To my embarrassment, when my friend put the fountain together we could plainly see it was not functioning correctly, the light bulb would not turn on, it looked like it had been used before because the water tube was full of mold and algae. When I tried returning it or possibly get an exchange for a NEW unit, the employee/owner at the store promptly took me outside to the front of the store where he showed me a sign that stated they did not offer returns or exchanges, even with a receipt. So much for customer service, or the customer is alwYs right!!! RUDE!!! How can you sell a plainly defective product and not allow an exchange or return.

Our parents used to drive us four kids to Chinatown in LA almost every weekend during our pre-adult years in the 1980's and early 1990's. We walked a couple blocks worth and decided to enter into the Dynasty Center. Honestly, I didn't remember much of it, but my Mom and brothers did. Somehow the memory of my past is very selective and limited. I must not be emotionally attached to them memories... I feel I'm an old soul who has been through many lifetimes so my brain cells can't hold thousands of years of memories at the same time... something's gotta give LOL. Back to this Dynasty review, tons of shops. I didn't really pay too much attention to the goods since I didn't have any intention of buying anything. We were just there to stroll down memory lane. It's amazing how clean and organized it was in there though. As I was walking from shop to shop, the one thought that came to my mind was the amount of time it must take them to set up shop. All that clothes and merchandises on display and hanging. I mean... they have to put all that up at the beginning of the day and take all that down at the end of the day. That's dedication, but it's part of the business. Hats off to them! Anyway, I didn't buy anything, but one of my brothers bought some red envelopes in preparation for Chinese New Year 2022. =) Parking was $5.00 all day. Funny, there was a sign outside the entrance that indicated $3.00 and we said that's the cheapest of all other parking so I drove in. It turns out the $3.00 was for the early birds before 10:30 AM. Don't be fooled... read the fine print please LOL. Yeah, $5.00 is average... I have a feeling they all agreed to this price so there's no competition. Out of desperation, I took it here (recommended by my aunt). Yes, I agree this place looks messy and it looks nothing like the fancy bridal alteration shops. But I was desperate and I didn't mind the drive. To my surprise, the boss lady did an excellent job. Not only did she work on my gowns, I took my husband's tux here too. I wanted it to be more fitted but most professional suit alteration places would not touch the shoulders (apparently you can ruin the suit if they mess it up). Luckily the boss lady used to make suits in China and it was a piece of cake for her! Took 2 fittings to make it fit PERFECTLY (plus another time they messed up the pick up date. We showed up and the suit was untouched) but I'm not complaining! PS. The people who wrote negative reviews didn't even look like they got any work done here. *rolling my eyes* if you consider yourself high maintenance, good for you but stay away from most Chinese places in San Gabriel valley ;)

There is The…read moreSquare Plus retail store that is also within the food court area... the name is so fitting as the shopping center is called The Square LOL. Anyway, we looked over and saw dustpans. I've been wanting to buy a new dustpan because the old one was damaged when I had to use it to shovel snow a few weeks back when the high desert had a snowstorm. Yes, you read right... I used a dustpan to shovel snow (1st time shoveling snow + using a dustpan to do it) LOL... it wasn't too bad actually. One gray dustpan was $4.49 + tax... not too shabby and it's the sturdy type, too. I didn't check out any other items in the shop, but from what I can tell, they do have some nifty knick knacks, small appliances, general household stuff, etc. It doesn't have a lot of space for customers to walk around though... there are only 2 aisles really... the one closest to the entrance and the one on the other side of the wall LOL. I grabbed one dustpan, waited in line (wait wasn't too bad), and paid cash for it. The lady at the cashier was pleasant. She may have been the owner... not 100% sure though. Great for getting specific asian appliances that are difficult to find on Amazon or other big-chain appliance stores like Best Buy etc. They also sell a lot of little tiny tools, such as cookware etc. Feels kind of like Daiso. this place is known to sell JOSS papers. burning papers or items for your loved ones/deceased. this…read moreplace is slightly cheaper than buying it from grocery stores. i highly suggest you to come here since you have to buy alot whenever you need to burn papers for your loved one's passing. i spend about 800$ for my dad's funeral. i burned joss papers, house, car, clothes , tv entertainment, two servants , and much more. it adds up quickly. i hope my dad recieves it =[ ill be sad if its not true, im following his tradional customs of being a chinese and i believe we are taoist. they believe in burning papers and items to help the deceased one in the AFTER LIFE. when they arrive there in certain amount of days (i believe its 100 or one year, im still new to this) , they have nothing there. so burning them things will get them started. it takes them about 10 years to learn how to magically get things they need. for now, they are a small spirit, eventually they grow. pretty interesting, i had to read about it. anyways, if you are young and chinese, not sure what to buy. the gentleman here at the store is extremely nice, he will help you or tell you what to buy. they also sell blankets to cover your love ones after they pass away at the hospital or at home. very cheap $40 (instead of 100$). writing this was tough, my dad passed away in nov 2019. but i want others to know this place is a friendly place and you wont be fustrated when you come here. just tell him what happen and what you need.
