Julio came over to discuss the project and what I wanted done. I needed a large limb removed that had fallen and lodged on my roof. I needed the limbs over my roof trimmed back. And I needed a massive, half-dead limb removed from my neighbor's tree that covering and threatening half my deck. I'll bet it weighed in at a ton. He explained how he would do it, gave me what I considered a reasonable price, and we set up a time. With other companies I've had bent gutters, cracked sidewalks, fence and deck boards. Not with Julio. He and his crew were careful and meticulous. Everything was either handed down or lowered by rope. It was cut up, hauled through the alley, and chipped at the curb. He showed me before and after pictures of the roof. And when they left, my deck and sidewalks were cleaner than when they got here. If you're going to get estimates on tree work; definitely include Julio Tree Service in the mix.

I had a chance for overtime that day, which I turned down to make sure I was home by 4:30 to meet with Jeremy. 4:30 came and went, and I was sitting around, waiting on him to show up. At 5:15 I call him and ask what is going on. He is very apologetic and saying "oh man" several times and starts talking about how bad the traffic is but says he can be at my house by 6 PM. I'm a little upset, but I agree to wait until 6 and meet with him. 6 PM comes by. . .and nothing. At 6:30, now two hours after our original appointment and 30 minutes after he just told me he'd be there a little over an hour prior, he's still not there. I call again, and he just starts saying "oh man" over and over again, and mumbles something about traffic being bad. He says maybe he can be there a little after 7 PM. No. I said no. I'll find someone else. If someone is this bad at simply keeping an appointment, and bad at communication that he can't communicate if he's going to be late, why should I trust him with a project at my home?

M & J Landscape was doing a major landscaping job on my neighbors in-ground pool project. On…read more04-11-18, I came across the owner of M & J Landscape and on first blush (Mark) came across has a nice person and said that he was a "yard guy" and could tell that I was also a "yard guy" so I had a feeling that he would respect my yard during this project. Instead, on 04-12-18, (the next day) I went into my backyard and discovered much to my shock that some type of equipment had been taken through my yard. To be honest I have raised ornamental islands in my yard and it was clear to see damage in my longest island that was near the pool project. My 1st fear was that M & J Landscape had driven their backhoe which they had been using over the top and through the island, instead the workers had decided to take many-many wheelbarrows of dirt over the top of this one island and then rutted the full length of my long island. This is in my view what I consider an "I caught on you moment", M & J Landscape has damaged my yard and my guess is that they thought I wouldn't notice. I have talked with the company that's using this landscaper (Backyard Pools of Louisville) and was told this will be taken care of but its 05-24-18 and nothing has been done to fix this issue. Nor have I heard from anyone (ever) about correcting this since 04-14-18. I was also told that there was a 99% chance that a backhoe didn't enter my yard and instead the damage was done with the use of wheel barrows. Potato or potatoe......my island is damaged. Its not right for a company like this to attempt to push around the average person and not be made accountable for the actions of their employees. So M & J Landscape entered my property to gain access to the back of my neighbors lot without my permission and M & J Landscape did damage in my yard. Thanks M & J Landscape, may I have more. Bottom line is that at no time has any party said "I'm sorry", "That's a mistake on our part". "It won't happen again" or anything like that. The project is now completed and all I asked for was a load of dirt and that I would do the actual repairs since I can't trust this company. Its now my experience that M & J Landscape isn't a company that I would use. I've now warned the vendor that uses this landscaper and my neighbor that if they again enter my property I would have to contact the sheriff's department...not what I want to do. Fingers crossed

The manager and assistant manager were great- they allowed for creativity, but also provided some guidance. We wound up making beautiful wreaths complete with ribbons, pinecones, and several different types of greenery. The manager told me that they were very welcoming of people who didn't know much about plants/plant care and that every so often they offered their customers the ability to exchange cuttings or gardening material (soil, pots, etc). It was clear they were closing up because several rubber plants were heavily discounted. I'm planning to go back since they obviously know what they are doing, and I don't!

Johnathan came out and listened to my concern and he told me they would add another block to the wall and would finish the rock off to meet that and they would be out the following week to complete. It has now been over a month and I have not seen anyone. I have called twice, having to leave a message both times, asking when they would be out or if they decided not to complete and have not gotten a return call. We had planned to have other projects done after the 1st of the year, but will be looking elsewhere since he did not complete and will not return calls. I understand it is a small thing to have to finish, but the lack of communication is ridiculous.
