They are okay. The price is good, but the selection is not the best. We went here to get some material during Chinese New Year a few months back and owners are quite rude. We wanted to return something back to them because it didn't fit in our home but they wouldn't let us until we fought with them a bit. They gave us a store credit on a piece of receipt and no official papers or even our cash back?? I'm giving them a 4 just because of that. Who knows if we try to give them the paper and they wont accept it, money wasted and we just got scammed. read more

Getting ready for the Chinese/Vietnamese/Lunar New Year? You might need to some here to pick up some traditional supplies to maintain your heritage and properly pay respects to your ancestors. The store front is lined up with RED ENVELOPES of all sorts. There are more traditional envelopes with Chinese writing. I can't read it but I'm sure it says pleasant lucky sayings wishing luck to those who receive it. They also have red envelopes with pictures that allude to lucky symbolisms/idioms that are common in our culture. They even have some more modern red envelopes with modern designs or some are just plain pretty. Furthermore they have incense and alter related items. I also saw the fake paper money that you burn at funerals, deathiversaries and new years to honor your ancestors. It's actually interesting because I know some Christian/Catholic Asian people who will still perform their filial piety and burn this for their ancestors even though it is somewhat pagan. I think it is just a practice that is a part of our tradition whether or not we believe the historical and cultural significance behind the practices. I would have kindly given this place more stars for cultural value but the service was bad even for Asian service. I was getting ready to pay and the lady looked at me, and then turned away to her tv screen for quite a moment. Eventually she turned back to me and rang up the items and told me how much the item was... in Cantonese. I turned to my Taiwanese friend and my Taiwanese friend was like... she's speaking Mandarin. I was like... I know she told me the price but I can't figure out what she's saying O_O' Then after watching my confusion in amusement, she was like.. 6 dollars. That is a bit on pricey side when I just bought 4 packages of red envelopes. They are typically only $1/package. Had to come here to prepare for my father's funeral sadly. My mom and I are not knowledgeable about what was needed to prepare, and the salesperson was very helpful in making suggestions on what we needed to burn at the grave site for a proper send-off. The store has a mish mash of red envelopes, incense of all sizes and scents, bowls, Bhuddha and Guan Yin statues, paper money, paper clothing with shoes, socks and underwear, and even paper houses and cars to have a send over to the other side. It's a cash only enterprise, and as I am unfamiliar with pricing of these things, I don't know if any of the things we purchased were priced correctly. read more

Surprisingly, these shops are hard to find, even in the area! There's not many of them that specialize in only New Years, funeral, wedding, and other religious and cultural goods. Best time to go is now, during Chinese New Years. They stocked up on a lot of cute year of the dog decorations that you can hang up. I like the charms that a lot of people put in their car on the mirror. Lots of hong bao designs. There's a lot of variety. Usually with sayings like 福 、 出入平安、萬事如意、 等等等etc. They have an entire aisle of just incense of every size, quantity and packaging available. There's so many paper money varieties for burning. Lots of afterlife things like the clothes and such. The prices are reasonable, and I like that they're located right next to SG Superstore. Staff is friendly and helpful. read more

Probably the most affordable place if you don't want to make the trek down to Chinatown. They also got assorted Asian wedding and funeral supplies. as well as Chinese New Year red envelopes and decorations. this place is known to sell JOSS papers. burning papers or items for your loved ones/deceased. this place is slightly cheaper than buying it from grocery stores. i highly suggest you to come here since you have to buy alot whenever you need to burn papers for your loved one's passing. i spend about 800$ for my dad's funeral. i burned joss papers, house, car, clothes , tv entertainment, two servants , and much more. it adds up quickly. i hope my dad recieves it =[ ill be sad if its not true, im following his tradional customs of being a chinese and i believe we are taoist. they believe in burning papers and items to help the deceased one in the AFTER LIFE. when they arrive there in certain amount of days (i believe its 100 or one year, im still new to this) , they have nothing there. so burning them things will get them started. it takes them about 10 years to learn how to magically get things they need. for now, they are a small spirit, eventually they grow. pretty interesting, i had to read about it. anyways, if you are young and chinese, not sure what to buy. the gentleman here at the store is extremely nice, he will help you or tell you what to buy. they also sell blankets to cover your love ones after they pass away at the hospital or at home. very cheap $40 (instead of 100$). writing this was tough, my dad passed away in nov 2019. but i want others to know this place is a friendly place and you wont be fustrated when you come here. just tell him what happen and what you need. read more

Came here to buy a pack of red envelopes for CNY. The front of the store is lined up with tons of options for the red envelopes of your choice. There were a bunch with cute cartoons, so I chose a really cute little sheep version for the year of the sheep. $1 a packet. :) They have a lot of items that you might need to pick up if you carry on with your Asian traditions. However, service kind of sucks if you can't speak their language. I called at around 6pm on a Sunday to make sure that they were still open. The woman said hello and then hung up right after I asked how late are they open today.
