??? I don't know who said they could go back there but I was shocked when I went to get something and they were all lounging around our personal items!? I mean bras were thrown and everything back there! That was a big issue for me. Not appropriate. *When dinner came we had ok'd all guests to be allowed to have both entrees. I find out later that one side was offered only a choice instead of both! We had so much food leftover because of this! And the food was not as good as at the tasting. *The bar had pre made cocktails in pitchers instead of making them individually, so they were very strong. And if you had a drink, you had to drink it quickly because they'd come around and pick it up even if it was still full! Such a waste of all our bought liquor and beer. *They allowed guests in the ballroom while we were trying to take pictures of the bridal party so we had to have them go back out which was embarrassing. Then when we requested the guests to enter earlier after photos due to the weather it took another hour to make the announcement. *Not enough cocktail hour food! *Wedding party did not receive any snacks for cocktail hour. *The backdrop in the Photo Booth was not even up! It was supposed to be a newspaper setting and it was just a black curtain. *Not enough dessert and they were serving in paper boats that my uncle had provided for his nachos bar. *They had very young people serving who did not know how to serve or plate. *DJ did not announce the last dance!!!! They missed it and by then everyone had gone because the music sucked. AGAIN, just our experience but I hope those who take time to read this will be appreciative and take time to make sure everything goes how they expect it. And have a boss or someone you trust in charge of the little things to stay on top of them because they didn't seem to care much after they were paid. They were given programs to know exactly how we wanted things to go and they did not deliver.

The area is at the base of Sombrero Peak so the west setting sun is blocked by the peak so a 5 o'clock wedding is perfect without being under the blazing sun. Indoor dining is served with a table by table help yourself dinner. The space is elegant and comfortable and provides a great dining experience with a variety for the bride and groom speeches and then dancing. Did I mention plenty of parking. The staff, the views, the professionalism was definitely a 5 stars.

There is definitely room for some updates. That said, the grounds are meticulously maintained, the staff are all so very helpful, and our personal experience was excellent. We had a nice, clean room with a great view from our balcony of the mountains and the pool area (thanks, Lorenza!). We enjoyed watching the colors of the mountains change during sunrises and sunsets. Your housekeeping staff were all super helpful and did a great job during our stay. We had great experiences at the pool and with all of the pool staff - everyone was very attentive and friendly. John in the gift shop was so friendly and helpful. Our restaurant experiences were all positive, and all of our servers were great. We appreciated the location of the resort relative to local hiking golfing, dining, etc.

I moved in, put all my clothes away and hung up my dress shirts in the bath to steam them. After 15 min, I turned the water off and closed the door only to return 30 min later to remove the shirts when I was shocked by roaches all over the bathtub. I quickly called the front desk and was relocated to another room. Now I had the eebie geebies..but got settled in my new room. I went to sleep - only to be woken by a stranger checking into my room. He apologized and said they gave him this room. I realized I was checked into the wrong room during the transfer and when I went to the front desk to get room keys (rekeyed)..I met someone at the front desk who could have had a more understanding attitude. The room is ok..if you look close then you can see the age of the building. By the time I got off the phone one big dude walked around the entry way of the room. The location is nice, the resort nicely located at the base of a mountainside. It is probably best to enjoy the location versus looking too closely as there are signs of aging.

We got there and there were no low top tables available inside (needed a high chair), so we had to sit outside. It was completely empty outside. The hostess led us to a table and chairs that were soaked by the misters. She acted like it was fine. There was only one other low top outside. We went to it and there were tons of red ants crawling all around the ground and up the table and chair legs. Also a bunch of leaves and debris. The whole time going from table 1 to table 2, then noticing and commenting on the ants, the hostess was right there. No apology or attempt to clean anything up. Just standing there awkwardly, watching us take in the disappointment. It was clear the outside was not cleaned or even looked at in quite some time, and that would not change, so we left. We went to Lil Abners instead. As soon as we got there, we realized our terrible experience at Growlers was a blessing in disguise. The drink deals are better and cheaper at Lil Abners anyway. Plus, despite a staff of mostly high school and college age kids, they actually do a good job of making sure you have a good experience. And of course, the food is a million times better. So long Growlers. We won't be back.

Miraval is definitely now one of my 'Happy Places'. Upon check-in the staff took care of everything, we were greeted, bags taken away to our room and our car taken away by the valet. The staff were all smiles. Dee Dee checked us in and offered us tour of the property with Steve since it was our first visit here. She also walked us over to the cafe to grab a smoothie to enjoy while on our tour. Steve picked us up, and showed us the whole property while explaining where everything was and small details about the property such as the MULTIPLE pools! We did several classes with lots of variation from Meditation to Vison Boards + health and wellness classes. We really enjoyed spending time with all of their experts learning things from them to improve our daily lives. All of them answered every question without hesitation. A true all-star line up I must say! Let's talk about the FOOD! Every meal/snack we ate here was VERY tasty! Our bodies felt amazing after just one or two meals. Mostly everything they serve is locally sourced and organic. We looked forward to finding out the Chef's special with every meal we sat down to. Diana and Alice were amazing to us, providing us such great service at every meal. We did the "Just cook for me" dinner session with two other couples. We were all strangers, but it was very enjoyable! We spent about 3hrs with our new friends, talking, laughing, enjoying great food and wine cooked up/Served by Zach and Hannah. We did spend some time at the Spa and both of us were very happy with the staff and services provided that we chose. Other visitors we had spoken with said they enjoyed the massages they got. I think we will add that to our list for next visit. The property and staff as a whole, just embody peace, serenity and calmness. My favorite thing about the property is that the pools are 24/7 - We laid on our backs in the saltwater pool at midnight, just looking up at the stars in the Arizona night sky. I didn't have a care in world, just living in the moment. We felt so disconnected here from the outside world (in a good way), and that was something I will always remember and enjoy. Nobody had their phones out (Our stayed in our room the whole time!) and as someone who has to be connected 24/7 usually, this was VERY refreshing. I took all of these photos with my sunglasses. My partner and I had no problem striking up conversations about everything we were experiencing and how we could apply it to our everyday lives. Wandered by during the Made in Tucson Market/Fair last week. There was a pickup jazz ensemble playing who called themselves TFQ. They consisted of trumpet, bass, keyboard, and singer and they were amazing. Word is that the owners want to turn this into a regular performance venue. There doesn't appear to be anything resembling a kitchen or even a bar/counter so that might prove limiting. Parking will also be very difficult. But the space is quaint, with some cool features such as the dual openings (main entry doors off the street and a garage door off the side alley. That open-air ambience would definitely make for a cool experience, especially if you can come/go as you stroll the area.

Parking is scarce so arrive early or come prepared to walk. Upstairs outdoor margarita deck is nice and on a starry night, cooler weather would be the place to hang out before a show or even after. Daniel champagne was wonderful and the music was properly adjusted to carry the sound without drowning the singer and killing our ears. Staff was great! Lots of great songs added one to give you a taste of the talented, Australian singer and one man band, Daniel Champagne! I'd watch him again! Excellent with guitar, voice and a sweet kind person.

Spent the day exploring the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and came away impressed by just how alive…read morethe desert really is. We spotted gray wolves prowling their habitat, mountain bighorn sheep showing off their cliff-climbing skills, a bobcat perfecting the art of looking unimpressed, busy beavers ( not so busy but napping), playful river otters, and hummingbirds zipping around like tiny feathered helicopters. The desert definitely turned the thermostat up to "extra crispy," but with plenty of water, shade breaks, and determination, we made it work. A great reminder that the Sonoran Desert is far more than cactus and rocks. It's an entire world hiding in plain sight.

The museum offers a peaceful setting to wander in nature, enjoying cactus gardens, a mile-long trail, butterfly area, etc. We like visiting the animals, especially the otter Dot, the stingrays, and the mountain lions (they have two new cubs!) The gift shops have a lot of variety and we have purchased many a birthday gift for people, as well as goodies for ourselves- and no sales tax is a bonus! The food on property is really good, and the prickly pear lemonade or margaritas are great for a warm day. They also have events like Cool Summer Nights that offer live music, special displays and guest presentations in their theater, or Raptor Free Flight (seasonal) to get a glimpse of various birds flying up close. We never get bored going to the Desert Museum, there is always something new to see or a familiar favorite to revisit.
